Yokohama A539

I've done quite a lot of driving on these tyres and at times they are dangerous in the rain (they slip on paint, e.g. on a painted pedestrian crossing) but not only. My Pirelli SnowSport 210 winter tyres are much better. Maybe the reason for this is the larger tread width, and thus less contact pressure with the road. In the dry they are faultless. In the wet you have to be careful (I don't know why someone already pointed out that they are underrated in the wet? - I confirm that this is the weakest point of these tyres. They are not suitable for winter use at all (terribly hard at low temps) but no one should use summer tyres in winter, so this is just for curiosity's sake. Just to add, I have the same tyres on the front but in size 195/50 r15 - rear 205/50 r15. In general, their parameters are very similar to my previous Yokohama A509 tyres, only the 509s have a nicer tread, as for me. Read more Collapse

Superb tyre for dry asphalt. It is unrivalled at hitting fast corners and is very predictable on long curves. It sticks to the tarmac and you can really go fast on it. When it comes to driving in the rain, you have to be careful because you can make a mistake very quickly, definitely vredstein would do better in the rain, but when it comes to dry asphalt this tyre is second to none. The tyres are very decent, unfortunately they are not predictable in the wet. Today I was driving down a bridge on a snail trail and the tyres were slipping on the metal joints in the road.) on dry asphalt they do a great job. Hi. I and many other drivers use these tyres as sport tyres and it is an amazing tyre. Holds very well in the dry and wet, also works well in the rain. It has reinforced sidewalls so it is stiff and does not go sideways. In addition, the tyre can be regrooved to extend its life. Read more Collapse
