Semperit Speed Grip 2 is a winter tyre designed for the sporty, highway and family cars. Semperit Speed Grip 2 ensures perfect traction and grip on the snowy and icy roads. Owing to the high fuses density, the tyre is characterized by the splendid traction in winter conditions. The fuses flexibility ensures good lateral grip. The braking distance is shortened due to the fuses’ net which drains off the water and slush successfully. Additional gripping edges ensure improved interlocking of the tire on snowy road surfaces which contributes to increased grip during accelerating and braking. Straight sipes’ design in the centre section through optimal scraping edges ensures highest braking performance on icy road surfaces. Strong supporting effect with longitudinal and lateral forces through interwoven block structure ensures sporty driving experience on dry road surfaces. A 3-phase, high performance compound resistant to temperature’ changes provides a splendid performance on icy, wet and dry road surfaces.

Semperit is an Austrian company founded in 1910 with the headquarters in Vienna. Since the 1985 the company is a part of the Continental concern and nowadays it employs more than 6500 people. Opinion from outside the UK

It is true that i have Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 only a few days, and the real winter is not yet here, but already scored two big trips 800-900 miles each, so I can say something. First of all those surprised me with very little rolling resistance. As the steering wheel seemed lighter than in the summer. My car consumes less than on summer Semperits and Michelins!!! It is hard to believe. TheSemperit SPEED - GRIP 2 are quiet (just above 90 mph you can hear that these are winter tires) and fairly soft, but in a pleasant way - nicely cushioned and car dancing on the ruts. That means summer Michalins are a bit more stable in the corners, but i felt it only on dry. My car is Sharan 1.9 TDI 150 hp, so heavy and powerful vehicle. It rained a lot recently and I have to admit that these winter tires on the water feel very good, the car brakes and ABS incredible will not turn on. ASR Traction also I did not turn on. So far I can not say anything bad about them. I do not judge the appearance of the tire, because it's crap, but about the durability yet know nothing. For sure I will write after the first strong snowing (I'll probably have 10 thousand miles by then). Meanwhile, I recommend to all those who want the comfort of the tires and safety in the wet. Opinion from outside the UK

Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 are just experiencing their fourth winter season. The fact that this is the last season for these tires. I have driven on these winter tyres about 40 000 km in the city, road, highway, on dry, wet and snow. The tire is doing very well on snow-covered roads. Carried me out safely. I have a comparison to Kleber, bridgestone, continental for different car models and i can really recommend Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2. I am very happy and I was not disappointed so far on its effectiveness. I have a different driving style but in those situations in which we need most grip, emergency handles perfectly. Interacts with the brakes on my car very well (especially the writing because of the experience with the same tires on different cars and no one is convinced that the brake specific car model is of great importance) Abrasion resistance according to me it is good. Tread Depth is very good despite the many thousands of miles of dry roads. I would recommend. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 held on to the road perfectly. Whether during snow or rain, and I have a comparison with the good tires (Snowtrack3 - Vredestein) - they are even slightly better on wet asphalt maybe, but the differences are not clear and may be subjective. Comfort - sensational. In contrast, the extra load version - (because that's bought on the bus) I expected at least a little stiffness and here were disappointed. They are so soft that it's scary sometimes. The second pair I have Vredestein - Snowtrack3 and yet it seemed to me that Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 are soft - because they were much softer than the previous Toyo. So far - as compared with Vredesteins, Semperits seem soft. We have been driving for skiing trips with 7 people in the bus and they came out to be durable, so it might not be so bad, but "wear" on the sides was more noticeable - used not for very long time (5k miles).. Opinion from outside the UK

I drove a few thousand in various conditions on Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 and I have to admit that the tire is extremely quiet as winter tyre! It is quite soft and comfortable. But what most surprised me is the decline of combustion in relation to the summer Michalin tyres. That may of course be due to the fact that on winter tyres you drive a bit slower, but both me and my wife noticed that on these tyres you can feel lighter steering and better handling. The tire is sensational on wet and slippery surfaces, didn't yet tested those on the snow though. Drawbacks? MAybe a bit sluggish cornering. Maybe it's because I have a 1.9 TDi 150 PS (154 hp and 367 Nm on the measurement of dynamometer) and 1800 kg galaxy. Either way I would recommend. Quiet, comfortable and great for wet and slippery roads. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Hi, I bought Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 in 2010, along with the car. For the first two seasons of winter everything was ok in the third started a problem with balancing wheels. The vibrations on the steering wheel after 3 attempts in decent workshop didn't work out. Vibes are lesser but still present. I would add that the suspension brakes and everything was checked and was fine. As for as the behavior on the road they are to be recommend. I've never had a problem with the slush or snow. For dry and wet those are also very good. The second car I got new Michelins Alpin P3 and were no better than those even though more expensive. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Got Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 fitted on a 1500kg car. The sidewalls of the tires are compared with Bridgestone, etc huge contingent of firm construction which may feel bit too solidlike. Unfortunately those tyres weren't very quiet. Eventually Bridgestone Blizzak L-25 were mounted and the issue was resolved. The car is a lot more stable than on Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 rubbers. previously passed on these tires three full seasons Dacia Duster (course for three and a half years of use tires were still in moderate condition). Same I bought Semperit SPEED - GRIP 2 tires for Skoda Octavia III, drove one season, my mom still hope to withstand at least two. Read more Collapse
