Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance Page 2

Have these on an A6 estate since the 20th Jan 15. Have ~11K km on them so far and I imagine there will be another 5-8K km left on them. Even though the car itself is no sports car the tyres give very good grip in the dry, feels well planted in the wet. Worth the money over cheaper sets and with there not being any issues with grip I feel like they should be better than a more premium brand also for the style of driving this car allows. I've used Goodyear Eagles for years as the car came fitted with them since new, since I can't get these anymore, I've found Goodyear efficientgrip Performance tyres to have much better grip on both Wet/Dry conditions than the Eagles, but it does seems a little more noisy when driving with these tyres. I hope to get many miles out of them like I did with my previous tyres, that remains to be see. But, for the prices on here, I've recommend these tyres and this Openeo Website to others. Surprisingly grippy tyre - arching, braking no problem. After the change I couldn't get used to it for a long time. Seems a little less reliable in the wet but this is just an assumption. I don't do wonders in the wet so the actual capabilities of this tyre are unknown to me. It disperses water as it should and generally gives great confidence and steering precision. Very good tyre with excellent handling characteristics, lightweight and made of soft vulcanised material to reduce road noise, especially at higher speeds. The appearance may not be the best but the ride comfort is top shelf. Low fuel consumption and, so far, faultless, also in connection with high ascents and the possibility of troughs with profile 50. In my opinion, it is unrivalled in the premium class of tyres, with an eye on Continetal, Bridgestone or Michelin. Read more Collapse

The tyres particularly pleasantly surprised me in a sudden emergency braking situation on the motorway, which happened to me once - the braking distance was considerably shorter than the car in front of me at the same speed and a collision was avoided. Very good control and grip in corners, also in the wet at high speeds. The only thing I noticed was a strange behaviour when starting off aggressively in the wet - the car seems to 'hop' when the wheels lose grip. Read more Collapse

A "top of the range" tyre. It would be perfect for me if it weren't for one downside. It was supposed to be quiet and it generally is. Hmm..., I don't know how to write it to be 100% understood, but I'll try. In bends and when driving in ruts, when it starts to ride the edges the noise level increases significantly. After prolonged use you can get used to it and ignore it, but initially it is quite annoying especially when one suggests the stated noise level. Read more Collapse

I had intended to buy other tyres. Unfortunately, due to a problem with securing and processing my order, the salesman advised me to buy a GOODYEAR tyre. The tyre surprised me with its ride quality. Good grip on dry and wet roads which gives a confident ride. The tyre is very noticeable, even comfortably quiet when driving. I can recommend the tyre with 100% conviction. I have been driving on these Goodyears since this year and have found them to be very good. First and foremost, the fuel consumption has gone down and I've gone from a tyre width of 195 to 205, but most importantly, the tyres grip both on dry and wet surfaces is excellent :) and the tyres have very good grip on corners and braking. These are my first 'high-end' tyres and I am very satisfied. Cornering behaviour, grip, wet behaviour - no complaints. Economy and noise performance also unchallenged. As far as durability is concerned - after more than 10k I can't see any significant wear, so they should last a while. Overall I am satisfied and recommend them, compared to various tyres I have had before (usually low-end ones) these perform very well in comparison. Read more Collapse

Very good, comfortable tyres. I'm happy with my choice as the car handles well, holds the road and doesn't let me down in 'emergency' situations. They dampen bumps quite well, which in a mega stiff Corolla is quite an asset. Fuel consumption has also gone down, and quite a lot. I wanted to buy Michelin Energy Saver, but the advisor convinced me to go with GY and very well, because there's still money left in the wallet. I recommend. Read more Collapse

Around 2,000 kilometres is not too much to judge, but certainly very good comfort on the motorway and a pleasant softness in town should be mentioned. They perform particularly well on streets with tram tracks. Here, however, a strange phenomenon - despite their softness, they very much transmit vibrations when driving on the tracks to the bodywork. The goodyear efficientgrip performance tyre in size 225/40/18 is a great tyre with low rolling resistance, which in my case has led to an improvement in fuel consumption of 0.5 to 0.7 litres per 100 km, which I am very pleased with :) Both on dry and wet roads the tyre performs brilliantly.... They are more comfortable than the Continental tyres I have used before:) which is important for a 40 profile. I recommend! Read more Collapse

I would definitely recommend it to anyone! The tyre is not the cheapest, but it is a purchase I am very happy with. I was prompted to buy Goodyear winter tyres, which are also very quiet (like some summer tyres). This was also the main parameter of choice. Then the rest; economy, appearance of the tread. Wear evenly with excellent road holding and wet/ dry grip.On my second set of 4 purchased from you. After a long search, I decided on these tyres because I was convinced by the very good test data and the low price, as it turned out after a while for tyres of excellent quality. The tyre handles perfectly when driving over puddles of water and also performs well on dry roads. The wear on the tyre will become apparent after a few thousand miles, but so far so good. The tyre gives a feeling of safety on a wet corner, and I know what I'm talking about because I live in a mountainous area where twisty roads are a daily reality on my commute to work. But it also performed brilliantly when stuck on motorways when we went to Italy on holiday. I am amazed at the value for money. My only concern is longevity, but I can't judge that yet. I have these tyres on the front of my car. I am especially pleased that they are not noisy. So far I haven’t noticed and increase in my fuel consumption. Effortless tyres with low noise and good wet weather grip. Only problem was not the tyres but the fitter who announced after fitting that was extra cost of £5 per Tyre to take away old tyres. Also had to come next day to replace a faulty valve. Read more Collapse
