Continental WinterContact TS 850 P SUV is a premium winter tyre designed for SUVs. Its asymmetrical tread pattern ensures comfortable travel in winter conditions and guarantees safety even in extreme weather.
The tyre’s designers reinforced its carcass to cope with any type of road and to successfully transfer large forces present when cornering, acceleration and braking. Its tread blocks are larger than those on the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P, which is designed for smaller cars. This enables faster tyre cleaning on difficult terrain and prevents the 'catching' of stones between the tread grooves. The number of blocks has been also increased, which provides more side edges across the tire. This improves grip and stability in snow and slush. As a result, traction is better by up to 5% compared to previous winter tyre models. Continental WinterContact TS 850 P SUV is based on a modern rubber blend that maintains flexibility of structure across a wide temperature range. In addition, sipes in the side tread blocks increase tyre stiffness, which improves communication between the driver and the tyre to ensure better manoeuvrability when cornering. Braking distance has been significantly reduced both in dry and wet conditions. This was achieved by the use of an innovative design of the central part of the tyre, which comes into contact with the roadway. This model guarantees the fast evacuation of water and slush, whereas efficient drying of the tread protects against aquaplaning and ensures good steering regardless of the weather.
