Tyre details:

The Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is a winter tyre designed for passenger cars. The model features a directional tread that ensures outstanding evacuation of water and slush. The tyre also provides guaranteed stability and protection against aquaplaning, making everyday driving safer.

The innovative rubber compound used to manufacture the tyres ensures outstanding flexibility, even at very low temperatures. This means that the Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is characterised by its large contact area with the road, which results in improved grip on snow, slush and ice. The model features a directional tread with V-shaped grooves, which disperse water and slush rapidly and efficiently from under the wheels, improving driving stability and guaranteeing an accurate driving path, even during cornering and dynamic manoeuvres. The Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is an ideal solution for drivers who demand not only maximum performance and grip on all surfaces, but also safe and comfortable driving. The engineers who designed the tyre put a great deal of work into achieving the last of these features. Thanks to the use of an enhanced rubber compound and an optimised tread pattern, the tyre guarantees a quiet drive for both driver and passengers. The Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is designed to rapidly mute any noises generated by the tyre while driving, making for a quiet and pleasant journey.

Firestone is an American brand founded back in 1900 by Harvey S. Firestone and originally headquartered in Akron, Ohio, where Firestone tyres are still manufactured. As well as car tyres, the brand also markets tyres for light commercial vehicles, lorries and agricultural vehicles. The Bridgestone Group became the majority shareholder in the company in 1988. Firestone specialises in manufacturing mid-market tyres characterised by outstanding value for money.

Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is very aquaplaning and side-slip resistant. Good handling in the snow-mud because of the parrallel grooves. The grip properties got worsen on snow when moving-off, braking. When driving my car I feel that the tyres behave stably and it handles the driving track. In general I have to say that Firestone Winterhawk 1 EVO were much better than Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO and they can compete even with the Ultra Grips or Alpins. My car was sticked to the road like glued and there was no snow from which I could not dig out on Winterhawk 1. Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO seem to be a bit worse than the previous ones. They manage to correct few drwaback from the model below but they forgot about snow-drive properties. Read more Collapse

I made just one season 2010/2011 on Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO. In general the tyre is ok if taking the price under consideration. However, they have a bit problems with moving-off on snow. When I was driving back from my footbal training with my 3 friends we had a lot of problems to drive up-hill. I had problems with moving-off from traffic lights on Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO as well. I drive about 10k / year. Besides, Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO did not disappoint me in any other way. Now I bought myself a new car and I will put Uniroyal MS+66. Read more Collapse

Imo Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO is a brilliant tyre for calm drivers. Very awesome handling on dry and wet road surface. I hadn't the opportunity to test them in snow, but I had the previous generation of Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO and they were just splendid. My car sticked to the road and remained stably. It is obvious that Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO are not rally tyres but you'll reach the destination point safely. Imo it is one of the most beneficial winter tyres. I recommend Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO. Read more Collapse

I decided to buy Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO because I couldn't find Nokian W+ anywhere. I have to say that Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO are very silent (low rolling resistance), driving on dry road surface without problems as well, behave very stably. Now some disadvantages of Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO: a bit of ice on the road they lose grip immediately when braking and moving off. In general I can recommend Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO as a tyre which is much better than Debica Frigo that I had before. Read more Collapse

Buying novielties is always risky. When chosing Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO I was influenced by positive reviews about the Firestone tyres. What I can say about Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO: after-snow mud- brilliant. snow - brilliant. Ice - stably handling. Wet/Dry road surface- no excuses. Very low rolling resistance. No problems with moving off in winter conditions. Braking ok (my abs turned on just once). I cannot say anything about the attriction as I made not a huge mileage for now. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO are very good till 75MPH. When you want to drive more than that you have to watch out because the car starts to be over-steered. Just a small move with the steering wheel when driving more than 80MPH is inadvisable. Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO provides very good braking properties. I recommend Winterhawk 2 EVO to all those who like calm driving. For people who like fast driving and andrenaline dose I suggest to buy better tyres. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO are very good tyres. At that price I dont think that anything better can be bought. Winterhawk 2 EVO don't care about snow, rain and wet road surface. None of the tyres available on the market work well on ice. I was worried that Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO can be worse than the previous version which I used for 3 seasons. I dont know if Winterhawk 2 EVO are better than the previous version yet, but for now I am satisfied. Read more Collapse

I got encouraged by brilliant reviews of Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO and I decided to buy them this winter. I had Firestone tyres for summer and I was quite satisfied. My last winter tyres were Michelins. Unfortunately, when I put on the Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO i felt like on the icerink for the whole winter. Even on the dry road surface my ABS did turn on very often. Wet tarmac or a bit of snow - "speeding" over 30 MPH was very dangerous. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO are very good tyres. They behave perfectly on both dry and wet road surface. You have to watch out when the temperature goes higher than 7 C because than the tyre becomes very soft and in corners you can feel like driving on a flat. This year the winter was not too hard so I cannot really judge the quality of Firestone Winterhawk 2 EVO. Very good quality. Very low attriction. Behavior on snow and ice proper, however I think that my calm driving style had influence on that. I think that at this price Firestone Winterhawk EVO 2 is the best choice. Welcome. On dry pavement tires behave well. The problem starts in the snow. During the first winter tire went nicely. There was no problem with driving in the snow, uphill trips not caused any problems. The situation has changed drastically even during the second season. It was harder to move the snow, let alone ice. Now, after three seasons, although 6 mm tread, tires have lost a great deal for the new. It is easy to break traction when starting off. During the anti-lock braking the car still running. Guilty as it is a mixture of rubber, which is made tire. It is very sensitive to aging. Also riding on tires Nokian, purchased at the same time as Firestony, with a similar tread depth and quality of the ride is quite different. Car much better moves and stops on these tires. To sum up: tires can and good, but only for the first winter. This is followed by a rapid loss of their properties winter. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk EVO bought in autumn 2012 and waited with the opinion that przejeździć the season and see it in all conditions. Tire behaved superbly on dry and wet roads, going softly and straight as a rail, but the problem appeared in the snow, slush, on ice not to mention, because no tire on ice does not behave well. The snow and slush there is no safe braking and even possibly moving from the lights is a problem. The second car I Dębica Frigo one axis and the other eight years with Michelin tires quite worn tread and there was no problem. If I chose the second time, I'm sure I would have bought a cheaper Dębica or a stimulant, because this is a winter tire Firestone name only. Read more Collapse

The choice fell on Firestone because I everywhere Nokian W + could not buy. Yes, but to the point, that is, very quiet tires (low rolling resistance), the trip to the dry conditions without reservation, crossed the mud like knife through butter, and remains stable. And now some drawbacks: Even on the icy asphalt loses grip when braking, when you start well but it still goes. Not yet tested in the wet snow - has small cubes (but many sections) and I do not know if it does not become clogged with snow - but these are my guesses when it drops a lot of snow, we will see. Overall I recommend - definitely much better than Debica Frigo, which I had before - (quieter and better results) Read more Collapse

ADAC tests were right - great for snow tires. In extreme conditions really well kept. In dry conditions at temperatures below 5 degrees well kept, ABS rarely had to work. A problem arose when the temperature rose above 8 degrees. At higher speeds (około110 km / h) and tighter curves could behave unpredictably. But the worst behaved in the rain than 5 degrees. Practically every powerful braking ended up tripping ABS-u, and braking very lengthened. The cornering was often feel the front wheels skid. In terms of consumption of these tires are very nice surprised me. Despite the high temperatures this winter have really low wear. Read more Collapse

Tires used two seasons, during which I drove about 5 000 km. The only complaint I have about the volume - on the highway were clearly audible. In addition, for this price unless hard for a better tire. Excellent in dry conditions, but most importantly in the winter season, good job also in the snow. It is true that I drive mostly in the city, but there were trips to the mountains and then also I was not disappointed them. Only once I caught the slip, but it was rather too much wine speed cornering. For a new car (which is on the way) definitely buy again Firestone tires, but this time Winterhawk 3. Read more Collapse

It's time to change tires. Previous CONTINETAL no longer give advice in a typical winter conditions. When buying guided by the well-known brand and of course price. I did not want the tires "made in china" and I'm very happy with the choice. Winter conditions (sometimes extreme) not caused any problem. Snow in all possible options from the bulk to the slush did not cause any trouble which was a nice change from the previous "continentalowej" winter. Moving car on Witerhawk s not difficult, and braking gives you a sense of confidence. Good choice! Read more Collapse

Tires EVO is a good choice for a low price. I'm happy, but you have to keep in mind when winter tyres that with such a low weight of the car which has the Toyota Yaris, the weight of the tire affects the combustion of fuel. Same tires without reservations. What to wear, despite the fact that mainly moved about the city, it did not see too rapid tread wear. Also in the countryside tires coped quite well with driving down the country roads and not cleared of snow behaving predictably. Overall my rating is: 8/10 Read more Collapse

Really very good tires. Finally it snowed, so I can write something. For this money, I find that you can not buy better tires, are well on snow, rain and dry surface. Ice has its own rules, but this tire is also able to cope with. I was afraid that the new EVO version 2 can be a bit worse than the previous version. I drove three seasons with car with rear drive axle and it was really good. I do not know if they are better than the previous one, but I am sure that these are also very good. I recommend. Tires very well. Ideal behavior on dry and wet roads. Be careful when the temperature rises to more than 7 ° C, because the tire is then very soft and in curves or at intersections behaves as if he had broken down.
