Tyres: Vredestein Quatrac 3 <> Goodyear Vector 4Seasons I have driven around 6,000 km on Vredestein Quatrac 3 tyres in a Peugeot 206 front drive and around 60,000 km on Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. My comments on the Vredestein Quatrac 3 compared with the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons - Vredestein tyre compound: softer, more flexible - the tyre has the symptom of riding on "jelly beans" (a little too flexible); this causes instability on acceleration and at speeds above 80 km/h (temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius), the car drifts to the left or right (it drives to the side, which decreases safety); however on potholes, the damping of bumps is slightly better than GoodYear's because of the higher elasticity; - the tyre parameters describe lower rolling noise (approx. 68dB) compared to GoodYear (71 dB): my experience shows that the Vredestein makes more noise due to the cross sipes - there is an irritating rattle (the tyres act a bit like a resonance box e.g. in a guitar - you can hear the noise amplification through the walls of the tyre filled with air / nitrogen); it is a bit like driving a tractor - in GoodYear this was not the case (V shaped tread) - rolling resistance of the Vredestein Quatrac 3 is noticeably higher compared with the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons (the car drives slower - for top speed, it accelerates slower); I would put the petrol consumption at about 0.5 litres/100 km) - the water evacuation from under the wheels on the Vredestein Quatrac 3 is worse (less efficient / less effective) than on the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. Many users rate these tyres as slightly better than GoodYear, but my experience shows that the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons is the better tyre (particularly in terms of ride comfort). Read more Collapse

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons - I've used them for about 60,000 km in summer (above 32°C) and winter (cold, snow and ice) - they perform very well; compared to Pirelli (summer) and Barum (winter) they give a great improvement in ride quality and comfort; very soft on bumps - great damping on uneven surfaces, very good rolling comfort - the car drives like a limousine; I didn't suspect that the quality of the tyre was so important; Rolling noise - noticeably less than previous tyres - these Goodyears are quiet; you can hear the rolling noise - not the noise of the cross sipes - the V shaped tread is angled which makes it quiet; the disadvantage of the V shaped tread is poor drift during hard turns at high speed; the tyres grip the road very well - hard braking - the car stops almost 'on the spot'. (I had to do emergency braking 3 times). I recommend this excellent product. I will now try to put Vredestein Quatrac 3 tyres on the front wheels (drive) as they have the same labels: "E" and "C" (braking) and a similar volume of 68/69 dB - but a different tread shape - on the front axle they shouldn't bear down on sharp turns. Practice - will show what these tyres are worth. I'll leave the Goodyear Vectors on the rear axle. Read more Collapse

I chose these tyres because of my reluctance to frequent visits to the tyre specialist, and also because of the way I use my car - low mileage in the winter season (up to 3000 km) done mainly in the city. I usually drive further in the summer. The tyres are a decent alternative to seasonal tyres, however - there's no denying - they don't blow my mind. In the dry I have no complaints, although on hot asphalt they squeal a little in corners. On snow it's OK - not much better than on summer tyres, but not as good as on Debica Frigo. I gave the wet rating a 3, but not for driving in strictly wet conditions or on puddles - which these tyres can handle normally - but for driving on damp asphalt. It's simply a drama - several times I've been skiing with the ABS going crazy! Interestingly, when it rains well and the asphalt is very wet, I don't have this problem. So driving on wet asphalt is the biggest weakness of these tyres. When it comes to things like handling confidence, ease of balancing, quietness and ride comfort, it's great. You can tell this is a premium tyre. At 150 km/h, the tyres ride like a string without any discomfort whatsoever. Read more Collapse

I would definitely recommend it - I will not go back to changing tyres twice a year, queues etc. I bought them 18 months ago, mainly because I had both summer and winter tyres to change. I would have had to buy two sets in a short space of time. In addition, the awkward storage of unused tyres in a block of flats, the uncertainty of when to change tyres (+12 degrees in November and freezing temperatures in October, etc.), the queues, etc. I was also encouraged by tests in Autoświat and Motor - in both they had the highest ratings. I drive half and half, 50% in the city, commuting to work, the other half long distances once or twice a month. No snow in the city, more often snow was on estate streets where they don't salt - but there was never a problem with driving out, parking, even in mounding snow. They drive great in the wet. In the dry there is probably a difference with summer tyres - but they are still reasonably quiet. I recommend. Read more Collapse

I changed my car to a Zafira with Goodyear Vector 4Seasons fitted to it, and the tyres are simply great. Both In winter and summer I had no problems. Even when going uphill on snow and ice the did sensationally (on summer one I have been spinning out there, and the corner was even more dangerous). It drains water greatly, redusing the risk of aquaplaning, or something like that (the water in ruts), very stable. I did several thousand miles on them, one third of the distance with the trailer attached they are really durable - taking into consideration the fact that I drive safely. If someone really wanted to find drawbacks, summer Continetal ContiPremiumContacts were quieter and looked nicer - Goodyear Vector 4Seasons looks more like a winter tyre, so it's a fact it's not really beautiful. As for fuel consumption difference, I have not noticed any, and if it is, then it's minimal. I definitely recommend! Read more Collapse

I am writing this review only because of low popularity, and even laughing at all season tyres by some users. The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons are better than just good. In winter they behave like winter tyres - I also used them in mountain area. I had problems with traction twice - on a 10-inch layer of wet snow in the parking lot (but I drove out without any help and didn't waste time as other drivers did). I was afraid that I'll pay the price of good winter grip in summer. But nothing like that happened, I didn't notice the tyre to be softer than typical summer tyre (to cope with this partially, I bought the tyres with higher load index for this size - 94V XL). in corners the drawback of directional tyres can be seen, which is worse side grip. it's hard for me to assess abrasion, because I do not change the tyres so often to see the difference (15 thousand miles per year). I got these tyres in the showroom with the new Seat Leon 1.9 TDI. I was afraid of winter season - and it turned out I was wrong. I was thinking about selling them but I read some tests and reviews of these tyres, and I decided to give them a chance :-) The tyres behave sensationally in winter conditions. I used them both in the city and in the mountains and on icy residential area streets. I've never got into a slide on them, and never got stuck in the snow. They grip the road better than Firestone Winterhawks that I have on my second car. Of course, every driver should have more common sense in winter conditions... I can recommend them more for winter than for summer. I have better sense on summer tyres. For those who have typically urban-character cars and don't drive fast in the summer, Goodyear Vector 4Seasons are perfect tyres. You don't need to change them! Read more Collapse

Hello. After 4 years of use, I can judge and not very well. In the first two years, they worked well. On dry and wet pavement in the mountains in the snow they could handle, but on a sharp mountain I did not drive (to the half) on winter tires I would drive because other cars could handle. In the 3rd year, I started to have problems with the grip on the road in the wet. In the 4th year it was a disaster after the warranty On dry pavement, they squeak every time you start moving, you can feel slippage and ESP is activated In the wet you have to be very careful when turning. All the tyres are cobwebbed, the rubber has started to crumble and has become hard rubber. With 4 people on the road, the tyres slip when starting in the wet, summer period 65,000 km driven tread wear near the first level by winter Read more Collapse

To be honest, I bought these tyres on the basis of other people's opinions, although I was a bit afraid of all-season tyres on a car that I would use all the time...- I don't regret this decision, as these tyres are simply brilliant!!!! They really do handle a lot of different conditions...- going uphill in winter, on icy or snowy roads, is not a big problem for these tyres... Same with driving on wet roads.... So, if someone has a dilemma and doesn't drive very much yet, plus doesn't have the desire or funds to change tyres or whole wheels, this is really the ideal solution...!!! I recommend!!! I am very satisfied, although of course tyres are not cheap... -but Goodyear, is simply in the super league...- and if you want to save money, you will probably change your tyres often.... :-( Read more Collapse

I have used this tyre for almost two seasons. If you're not driving crazy in the summer, you can go for it. On snow, the performance is at the level of a good winter tyre, with absolutely nothing to fear. Ideal for transitional conditions. Only in hot weather it feels like a non-hard summer tyre, but for normal driving it offers at least a sufficient safety margin, even when driving fast on motorways or winding roads. Very good in the wet (winter and summer), quiet, no problems with balancing. And most importantly: You always have snowproof tyres on your wheels, no problems with early or late changes and no queues to the vulcaniser. No need to remove and store two sets of seasonal tyres, which tyres generally hate. A very good choice for normal cars and normal drivers. Read more Collapse

They say that if something is designed for everything, than it's useless. However, Goodyear Vector 4Seasons are a complete denial of this statement. However in the size 195/50R15 they caused problems in winter to me. They were slipping a bit - I sometimes felt that I'm driving like riding the sledge - they coldn't handle a thin layer of slush (by this term I mean fresh snow, slightly melted, forming the specific "mud"). To my surprise, even in difficult terrain (rural dirt roads) on snow they behaved sensationally. Their definite drawback is that in the third year of using, which has just began, they have small, but numerous damage in the tread. Apart from winter I can't complain (they're maybe a bit louder than normally in summer). Read more Collapse

I've been using Goodyear Vector 4Seasons on my Fiat Bravo over two years now and for me this tyre is great not only in summer, but also in winter! I got to like it so much that now I bought a new set for my wife's car (a VW UP!). In summer, braking distance may be a bit longer than on a typical summer tyre, but on wet winter roads it performs great! In winter, for example, i had a feeling of better driving on all season Goodyear Vector 4Seasons than on the typical Barum winter ones! For me the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons are sensational, also when it comes to rolling resistance and low fuel consumption. Read more Collapse

I got these tyres together with my Golf VII, which means I'm doomed to use them to the end. While they work well in the summer on dry roads, on wet roads you can't move from an intersection without grinding the wheels. In winter on wet snow they are a disaster. They are noisy, especially when driving fast on the motorway. My old tyres Continental ContiWinterContact TS850 are 10 times better than the new tyres (for winter conditions). If you are looking for a tyre for the whole year, and the winter is mild, you can buy them, but during a snowy winter, it is better to keep the car in the garage. Read more Collapse

I trusted the tests, despite a terrible review of these tyres on the Web, and I was not disappointed, October snow won't surprise me anymore, You still need to balance the wheels, but not when there are queues for tyre changing, no more tyre change! Goodyear Vector 4Seasons are very good for snow, ice and rain, how will they do on hot days - I don't know, according to the tests they are not very loud and fuel consumption raises only slightly, so if you have both sets worn off, don'tt even hesitate, buying Goodyear Vector 4Seasons is cheaper and you won't have to change the tyres anymore. The tyre is loud, compared to summer Continental ContiPremiumContacts and winter ContiWinterContacts, but in comparison with, for example winter Uniroyals, they are great. There's no problem on snow, I drove on them up the hill on snowy road, on which there was an order of using chains, without using snow chains. As for my sports driving style, the grip in the corners is a bit too weak, the car can swerve to outside lane when exiting the bend. During normal driving, up to 80 MPH, it's not noticeable. Clearly audible in summer, if loud or not - it depends what tyre was used before :-) Read more Collapse

If you do not drive a lot (about 10,000 a year) and do not live near the Arctic Circle, this is an investment for several years. In my car this tyre makes a slight noise on the rear axle (but this may be a matter of car construction, as the tyres are not so audible from the front). In summer heat and sudden braking - you have to take it very seriously! (but where in Poland can you accelerate properly). Other than that, I'd say it's the best all-round multi-season tyre. Aquaplaning - it shreds water like mad. First snow - no problem with bends when driving moderately. Read more Collapse

Frankly speaking, I bought Goodyear Vector 4Seasons out of pure laziness and unwillingness to change tyres every season. The tyres never let me down since I've been using them (spring 2010). In summer, they're a little bit louder than typical summer tyres, fuel consumption is maybe 0,1, max. 0,2 l/100 km higher. In autumn they surprised me with their grip on wet surface. When irt comes to their behavious in winter, I don't have anything to complain about, good grip on snow allows full control of the car. There are no problems to even drive out of snowdrifts. Gooyear Vector 4Seasons is a very good tyre, I can recommend it to everyone! I have been using one set of these tyres on a Fiat Bravo for three years now, and I recently fitted the second set to a VW UP! As for me, the tyres are very good! Especially in winter they are really cool and for me car car handled better than on a typical Barum winter tyre. In summer braking distancea is a little bit longer than on a summer tyre (compared to summer Michelins I had on the Bravo). On wet the tyre is superb, no aquaplaning! Read more Collapse

The size 195/50R15 seems to be too wide for winter conditions - I experienced problems when starting up the hill and sliding in fresh, "icy" snow, they are also prone to light swerving. Generally, however, I'm surprised because of the versatility of these tyres. Together with sensible driving and chains in the trunk (for emergency purposes) we have happily survived the winter. In summer, no matter if the surface is wet or dry - no problems. To sum up, I can definitely recommend Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. Read more Collapse

The tyres are good but have a maximum service life of 3 years in winter conditions... After this period of time, even though the winter indicator is about 1 mm away, meaning the tread height is about 6 mm, the tyres start to crumble and the rubber hardens. In the summer, when it rains, the grip decreases, especially when starting and braking... Generally good tyre for people who drive a lot, i.e. max 3 seasons and then replacement. I used them for 64,000 km during 3.5 years. Read more Collapse

As long as the road is dry, the tyre performs well, with good lateral support, fairly good braking, but less well on acceleration. Quite loud despite the claimed 69 dB On snow and mud there is nothing to complain about, it is very good. However, on wet asphalt, it is a massacre, the tyres slide, it is difficult to feel the moment of losing traction and during emergency braking the car flies like a bus. Read more Collapse

I bought the car with these tyres at 127000 km in 2010 and they were 5 months old. I had to replace 2 of them at 200000 km. The other 2 will last till the end of the season. Super tyres, maybe expensive but I have avoided 10 tyre changes which gives about 500-600 PLN of savings. And I am always prepared for changing weather conditions. Better than summer and winter tyres for wet roads. Read more Collapse

Tires exercise properly in all conditions. For wet and dry asphalt behave confidently, snow and ice are predictable and allow for stress and a smooth ride. I did not feel the difference compared with winter tires on snow and ice. On dry and wet pavement are a bit noisier than summer tires. Very good option for those who do not like change and annual mileage tires are not too high. Read more Collapse

Good all rounder, though will let go quite sharply, with little warning if pushed beyond the limits. Great in snow and in very cold weather (if you know how to drive in these conditions, which most people don't). excellent in the wet, very little aquaplaning unless you hit water over 2" deep at anything above 60mph in which case hang on tight and learn to drive a powerboat! I can recommend Goodyear Vector 4Seasons to people who like "eco" driving in every time of the year. The tyres are soft, compared to typical summer ones, the first impression is perceptible change of vehicle's handling in the corners, which only helps to improve the safety of driving and control of the car. Fuel consumption - without increasing, compared to summer tyres. Read more Collapse

I bought these tyres with a new car, I decided not to change to winter tyres, and I'm not disappointed. If you don't drive in mountain area and on routes which are not clear of snow, it's fine.
