Goodyear UltraGrip Performance

Have done fewer than 2000 miles and frustratingly the weather has warmed up so unable to rate winter performance. Compared with Ultragirip 8 (different size on a different car) my impression is a little more noise (UG8 were uncannily quiet on a Volvo V60) but good economy and ride. No issues with wet grip, feels a bit soft in the dry but no more than expected for a winter tyre. No hesitation in recommending for the price and no issues on F31 in non-run-flat format. Hello everybody. I bought these tyres partly because of the price and partly due to the reviews on this website. I wasn't entirely convinced. Now, with the clear conscience I can say that Goodyear UG Performance are superb. I installed them when the temperature fell down to about 5 degrees. The driving on the dry - perfect, on the wet by the plus temperature also great. The behaviour on the corners - very good. Snow fell, it became slippery. The tyres perform the best. On the ice - spikes or snow chains ( I gave 4 so the overall result was better as the Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE are really worth recommending). The loudness level coming out during the driving will be satisfactory for the most demanding people. I recommend them to everyone. Read more Collapse

Absolutely amazing tyres. I had the same model and size in Toyota Avensis d4d 150 HP and now I've been driving on them in Ford Mondeo 115 HP. In both cases it was perfect! Now in Mondeo the tyres are treated gently to the speed of 170 km/h, whereas in Avensis up to 230 km/h (TOTAL EXTREME always foot on the accelerator to the full). The driving mostly in winter on the motorways. (Mileage in Avensis after 4 months of using - 42000 km and 4mm of tread remained so they ended their life but many times they saved my life. If somebody has problems with driving on these tyres the problem lies in the fact that one drives some rattle with poor or crushed suspension and this is not the problem of tyres. Read more Collapse

Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE is splendid for winter! Moving off on the snowy surface is a pure pleasure - both when it is a new tyre and slightly worn. Now I have about 5,5mm of tread and through the whole winter season traction control switched on maybe 5 times - which cannot be said about my previous winter tyres (e.g. Michelin). In the corners the car holds perfectly and can be easily cotrolled during the sudden braking. In the slush and on the wet surface it performs splendid - as a typical rain tyre. On the dry surface it is slightly too soft, therefore, one can feel less secure in the corners and during the braking. Besides, on the dry it is too loud - it rumbles. Read more Collapse

Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE is a wonderful tyre. I thought about UG7, the vulcanizator persuaded me to buy UG Performance. I pumped them with a nitrogen. The car became lighter. I checked them in Germany by 200km/h and the loudness lower than in Bridgestone ER300 Potenza which is the best summer tyre on the market. Now, the car consumes less by about 0,5 l/100km. Summing up: Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE are super silent, perfectly tracky and splendid tyres. On the snow I did not tested them yet. I strongly recommend. The only drawback is that in spite of the same size the car became lower (softer rubber) and sometimes it wears down with mudflaps. Read more Collapse

Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE is very good, I can at most agree with my predecessor that it could behave better durig strong braking by high speeds on the dry asphalt - but for the winter tyre it brakes pretty well. In general, it is by all means worth recommending - even for the cars of huge power (my Omega has 286 HP and this tyre transfers even such a power). I will not describe the behaviour in various driving conditions as generally it performs 5 or 6. Nonetheless, I rate a bit higher the directional Goodyear UG-7, which I have in my second car and which to my judgement is the best winter tyre in the world! Read more Collapse

Goodyear UG PERFORMANCE are splendid on the snow and ice. Compared to the summer Dunlop on the water, Performance works much better - nice water retaining. I drove in Carpathian Mountains and Alps on snow so I was also surprised by the greatness of driving the car (only after increasing speed on the 2 gear ESP activates). Drawbacks:the car consumes about 0,5 l/100km more than the summer 225/45R17, driving is worse and braking is much worse at higher speeds. But such are the winter tyres - not for the dynamic driving but for snow :-) Generally recommendable. Read more Collapse

Driving style dynamic which means not aggressive with breaking the traffic regulations but fast, ecological and safe. Place of use is in the city and rambles on the long routes at least once a month. Very good tires. The only remark concerns specific "flow" in the corners (especially in the wet). Braking and acceleration keeps well. Quiet and safe at higher speeds, there is no "beating" on the steering wheel. The snow on the occasion of the aura tested only in the mountains, and despite reservations in tests behave well. Driving on snow and wet pavement at a high level. On a dry bit of a problem for fast cornering (Dunlop Wintersport 3D was better). I've traveled the previous season UG7 which are now probably the best winter tire on the market (for me). UG Performance falls on her background, at least in winter conditions, very weak. Tyres probably picked :) week after reading a few tests and user chose goodyear performance. If attrition will be like in the Michelin PA3 is I will love it. Described as a winter tyre, the tyre is actually autumn / spring. Wet is doing well and is resistant to aquaplaning even at highway speeds. Unfortunately, in winter conditions works very poorly. Snow-covered asphalt hill without chains there's no way. Tyres worth buying but: I only failed on ice and snow. Moving from place almost always "zabuksują". Maybe it's just because it's a slide Slovak production? Rubber is too hard can it? I do not know if this is the cause but unfortunately I had a better winter tyres. The car runs great. And another thing: the wheels perfectly straight weights up to 90 grams. That's a lot. I think I would go to other tyres than the others here. Used tyres completely failed last winter, the snowy road - a few times in my SEAT Toledo buried III which has not happened on the same road at the same time, cars on tyres FRIGO DĘBICA established the Toyota Yaris and Fiat Panda.
