Nokian WEATHERPROOF SUV is a premium, all-season tyre. It was designed to ensure the highest level of safety in difficult road conditions encountered throughout the year. It is designed to provide a responsive drive on summer roads, and a super-safe driving experience on winter roads too.

Nokian WEATHERPROOF SUV uses a directional tread pattern which provides an all-round performance - for all seasons. The small incisions on the tyre surface called sipes effectively bite into the snow. This improves “pulling away”, braking and accelerating and reduces stopping distances on slippery surfaces. Optimized circumferential and lateral grooves evacuate water and slush, which protects against the dangerous phenomena of aquaplaning and slush-planing. This makes the car easier to control, and to safely navigate hazardous winter roads, and wet summer roads too.

Nokian WEATHERPROOF SUV uses a flexible rubber compound, and this provides excellent adhesion in a wide range of temperatures and has increased resistance to wear. This model has been tested in the Arctic Circle in Ivole (in terms of winter performance) and on the tracks in Germany and Spain (to optimize summer performance).

Logo Nokian

Nokian WEATHERPROOF SUV is made by Nokian Tyres, a tyre manufacturer, which hails from Finland. The company is famous for the first launched winter tyre. Currently, this brand offerings include not only winter tyres, but also year-round and summer tyres too. Nokian Tyres tires are a popular tyre brand in Northern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe Russia and North America. They are included in the premium class category- characterized by the highest performance attainable, and are manufactured using modern technology. Nokian Tyres prove themselves in the toughest conditions.

I can only speak about these tyres in comparison to several years of at-s geoladers, so also universal ones. I changed tyres despite the quite high tread. after the first icy snow it was simply impossible to ride (effortless drift). The first surprise was a significant reduction in noise over the entyre speed range. On dry surfaces, these are the best tyres I've had (over 20 years of driving different cars), virtually no aquaplaning on puddles 5-7cm, speed 60km / h. The disadvantage is very strong water dissipation - the dirt on the rear window is incomparably greater than the previous ones. at the moment I find, after solid snowfall, that traction and braking on even snow is safe - of course within reason. certainly hold better than the winter oak trees I had in the previous car. when it comes to fuel consumption testing on the same route the same vehicle with geo at-s tyres with roughly the same pace, fuel consumption dropped by about 0.7 l / 100km Read more Collapse

I can only say what a great tyre in the wet and snow. My Evoque came with Pirelli Scorpions, a well promoted and respected tyre but within the first couple of days driving on the Nokian all weather in the rain I found my confidence in the Land Rover handling was markedly higher. In the dry the grip is extremely high and precise. Not an easy tyre to find in the UK due to its lack of exposure but in the continent it is well know and seems to have a god reputation. I will definitely be buying these tyres in the future. Read more Collapse

Wanted an all year all season tyre and this one comes out well in the tests. Only had them a short time and it's been wet and warm this winter so far so can't give a definitive opinion on much really!. However, good driving feel on the motorway, sure footed in the wet, comfortable and quiet. Confident that it will handle any UK snow or slush well. Hard driving in summer would be nowhere near as good as a dedicated summer tyre but then that's the same for all blocky tread patterns. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I used the tyres with an automatic transmission, so with a rather less aggressive driving style. As year-round they perform very well. The tread appearance seems to be typical for winter tyres, but paradoxically they perform well on dry and wet roads, maybe even better. They can handle it in the snow, but without madness. I haven't noticed premature tread wear, even though it seems soft. Generally, they perfectly fulfill the task, according to me they are great all-season tyres. Read more Collapse

Replaced OEM Yokohama Geolanders on Subaru Forester with Nokian Weatherproof SUV and the Nokian tyres are far superior in the wet. The tyres are quiet and comfortable and I have not noticed any decrease in fuel economy. Only used in deep snow once but the grip was fantastic. Wear seems reasonable - thread depth gone from 8mm to 6mm in 16,000 km. They also look fantastic and the wear indicators showing the remaining thread depth are really useful. Highly recommended. Opinion from outside the UK

I have driven over 5,000 km. on these tyres - both winter (in the mountains) and summer by the sea. It was a very good choice. They do well in the snow and in summer. The difference between these tyres and pure winter tyres is small (the braking distance is slightly longer). The only minus is the noise level of the tyres, which at any speed is higher than in summer tyres. I recommend. Read more Collapse

I recommend these tyres for users driving mainly in the city, but also in the mud these tyres do the trick, it is not known in some extreme conditions. They are quite quiet, definitely quieter than what I had before. Overall, I'm very happy with these tyres, we'll see how in winter. Read more Collapse

On dry they don't hold as well as summer ones, probably due in part to the aggressive tread (wide drainage channels). In the rain almost as good as Rainsport. At temperatures around zero they do not lose their properties, in winter conditions it was not possible to check. Read more Collapse
