I bought the M7RR's ahead of a trip to the Nurburgring for a K1300s (hyper)sports tourer. My previous bike was a Tiger 1050 with Pilot Road 4's which transformed that bike and my confidence, so I questioned whethe the M7's would be a backward step. I need not have worried. On motorways, back roads and when pushing my own, pathetic limits on the Nordschleife I never had a moment of concern. The tyre wear is very good and even after the round trip to the 'ring and several long commutes to clients, I still have plenty of tread left. I'm wondering whether I'll bother to go back to the part-worn Pilot Road 4s I still have in my garage. Read more Collapse

always stuck to 1 well known brand, damaged a rear tyre and needed a fast replacement. Only option at the time was a metzeler m3. I was surprised at the grip and wear by it , so when the front needed changing I thought a pair of m7s would be worth a go. A great tyre, feel grip and wear. Used all tread on rear first outing. 4500 miles later 2nd rear has been changed and done around 1500 miles and the front is just starting to loose shape. These have been hard miles and legally i could have got more but the feel had gone. I will be sticking to the m7s for the foreseeable. DAYTONA675 Read more Collapse

Have these on a 2013 zzr1400 Used for everything from trackdays to 2 up touring On my 2nd set and loving them First trackday on these was very wet and they inspired excellent confidence, enough so to see off lots of track bikes on full racing wets Dry track grip was also excellent and any movement was predictable Would highly recommend to anybody wanting a fast road all round tyre I chose these over the slightly grippier Diablo rosso corsas because they are soo good in poorer conditions Read more Collapse

Cbr1000rr - Great tyre, almost as good in the wet as in the dry, which is some going! Have heard others mention them going off in the second half of life, didn't find to be a problem but know what they are talking about. Have had the m5's on as well, did prefer the positive feel of the turn in on them, felt like a stiffer carcass that needed a bit of effort to put on line, then locked on line. All in all though, amazing tyre, not sure how the m9 can improve but I'm sure they'll find a way... Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Metzeler Sportec M7 RR offer a great deal comfort and precision. After I’ve switched from M3’s, the fast cornering is more enjoyable, especially when I have to change the directions fast, as in Alpine mountain passes. Another good thing is that they get to optimal operating temperature quickly. I have driven my BMW K1300R for about 7500km on those tyres, and the tread is about 2/3 of its original size, which is a great result. I will have to change my tyres in Spring, and I will certainly choose Metzeler Sportec M7 RR. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a solid tyre. Read more Collapse
