The Nokian WeatherProof is an all-season tyre for passenger cars. It is noted for its good performance in summer conditions and its resistance to skidding in autumn and winter conditions. The model's high performance has been confirmed in numerous tests. Its winter specifications have been tested in Ivalo (north of the Arctic Circle), while its performance at high speeds has been put to the test on tracks in Germany and Spain.

The Nokian WeatherProof has a directional tread pattern, which ensures excellent dispersal of water and slush, making the model resistant to aquaplaning and slushplaning. The model retains stability on snowy roads. Every element of the Nokian WeatherProof has a special function.

The central part of the tread has an aggressive design to effectively disperse water and slush, giving the driver more control over the car in difficult conditions. The blades bite into the snow, thus improving traction. Wide circumferential grooves disperse water and snow to the sides, minimising the risk of aquaplaning.

The Nokian WeatherProof is made from an innovative rubber compound, which retains its flexibility across a wide range of temperatures, ensuring better grip and protection against rapid wear. The model is also available in versions for SUVs and vans.

Nokian

Nokian Tyres is a tyre manufacturer with a lot of experience in the sector. The Finish company cemented its place in automotive history as the first company to launch the winter tyre. It is currently renowned for its excellent range of tyres suited to difficult weather conditions. The brand's tyres are most popular in Northern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and North America. As well as winter tyres, Nokian Tyres also produces summer and all-season tyres.

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought these tyres with the thought that our winters are getting milder and the weather in our country is less and less stable, so universal tyres are more prepared for different road conditions. The tyres have been tested on dry, wet surfaces and during the early frosts. When it comes to the wet surface, the grip is excellent, the tyre literally bites into the asphalt and the control over the car is certain, and stable and safe driving, also during fast cornering, the car does not tilt too much. Besides, it is also the merit of multi-link suspension. As for the dry surface, here the summer tyres have a slight advantage, I get the impression that there is a bit better braking, but when the surface of a more wet Nokian WeatherProof makes it drive safely. It compares it with the previous one. the tyre which was a typical summer tyre (Continental ContiSportContact 3). The noise in the middle of the car at a speed of ~ 100km / h is a bit smaller than on Continental tyres. In turn, the rolling resistance and damping of vibrations on our rough roads is comparable to the above mentioned tyre, that is, it is good, and even very good, taking into account the paved surface and the low profile of the tyre. Of course, I could express the full opinion only after checking the tyre in winter conditions. That's why I recommend the tyre the most, but with the caveat that it was not used during the winter. Pleasantly surprised. I approached the purchase of a multi-season tyre with a distance, but a year has passed, so I can issue a reliable review. Beginning of 2018 traveled around 18,000 km, Clio 3 power is over 100 HP. The speed tested is 200 km / h, it sticks to the road. Increased tyre performance above highway speed. Autumn in the wet - great, I also have winding roads. Winter without snow, but with frost - perfect, after snowfall is decent, keeps traction and the path of the ride. In my opinion better than Barum Polaris 3, but after the tests it is also a great tyre. It is possible to ride on ice, but do not violently turn and brake, but without a spike this is the norm. It requires more caution on slush, but I do not know what tyre it would have to require. I have four tyres and I do not see signs of wear, there are lamellas, there is a boundary set of such small protrusions. Some silicone for tyres, possibly a washcloth, and again they are like new. If you spend most of your time in the city behind the wheel, I do not see the point of buying two sets of tyres. These tyres work great on urban roads, but also on the highway. However, they are louder than, for example, Dunlop Sport Maxx, but at the same time much more durable. The difference in volume can be heard mainly on the highway, on wet surfaces and on curves. I did not drive 6000 km on them, but no signs of wear. No matter which surface - sensational grip. Well, maybe off the ice, but no tyre in these conditions will help. Although these are not cheap tyres, we do not need to buy two sets of tyres, only once in a while to balance them and replace them with axles. Pros: - grip, - economics. Cons: - noise - price. I'm glad that I came across a good promotion, because I would not be able to afford premium class tyres at a normal price. Only slightly more expensive for one tyre than the previous ones and sensational impressions. Noise - I stopped thinking about it. In the city and on the route on a dry fault but in the mountains on the mud and stones revelation. I had the impression that slip does not exist. My station wagon went uphill, where larger cars had problems. The engine was warming up to 110 degrees, what in the mountains is normal for this load and the tyre is good? I do not think I will buy any more because I do not know if there are better ones. Read more Collapse

I have had these tyres on my car for about 3000km. The car handles comparably to how it handled with my Dunlop summer tyres so very little trade off. The fuel consumption is identical too so as a direct replacement for a summer tyre there is little difference that I have noticed. I don't tend to push the car too much (100km/h speeds on twisty roads) so I can't comment on how they compare at their limits. We have yet to have snow and ice so I can't comment on the snow grip but if they perform as well as the reviews suggest then they should be a good all rounder for the generally moderate Irish weather. Been tempted to try winter tyres for a few years and finally opted for these all season ones this year as they wore out in October rather than june like they normally seem. An all season tyre sounded like a good compromise. Very impressed, fitted the week before we were hit by a weeks snow, and lots more snow had this year, excellent grip and will be fitting these on all cars in future. lose a bit of fuel economy but the safety gains are worth it. could be worth changing to summer tyres but I've not got the space to store a spare set of wheels so probably just leave them on all year round Read more Collapse

So far, I've been looking for some used tyres at a good price to "get over the season or two". I decided to invest in all-season tyre. A colleague from work recommended it to me and it was a bullseye! Great grip on dry, high comfort and combustion has dropped! As for the wet surface it is also impeccable, there is no aquaplaning effect, the car sensationally brakes even during a downpour and driving in water! If someone is looking for solid tyres at a reasonable price, he should take this model as much as possible :) Read more Collapse

nokian is to be a multi-season tyre. I have not driven yet in winter but a multi-season tyre behaves like a winter tyre used in the summer. good grip, quiet tyre, perfectly suppressing vibrations while driving, the tyre is aesthetic, nokian replaced me with multi-season hard and very loud goodyear tyres. The car's power dropped by 20% due to rolling resistance, the consumption of 6.5 liters increased to 7.5 liters. I recommend tyres for driving on poor surfaces, they are soft and perfectly damp vibrations. Read more Collapse

I am a user of these tyres for several months and during this time I made about 3000 km on them and I can assess how they perform on dry and wet surface, so on dry, it's a bit worse than summer tyres (I consider Michelin tyres in a second car) ) and on a wet tyre much better than the tyre mentioned above. Nokian WeatherProof tyres are more stable on wet roads and braking distances are shorter. At the moment, I recommend the Nokian WeatherProof tyres the most. We will see how it will perform in the winter. Read more Collapse

Somewhere I read a Finnish tyre manufacturer a subsidiary of Nokia. As the Finns have enough snow and ice to test I thought they could make good ties. Well that's right, I notice that the tyres have good grip in all Dutch conditions. I chose tyres for four seasons I think that gewissel nothing. Even with the little snow that fell here I drove them, even it they did not disappoint. Also they make, in my experience little noise. I am happy to do fine, for 4 seasons tyres. Read more Collapse

The first multi-season tyres in my life and I'm impressed. Super ride in winter (snow) as well as spring. The car is driven safely and safely, I will mention that in my car is not ESP and rear drive. I use Nokian tyres for a long time as well as summer and winter tyres, but curiosity I bought multi-season (I damaged winter tyres). Whoever uses Nokian knows that it's really super premium class tyres. The new multi-season tyres are proof of this. I RECOMMEND THEM. Read more Collapse

These tyres are fitted to my 180hp TTID. They performed well in wet and dry conditions of a Scottish winter. My daily commute covers 120 miles of B roads, A roads and motorways. With our recent storms they were also tested in snow and slush. The tyres performed very well. Gripped well and were confidence inspiring. Better than the Goodyears they replaced. Haven't had them long enough to comment on wear but they are a good price for tyres that perform so well. Read more Collapse

I use multi-season tyres for the first time and I am impressed by their properties. The tyres perform like winter tyres at a price of around 800 per set. In the summer seasons are also quite good. Table runner for 12,000 km is almost like new. Moderate noise. It could be less noisy, but it's quite good. The only downside to me is the fact that they quickly become brown and you often have to use a black tyre to keep their beautiful glow of black. Read more Collapse

Great performance in the snow and slush often encountered where I live. I am usually too slow to change back to summer tyres in the spring. Have towed a heavy caravan (train weight over 3.5 tonnes) in temperatures up to 20deg C with no signs of excessive feathering which I have noticed on other brands. Wear in general is very even, with no excessive shoulder wear. Would consider using all year round and not just for winter. Highly recommended. Read more Collapse

Sensational tyres. Proven in all conditions except rain at higher temperatures. There is a revelation on the snow (I can not see the difference between winter Firestone Winterhawk 3 founded in the second car) and even I have the impression that Nokian are more predictable. In the rain also without charge. A quiet and comfortable tyre. If the wear will be at the right level without thinking, the next tyres will also be Nokian Weatherproof. Read more Collapse

Not tested them in snow and ice yet but these were the cheapest of the A rated tyres and so far they drive wonderfully. I've been to Finland enough times to know that Nokian produce top quality tyres. With a temperature range of -19 to +35C and a snow rating they would seem the ideal all season tyre for the UK. High quality tyres. Excellent for those who travel kilometers in the city but also for long journeys. I mounted them on my wife's car since it does not do so many km per year about 12000. We save a lot by not having to change tyres every season. At least 80 euros per year. In addition, they are not noisy and hold well even on dirt roads. In the current car for 7 seasons I used summer and winter tyres from the premium class. There was never a need to leave the city in winter, and it was always cleared of snow in winter. This year, I went to my mind, read tests and bought the best possible all-season tyres. I consider my choice to be optimal. Some of the best tyres I have ridden on and much cheaper than competing brands. Read more Collapse

I have now fitted these tyres on my 2 cars and my daughters car, having previously used top of the range Continental Winter tyres and a second set of alloys with summer tyres. These tyres are everything I need for all year safety and comfort, sorry forgot to say the ride is excellent and they are so so quiet. Well done Nokian, some day all cars will be fitted with these as standard - Read more Collapse

I hope it's a good compromise: I live in L'Aquila, a very cold city, in the winter months the temperature often drops below zero and sometimes the roads are icy; it snows frequently and I also use the car for trips to the mountains. I mounted the tyres in April, so I'll have to wait until next winter to test them in the snow. I tried them in heavy rain and they were perfect. Read more Collapse

I was surprised by the low level of "noise", I could always feel the difference after changing to winter tyres, now on all-season tyres there is no difference, I would say it is quieter. I haven't tested them in any extreme conditions (I'll see how they perform in winter), taking into account our recent winters, if they perform well I'll always buy all-season, I recommend Read more Collapse

These are my first multi-season tyres. The tyres give more comfort than the summer Michelins Energy on which I last used the car, they are quiet, soft and bump-free, cornering grip is faultless, braking gives a feeling of safety. I hope that winter driving will confirm my choice and that the tyres from this company will once again prove to be better than the others. Read more Collapse

I am very impressed with the Nokian Weatherproofs on my Volvo XC70, so thought we'd treat my wife's A-class to a set too. It's done very few miles since they were fitted, but she thought the ride quality and grip were improved as soon as she drove the car. Nice looking tyre, proven to be quiet and grippy in wet and dry. Only driven less than 1000 miles so far in temp ranges from 0° to 15°. No snow yet so cannot attest to its full capabilities just yet. Still not sure whether I should switch to a proper summer tyre for the hotter months, even if they're supposed to be all season tyres.
