Kleber Dynaxer HP4 (5,65)
The Dynaxer series has enjoyed very good reviews from drivers ever since it appeared in the shop's range and continued to do so last year. The Kleber Dynaxer HP4 opens the list of models in the size 215/55 R16. It is definitely a tyre for dynamic driving and can cope well with a sporty car. The performance tyre is designed to reduce energy loss and ensure good grip in all conditions.
With each subsequent installment of the popular series, the manufacturer tries to improve the parameters while maintaining a reasonable price, and in this case the effects are very good.
The model features a rib-and-pull tread pattern that improves traction during dynamic manoeuvres. The optimised rubber compound allows efficient water drainage and vehicle control, even in emergency situations.
"Very predictable tyres. Quiet, yet providing very good grip on both dry and wet asphalt. The previous tyres were Pirelli P7s, in my opinion very similar in terms of handling, although the Klebers seem quieter. So far, 3,000 km driven, so I can't comment on durability. Very good value for money especially in this size 215/55 R16. I recommend. Mario"
"I recommend with a clear conscience! Kleber is Kleber. :) Everyone looks to more reputable brands. The HP4 model is a very successful tyre. Quiet, performs very well in my opinion on dry as well as wet pavement. Paul"
Nokian Tyres Wetproof (5,5)
In second place, a manufacturer that is most often associated with winter tyres, but also excels in the summer model segment.
Wetproof is a tyre for dry as well as very rainy summers. The tread pattern is divided into a stabilisation zone, which is responsible for grip when manoeuvring the car, and a zone that improves driving safety, particularly on wet roads. The design of the low-noise grooves, which work particularly hard when driving in the rain, helps to reduce tyre noise, which improves comfort especially over long journeys.
As befits a premium tyre, Nokian Tyres offers top quality and low rolling resistance, which is noticeable in fuel consumption and slower wear.
"The car grips the tarmac very well in dry as well as wet conditions - I drive an estate, often with more luggage, with single-axle drive - so this parameter is very important to me. In addition, I noticed that the tyres do not lose grip when braking harder, even on wet pavement, and the car remains stable. I would definitely recommend them. It is hard to find a better choice in terms of quality/price ratio for someone who wants slightly better tyre properties. The tyres have a lower rolling resistance and the fuel consumption has improved by about 0.2-0.3 l/100 km. Bart"
"The tyres are certainly quiet. I have no major complaints about traction, they do their job well, and I drive rather dynamically. Cornering is good, braking is also good. There is a noticeable drop in traction at lower temperatures, even of the order of 10°C. The tyres are probably harder and lose a few to several per cent of traction even in the dry. But this is not a characteristic of these tyres, more an afterthought, as it applies to all summer tyres, to compare tyres in the same conditions. As for the tyres' resistance to potholes or kerbs, so far so ok. Tyres worth recommending. MTM"
Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 (5,3)
The top three of the ranking is rounded off by the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 tyres. They are designed using innovative technologies that provide impeccable performance. They belong within the medium segment, so they guarantee an ideal balance between quality and an attractive price.
The Ventus Prime3 K125 tyres offer improved handling and shorter braking distances on dry and wet roads as a result of their design, which is particularly useful in changing summer conditions. In addition, drivers who opt for the South Korean brand's model can experience confident handling and reduced rolling resistance throughout its life.
"Perfect value for money! The tyres are great on any surface and I can enter sharp bends at higher speeds without fear. The tyres also look very good visually. I recommend, they are really worth it! Hankook company does not disappoint. Martha"
"These are already my next tyres from this company. Satisfaction 100%! They perform perfectly on any road surface. Quiet, economical, but most importantly, durable and safe tyres. I recommend them to anyone who wants to feel safe in all conditions at higher speeds. Matin"
Firemax FM601 (5.2)
Just behind the podium is a model that is highly rated by drivers, not only for its performance but also for its price.
An asymmetrical tread and a balanced rubber compound are the best combination for a summer tyre. The inner part of the tyre is responsible for evacuating water and providing stability in rainy weather, while the outer part is designed to grip the road even during dynamic cornering. The shape and pattern of the tread also help to reduce the noise generated by the tyre.
In addition, the model has a reinforced construction, so it's more resilient, and riding with a full boot will be less noticeable.
"I was tempted to buy these particular tyres by the price, but above all by user feedback, so I too am leaving feedback. The tyres look great and are ideal for wet roads. I had an emergency situation a few times and didn't feel any oversteer or understeer from the tyres. It is clear that the braking distance, the fuel consumption and the noise level do not compare with reputable companies. Nevertheless, I consider them to be very good. At the tyre specialist's, it turns out that I am not the only one who has decided to buy these tyres. This also shows that the manufacturer is popular. I consider the tyres to be excellent. I recommend them. Paul"
"The mere fact of the price of these tyres raises the thought that this will not be a product that will meet the expectations of the most demanding drivers. However, for driving at the permitted motorway speeds or for more dynamic driving on national/provincial roads, they are perfectly adequate. I drive the car about 2,000 km a month and so far I haven't experienced any unpleasantness related to the tyres. On dry surfaces the tyres perform very well, and on wet ones I have not experienced any uncontrolled skidding. The braking distance is also decent. There is a slight noise coming from under the tyres at higher speeds, but it is not a high amplitude sound that is unbearable. The Firemax product itself is a budget product and anyone considering the purchase of this type of tyre must be aware of this and not expect premium results. Personally, I recommend this product to people who already have some experience behind the wheel, what and driving dynamically, but not sportily. Carol."
Zeetex HP2000 VFM (5,1)
The list closes with the Zeetex brand, which uses premium solutions but is available at very competitive prices.
The tyre is ideal for passenger cars that are mainly used in the city or on well-maintained highways. It is quiet and has a good grip on the road. The tyre is durable and does not wear excessively, allowing it to maintain its traction over a long period.
" The tyres are quite good for the budget segment. After 3 seasons I think they age better than many in the medium segment. Rated A on dry surface, because of the noise from the tyres and the impression of a slight 'deck' in corners. They grip well, but you can feel the moment you change trajectory and you have to get used to it. On the other hand they do not rumble on small bumps, so comfort is a plus. In the wet they grip decently, as long as the driver does not make "life records", they also cope well with aquaplaning, but the amount of water they lift from the asphalt is considerable, so the car is very dirty after such precipitation. In mounded snow they handle decently - neither good nor bad. On a slippery slope or on ice, even the good Lord will not help, perhaps only spikes. To sum up, I think you can't buy better tyres for this money. In my personal ranking, I would put them somewhere between Barum and Firestone. Jack"
"The car for which I intended these tyres is not expensive, so the sense of buying the best ones was questionable (it was logical to choose from the lower price range). After reading reviews on various online forums, I decided on Zeetex HP2000. After one season I have to admit that I had no problems with these tyres. The summer of 2019 was dry, so I didn't have too many opportunities to test them "in the wet conditions", but on dry pavement they performed superbly (high motorway speeds of about 200 km/h were not a problem, as well as fast driving through sharp corners or emergency braking). I would definitely recommend them. M. Preus"
How to choose tyres for summer?
When choosing the right tyres it is best to consider several sources of information. One of the most important is the opinion of other drivers, who know the advantages and disadvantages of a particular model through their daily driving.
In addition to user reviews, it is worth noting the seasonal tyre tests carried out each year by motoring organisations and magazines. These allow you to compare drivers' opinions with the evaluations made by professionals, and see if they coincide or match.
Choosing the right tyres is a guarantee of safe and comfortable driving
In addition, before making a purchase it is advisable to pay attention to the information provided on the label attached to the tyre. This tells you more about the model's rolling resistance, noise level and wet handling.
