Maxxis M6029

The Supermaxx M6029 touring tyre has been created by Maxxis to meet the demands of modern, high performance sports bikes. The state-of-the-art computer technology, Virtual Intelligent Prototyping and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was applied.

Uniform load distribution between cornering and straight line racing is provided by the FEA, which determines the tyre use under stress/load conditions. This ensures that while gaining a fast controlled feedback, even distribution of load is obtained at maximum stress levels under force.

Responsive handling and stability to achieve quick and precise cornering are the qualities of the Supermaxx touring tyre which features a unique profile. In order to provide tyre unity at high speeds, kevlar belts were used in the revolutionary radial construction.

Mono-spiral, zero degree kevlar belt was applied in the production of the rear Maxxis Supermaxx which is a full radial carcass. For increased stability at high-speed performance on heavier sport-touring bikes, the front tyre was equipped with a full width kevlar belt. Therefore, precise handling through sturdy stability and maximum lean angle cornering has been obtained. Balanced contact patch on the road is provided by the sturdy, ultra-lightweight kevlar belts. Highly adhesive compound and aggressive drainage pattern ensure superb wet road performance.

I currently ride a Kawasaki 650 Versys. The Maxxis tyres perform well considering the price. I get around 8000 miles to a front tyre and around 4500 miles to a rear. I stress that this is my riding style. Take it easy and you will see more; suggest 9000 miles to the front and 8000 miles to a rear. Grip generally good even on wet slippery roads. Over many years of motorcycling I have tried most of the makes of tyres; some better than others. I personally rate Maxxis as being good value general performance tyres and at a good price. I ride around 7500-10000 miles a year mostly touring now. Read more Collapse

I took one of my Suzuki's around the circuit in the Isle of Man; Maxxis tyres performed very well. Now use them on my road bikes. You can get 'better' tyres in terms of wet grip and overall performance but prepare to pay much more. Albeit a budget tyre, in my opinion, these tyres will be first class for most riders. Mileage wise, just to give an example, on my Kawasaki 650 Versys I get 8000 miles to a front tyre and around 4000 miles on the rear. A very steady rider will certainly double the rear tyre mileage. Overall I am impressed with these budget tyres. I will continue to buy them. Read more Collapse

Never really thought of using Maxxis Tyres until I saw them in use in the Isle of Man. The rider was impressed with them. Back on the mainland I tried a pair on a Suzuki and was impressed. I have been using them since on a range of bikes. Generally grip is excellent; wet grip good as well. I tend to get around 4000 miles on the rear and more on the front. A 'gentle' road rider would probably get around 6000 to 8000 miles from a rear. Considering the price they are a great buy. Some motorcycle tyres may appear better but you are paying for a name and expensive advertising. Recommended. Read more Collapse

I put these on my GSXR in place of Bridgestones and was surprised at the improved gripnand confidence they gave me. I bought a Fireblade with the same tyre. The tyres were almost new but 7 years old. Within 1000 miles the back tyre wore badly. However because the grip was so good I decided to buy a new back the same quite liking the idea of changing tyres more often and having that new soft rubber more often on the bike. Although the tyre is the same model and appearance the new tyre is wearing well with better grip 1500 fast miles and low wear. Good tyres at a good price. Read more Collapse

I've been riding bikes for 36 years and have had all sorts of tyres some good some not so good. In my opinion these tyres are among the best I've ever had for... Wait for it.. ONE THIRD THE COST OF MAIN BRAND TYRES. I ride all year round so need tyres that cope with all conditions including freezing and wet. Some sort these don't like cold and wet. Some all purpose tyres don't like hot and fast. These tyres really do it all. They give lots of feed back and inspire confidence. I will buy more Read more Collapse

I've bought these tyres bacause i couldn't afford high performance tyres for about 250 GBP. Generally I will gladly recommend them to people who drive not so aggressive and on dry. On wet it's not so good as on dry. Perhaps it's about trust to equipment you have. Anyway i'm satisfied. Read more Collapse

Not soon after they were fitted I rode in quite rainy conditions around the heart of wales. They did the job but I didn't have the confidence in these as what I did in my previous Angel GT's, however now that they are scrubbed up and settled in I can't find any fault? Costing considerably less though I think they are well worth the money and suit my needs perfectly although the jury's still out on the longevity. Read more Collapse

Great behaviour on the road. Good grip, they're sticky also on wet. Certainly no tyre eliminates driver's mistakes. But you can drive really agressive on this one. The middle of rear tyre has to high treadwear for me but still it's okay. I have these tyres on front and rear and I'm really pleased. Read more Collapse

A good tyre which for the price cannot be beaten, be aware I am talking about a touring tyre on a very quick aggressively tuned bike. Maxxis do two tyres above this ones performance which I will be trying next. The only minor quibble is that they do flat off in the middle, I would presume this is a single compound tyre, although I haven't checked. Very good value, predictable tyre. Read more Collapse

I used the Maxxis M6029 tyre on a motorcycle Dynapac cc 1300 for a little over 3000 miles. I’m very impressed, still almost a whole tread is left. The only thing I noticed is that the rear tyre takes some time to warm up and tends to move very slightly for the first two miles of a climb, but nothing serious.I will use these tires again, I'm very happy with them.
