With the new Barum Polaris 3 driving in winter becomes a real pleasure. Security - good grip in snow. With increased traction on snow and ice, and reduced risk of aquaplaning in slush and on wet roads the Barum Polaris 3 ensures that you will always have perfect control over the vehicle, even in difficult weather conditions. High mileage performance and economy.

Barum Polaris 3

The Barum Polaris 3 is the ideal tyre for economical drivers since its low wear ensures a high mileage performance and its low rolling resistance results in reduced fuel consumption. Driving comfort.‘Snow catchers‘ in the tread keep the snow in the groove, which enables the Barum Polaris 3 to transfer the power of the engine to the snowy slopes during acceleration and ensures an excellent braking performance.

Barum Polaris 3

Advantages of the Barum Polaris 3: Increased surface contact patch and even distribution of pressure on the ground guarantee a high level of safety when driving on snow and ice. Zigzag sipes in the tread centre and wavy sipes in the shoulder provide good traction and stability, regardless of weather conditions. Rounded contour and new silica-based tread provide good traction on wet roads. Advanced sipe and revised contour ensure even wear.

I usre the tyres on my Ford Focus estate. I have this car since September, so I have no comparison of its behaviour on other tyres. Previously I used a Partner on popular Kelly tyres. After the first snowfall I got a little scared when I had to drive out of my driveway. I had to go about 70 metres to the main road, uphill all the time. The Partner was driving without any problems, and the Focus fitted with Barum Polaris 3 had a bit of problems. I had to take the hill a few times. Apart from this situation, the tyres are worth recommending. They are much better than Kelly on the road, quieter, provide better grip on wet and on slush. For such price Barum Polaris 3 are definitely worth recommending. Read more Collapse

Ive tested the Barum Polaris 3 in heavy winter.Ive done 20,000 km of which 10,000 km in the middle of winter with snow and ice. The rubber proved to be very good and strong. Nice tread pattern. The car has always been kept up very well to the road and with the thick snow and icy roads. Never had a problem with the discharge of mud and water. When driving on dry asphalt you hear a slight noise but not too loud. The second car I have fitted that tyre and it has always been very controllable on wet snow. The tyre well behave even with a more dynamic driving on snowy roads. Ive already recommended that tyre to many of my friends and I can recommend it to you. Barum Polaris 3 is a tyre to go for! Tyres Barum Polaris 3 are performing very well in my car. Especially in the wet. On a dry very quiet ride even on bold tyres. With these tyres the car is literally glued to the asphalt. I have no fear that i can lose traction with these tyres. They are just perfect for AUDI. Previously, I had Michelin and to be honest I can not see the difference in driving. For the price at which they are available, no one will buy better tyres. My driving style has always been aggressive but for several years now I ride with small children so I switched to safety and these tyres give me the satisfaction and sense of safe driving. I would recommend Barum Polaris 3 with my hand on heart :) Read more Collapse

The winter was unusual but while driving in such variable conditions I have decided to perform various maneuvers like braking at different speeds in different weather conditions, turning left and right at different speeds in different weather conditions, even tried to slide! This was not Certainly a professional test but I wanted to see what are the possibilities of my car fitted with Barum Polaris 3 tyres with my style od driving.Im very happy because I have found that I am able to control the car in some unusual conditions when i got the Barum Polaris 3 tyres on! I can easily recommend these tyres for any winter. Read more Collapse

I can safely recommend Barum Polaris 3 I use them in my SUV and after driving 7.500miles in different conditions i didnt have any problems with grip and driving stability. Both on dry and wet surface the tyres behave predictably,in slush the breaking distance has extended but this is understandable in such circumstances. On the ice with the recommended lower tyre pressure the Barum Polaris 3 behave extremely good when accelerating and braking. Due to the rear-wheel drive in Suzuki Grand Vitara you need to be careful when entering a turn at snowy or icy roads, because in this case any tyre wont help. Read more Collapse

I have a few same cars and almost every single one has different tyres fitted, so I have a pretty good range for comparison. In my opinion, Barum Polaris 3 are very good tyres. They behave very well on wet and in temperatures below zero. They also do well on dry and they are quiet and comfortable. I don't know how they behave typically on snow as I mostly drive in the city. I believe that they aren't worse than Continental TS800 (these are better on dry), Uniroyal MS Plus 6 or Yokohama W.Drive V903. But the previous generation of Polaris was a total failure. The next winter Barums I bought, previously I had Barum Polaris 2, now Polaris 3 Used every day in the mountains, where winter is sometimes worrisome. On the snow the Barum Polaris 3 is sensational, no problems with going up the hill, also keeps grip. In contrast, in dry conditions, due to the soft rubber behavior is very good but not perfect, you can feel the gentle rubber pulling especially when making sudden movements of the steering wheel or making a dynamic overtaking. In conclusion the Barum Polaris 3 tyre in winter conditions is very good. Read more Collapse

Ive benefited from the Barum Polaris 3 tyres for a long time and practically in all conditions - snow, rain, slush, dry, sandy and hard terrain. Tyres not failed me once. Even with large amounts of snow and at a reasonable speed slippage or loss of traction never happened. The only downside is that they are quite noisy, especially on the highway and dry conditions, but it happens with winter tires. Overall Im very happy, tires wear out slowly, so surely last for several seasons. I would recommend the Barum Polaris 3 for sure! Read more Collapse

This is the first season I have used the Barum Polaris 3 so not everything can be assessed, but the overall rating is 5.I drove with a nail in the tyre for almost two weeks every 3-5 days pumping air. I have replaced them for summer tyres after season ends and repaired the one with the nail in it. There was no heavy winter this year, but the Barum Polaris 3 behave very well even on wet road.I personally used Michelins and Goodyears , but for some time I think I do not have to overpay becouse Barum is the one to go for! The Barum Polaris 3 tyres are great for the city use as well as on the snowy roads outside of it, before I read the other reviews I had doubts whether this is a good choice. After driving about 4 thousand miles I can say they are great and would recommend these to others. I tested the car on the ice and can easily drive 20-30mph and stop safely (on ice), so what is more there to say? On the snow or slush the Barum Polaris 3 behave very well,so I wouldnt trade them for any other.I can reccomend these tyres. Read more Collapse

I bought a Barum Polaris 3, which had great anticipation to. However, the price played a big role, and I preferred the new one than a second hand one. Someone said Barum Polaris 3 is quite different than previous models and what a big surprise!. The Snow ReWalk - road holding, braking in curves is flawless. Not much ridden on wet surfaces and do not know how the abrasion is, but as a winter tyre for deep snow - highly recommended. In summary - great value for money. I can highly recommend that tyre. Compared to Debica Frigo 2 - the Barum Polaris 3 tyre is much better on wet, in the snow a bit weaker. But dębica falls on wet. It is quite versatile tyre - on the faster roads far from the top ones like Dunlop or Michelin - also used them but these were not good enough in deep snow. The Barums Polaris 3 are the ideal tyres for a smaller cars used in the city and for the person who drives a reasonably even on snowy municipal roads. The drive on Barum Polaris 3 is comfortable, quiet, well and safe. It's the second season I'm using Barum Polaris 3. I already did a few thousand miles and the tread is almost like brand new, but the tyres lost their grip when starting and going up some hills. Tyres have a problem on the wet, weaker grip. I would recommend the Barum Polaris 3 tyres for people who in winter time use the car to commute to work. The Barum Polaris 3 tyres are performing very well in both large frosts, snows also in part such as during the current winter (2013/2014) when we dealt with a lot of temperatures above 0 and rainfalls. They do not make virtually no noise, nice appearance and look solid. After covering 10000miles on Barum Polaris 3 it is difficult to see visible signs of use. I can easily recommend them. The Barum tyres in the winter version I have used for 6 years. Before I have used the Polaris 2 and the new version the Barum Polaris 3 has improved a lot. While driving on compacted and fresh snow they have a very good grip during rehearsals it was hard to slide in my car. The tyres are very quiet and I have not noticed increased fuel consumption.I can recommend these tyres to anyone. Read more Collapse

Barum Polaris 3 are tyres at a very decent price which do very well in all conditions. The car is stable, there's no problem with skidding when entering the corner at a higher speed, even in the snow. Braking is not a problem. It doesn't lose traction when driving through puddles. Starting is also fine. Generally speaking, Barum Polaris 3 can be recommended with a clear conscience. Read more Collapse

So far Ive used tyres like Kleber and Michelin. On Barums Polaris 3 I drove almost 5000miles in difficult winter conditions in the Alps mountains. I am pleasantly surprised with Barum Polaris 3. In my opinion they are as good as the well-known tyres and are much cheaper which is an advantage. For the second car (Citroen C4 Grand Picasso) I will also buy these winter tyres for sure. I bought a Barum Polaris 3 after good experiences with Barum Polaris 2 and they are great. Only swept out the snow of the garage driveway to open the door, access to the road (200m)in deep snow I defeated without any problem. When it comes to fuel consumption with Barum Polaris 3 on, the difference for the summer is really negligible. I recommend the Barum Polaris 3!!! Read more Collapse

I previously used such tyres in an Astra, they weren't Barum Polaris 3, but the previous generation, the Polaris 2, but I was satisfied with them. I didn't have any problems. They behaved very well on snow, when it comes to ice, there's no perfect tyre for it. All of the above were the reasons I bought Barum Polaris 3 for my Megane. As for now, they're good. Barum Polaris 3 behaved very well in winter. The fact is there wasn't much snow, but once they allowed me to drive out of wet, caving snow. The car drove out of the hole without any problems. I had used Barum tyres in the 60s and 70s on a Jawa CZ 175 motorcycle. They were very good. The rubber compound was flexible, it wasn't difficult to take the tyre off the rim. It didn't wear off too much. Such knowledge about the company's products and good memories of them were the main reasons for me to buy Barum Polaris 3 for my current car. Read more Collapse

As for me, the tyres are "baloons" - they have a very strange profile. You can inflate them up to 3 bars and they stil are "baloon"-like. As for me, they are terrible (one season, 16 thousand miles, Diesel-powered 4-year-old car). They have poor grip in ruts. In my opinion, Barum Polaris 3 are dangerous tyres. Read more Collapse
