Accelera ALPHA

Tyre details: The Accelera ALPHA is an economy summer tyre created for sports cars. It is particularly well suited to drivers looking for a dynamic and fast driving experience, whatever the weather. The tyre offers excellent performance on wet roads thanks to its directional tread pattern. V-shaped grooves help quickly and effectively disperse water, whilst also minimising the risk of aquaplaning. This all helps ensure better grip, whatever the weather.

The tyre is made from an innovative compound, noted for its lightness and high strength. Its low weight helps limit rolling resistance, thus reducing fuel consumption. Resistance to mechanical damage and an extended lifetime are other features that make the Accelera ALPHA the ideal choice for drivers looking for a cost-effective option. The designers behind the model have also ensured a balanced distribution of pressure from the tyre on the road surface, which means that the tread wears slowly and evenly. This means that drivers can enjoy its full performance specifications for its entire lifetime, without having to worry about a drop in driving performance or loss of grip. The Accelera ALPHA is the ideal solution for drivers looking for a cost-effective price and running costs when purchasing a tyre. The model is a good alternative to more expensive brands – it ensures optimal performance at a reasonable price, while the low rolling resistance and exceptional strength make the tyre cost-effective to run.

Accelera is an Asian brand that has also been operating in Europe for over a decade. It markets its products in over 50 countries worldwide. The brand is owned by the Indonesian group EP Tyres, a company that has been in operation since 1996 and which owns the brands Forceum and Epco as well as Accelera. EP Tyres makes economy tyres, noted for their optimal performance and driving comfort at the lowest possible price.

    Opinion from outside the UK

Deciding to buy Accelera ALPHA suggested a number of positive reviews, but now I know that the most useful are those negative. Even when setting tire vulcanizer machine in balancing could see some defect. Firstly, on each wheel had to be assumed min to 70 g to break it down, and second tank are not equal on each of the beating was 4, which results in tragic comfort. At a speed of about 120 km / h the car literally jumps. Do not give anything to move the tire on the rim and re-balancing. I do not recommend anyone to dynamic driving on wet pavement and the more belts or lines (drives like ice). The straight-ahead noise is still as ok, but cornering the massacre tires even roar. Sorry, but I will advertise these tires. I do not recommend anyone or these or other tires from China, Indonesia, or from a different country from the east. My cousin bought the same just a different size and has the same as me. I sincerely advise against anyone. Read more Collapse

I do recommend Accelera ALPHA to my Vauxhall Corsa. I had Dunlops previosly fitted but I bought Accelera ALPHA as I wanted to save some money. For me they are just splendid. They perform very well on wet/dry tarmac. The tyre is multi purpose: I was drifting, I was making speed tests and I thought that ALPHA is a rubish tyre. It turned to be the other way round. They are way better than dunlops. Very good braking properties. I think that the only disadvantage of their grip is the fact that they will be probably wear-off a bit quicker. Although they are not the most quiet tyres I had in my life, their performance just dimms the noise. Read more Collapse

Average summer tyres. The price is not bad, but they are extremely loud (much louder than winter Continental TS830s!). Their grip is average, even during light braking ABS can switch on. Driving on water is OK, but in this case I prefer not to push it too much. The biggest drawback: Tyres with DOT 2007 have a lot more tread than TWI level (not much used), but the rubber slowly starts to crack in several places (and it is not the fault of the damage - it's age). Overall, despite the fact that there's still some tread - I have to buy new tyres and this time I'll definitely buy different ones than Accelera ALPHA Read more Collapse

A total disaster, even before fitting. Balancing of these tyres was a nightmare, 250 g per wheel is a tragedy... rotating the tyre on the wheel, changing wheels, etc... but it worked. After one season I fitted them to the car and there was wheel spinning, vibrating steering wheel.... On wet it's a tragedy - I don't recommend to drive over the lines and stripes painted on the road because you can be pretty surprised. Generally I don't recommend it - it's just wasted money, I decided to dispose of them and buy something twice as expensive, but good. My car is a BMW E39 530D 220HP with a chip. Read more Collapse

I often tow with the car either with track-day car & trailer or a caravan, The tendency to over inflate a little will make them feel a little hard, but on normal pressures they are fine. As with all estate cars they will allow the back to step out when pushing on but that's not really a fault of the tyre. The tread pattern tapers off a little on the sides and this will soon render the tyre illegal if you have any tracking/wheel alignment issues so be sure to get that checked and they should give you miles of trouble free driving. Buying a novelty is always risky. I have bought Accelera ALPHA to fit onto my rear axis. They are very comfortable and silent. I did not fell anyhing alarming on wet and dry road surface. THe longer I was using them the more my trust the've gained. I was forced to buy cheaper tyres as I had no other option. I decided to buy Accelera ALPHA and I do not regret it. The most important thing for me is that now I am 100% sure that you do not have to spend huge amount of money to have a good tyre. Accelera ALPHA works more than OK. Read more Collapse

I was a bit worried before purchasing Accelera ALPHA as I never heard about this make. It occured that these tyres are very good. In the begining of 2011 i bought a set of 205/50R16 for not more than £250.I do not regret. They are very confident while cornering, they reaction time is pretty fast, they are stiff and you can almost feel their awesome performance. Also the rim protector works pretty good. My garage had no issues with putting them onto my wheels and balancing them which also is a huge advantage of them tyres. Read more Collapse

Overall, not a bad tyre for such price. Up to now I used winter Yokohamas and I can say that these one are incomparable with Yokohamas. Nevertheless, considering the price of the tyre, it is worth recommending. The only drawback is the noise level. Especially when cornering. It hums quite loudly. Apart from that, it's OK. There was no problem with balancing. I drive a 2000 A-Class, 1.9 petrol. The tyre does great up to 50-55 MPH. Above this speed is the noise becomes audible. Read more Collapse

Very good value for money that is all what I can say about Accelera ALPHA :) This model there is a very good tire that does not wear out too fast and holds up much in the wet as in the dry, why buy big brands while others are also good tires best view!! try them and you go to worship. You will not be disappointed! I have mounted several golf4 cars, picasso, zx, and always and in addition, at this price you have a rim protection, which is not necessarily on other tire brand! I got it in size 205/40R18. previously I had 225/40R18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas. After driving a few hundred miles what I can say about this tyre is that it's really good, the grip in corners is sensational, probably even better than Vredesteins that I had last year and they were also bought as new ones. And I can say that I drive aggressively. At the beginning I had mixed feelings, but now I know that you won't get anything better for that price than Accelera ALPHA Read more Collapse

I bought Chinese tyres before and they were fine. And I was tempted by the price again. Unfortunately, these tyres are a total disaster. Tyres were crooked, the car couldn't be driven straight on the motorway. The noise level and vibrations are high above 50 MPH. I won't even comment on starting, braking and traction in corners. I bought them before selling the car. The vehicle was sold, of course, but I had to drop the price for tyre replacing - for a different brand! Read more Collapse

I bought a complete train tires Accelera ALPHA replacing the original tires ... and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dynamics of Indonesian origin tires which is generally the same level as the tires of the brand I had before: they are a little more "stiff" (small irregularities The most noticeable way, but instead of 98W 94V) and rubber pad that protects the rim flange ... They are substantially softer than in previous tires :) Read more Collapse

After driving 5000 miles I can't accurately assess the tyres, but overall I'm very pleasantly surprised - for such price I was expecting high noise level, the problem with balancing, etc. - there is no such thing. Tires don't vibrate, they are not very loud, The car maintains all the standards of driveability, braking is also satisfactory. The appearance is not sensational, you don't drive only with appearance. Overall I would recommend. Read more Collapse

I drove Accelera ALPHA For over 80000 miles. I have to say that I did not spare them as I thought that a budget indonesian tyre will be anyway wearing off pretty quickly. I have to say that the increased durability is its best feature. I am working as a builder, i drive on debris, nails etc and Accelera ALPHA has not even a sign of a damage or so. Very good wet and dry handling. Right now I consider buying one more set of Accelera ALPHA. Read more Collapse

Just while fitting the tyre to the rim first issue appeared. Tyre fitter said that Accelera ALPHA do not match any road requirements. These tyres looked like an egg after putting it to the rim. The drivebility of these tyres may not be the worst. As for me the tyre's relatively quiet and has good driveability, but when it comes to wear-off, it can be determined by the word "tragedy". I did 25 000 miles and had to dispose of the tyre. I had General Altimax tyres before and did 80 000 miles on them, and there was no such problem. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

tires are great, I had Dunlop Opel Corsa D 2008 years of news and bought Accelera Alpha after 5 years of use, the Alpha is produced in Indonesia, so you know no shoddy China, amazing to hold on curves, it can be said that the stand on end when braking, seem slight noise but the appearance and quality are by me bajerowskie. I would recommend without hesitation, and the purchase? it was not about money, but about curiosity or unknown superbki will whisk ... I wanted something like this ... and I-mega power is power. gravity do not tire tip-top - as fast tread wear off? I do not know, time will tell. size is 195/65 R15 Read more Collapse

good performance in the dry, the wet cornering is very very poor, ESP off in all roundabouts at 30km / h ... a review! very quiet for tires 1st prize for having tried many this is by far the best but the handling on wet is really dangerous, we need to know and drive very slowly especially when cornering. in longevity, I am 20M miles and they are still correct, the Pirelli P7 kept me 30M km to the AV, it will be at least as good, probably better.
