Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T-S G012

Tyre details: The Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T-S G012 is designed for 4x4 vehicles. The unique aggressive tread pattern guarantees superb performance both in off-road settings and during everyday trips. The compound used to manufacture the tyre is notable for its outstanding resistance to wear and high temperatures, meaning that the tyre delivers maximum performance during dynamic high-speed driving and retains the necessary rigidity and anti-slip characteristics.

An internal steel belt, improved bead design and reinforced sidewall offer guaranteed resistance to mechanical damage. The strong blocks in the tread centre ensure outstanding steerability and superb grip, regardless of the weather or road conditions. They are arranged diagonally to ensure that driving stability is maintained even when driving on difficult, uneven surfaces. The dense network of grooves on the tread rapidly disperse water from under the tyre, increasing driving safety and reducing the risk of slipping and aquaplaning. The grooves also ensure that the tyre can use its self-cleaning capabilities to remove slush and stones. The designers of the tyre were keen to ensure slow and even wear, meaning that the full range of performance values can be achieved throughout its lifetime without any concerns about loss of specifications or grip. The reinforced shoulder pattern which overlaps onto the sidewall of the Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T-S G012 help to improve performance on paved roads and when driving around the city.

The Yokohama Rubber Company Ltd. is a Japanese-owned company which was founded in 1917. It is the seventh largest tyre manufacturer in the world. It is the second largest tyre supplier of tyres in the Land of Cherry Blossoms. The tyres which leave the company's production lines are intended not only for passenger cars, but also for vans, lorries, 4x4 vehicles and racing vehicles. The brand specialises in designing and improving UHP tyres.

    Opinion from outside the UK

On dry road Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 are comparable to the originally equipped ones, maybe they are just a bit more noisy. In off-road conditions they work better than the factory euqipped. I was very curious how Geolandar A/T-S G012 are going to work in winter conditions. I noticed that in the +5 temperature they are better than winter tyres - they grip the tarmac very well. Very good grip while moving off even on a coplete "white" road. The only problem is braking on the road covered with snow - no grip at all - drama! To sum up, Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 are great tyres for those who like off-road driving but only in spring until late fall. For winter you have to buy winter tyres. Read more Collapse

I have them fitted in my Nissan Patrol for six monts right now. I drive them on tarmac as well as off-road. Since 4 months I use them in a deep snow. On the tarmac they are just splendid. Low attriction, very low noise level and very good grip. In the mud they are not MT but they are realy brave. Every winter I go to my house in Polish mountains. Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 are very good even in a deep snow and they work well without chains on. I can compare Geolandar A/T-S G012 to Bfg MT which I used 2 years ago and I have to say that BFG were excellent in mud but poor on tarmac. To conclude I am very satisfied with my Geolandar A/T-S G012 and I can recommend them for sure. Read more Collapse

I made about 9000 miles on Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012. They are nearly quiet but it doesn't affect the driving comfort. After 9000 miles I did not notice any visible signs of usage (only the side quares got rounded a bit). Geolandar A/T-S G012 work well off-road and on-road. Even the most sharp stones dont cause any damage. I decided to buy them because of the reviews that people wrote about their winter properties... and they fooled me... On ice or snow these tyres act like a bag of wheat (comparing them to hockey skates would be a big compliment for them). Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is ok only when you can afford a second set of winter tyres. Read more Collapse

I use Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 mainly in the summer - for winter only winter tyres work well - there are no all-puropuse tyres. Geolandar A/T-S G012 are very comfortable, they grip to the road like glued to it no matter if it is a tarmac or off-road mud. Very durable and damage resistant. I am talking about normal usage in the off-road conditions, not extreme mud drowning or rock climbing. Going to Croatia or Italy on Geolandars A/T-S G012 you won't be shaking or wobbling while driving on the highway and when you will go off-road you are going to feel yourself comfortable and safe. Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is a very nice compromise between a on-road and off-road tyre. It is obvious that they do not work as well as BFG MT but Geolandar A/T-S G012 fights with the mud very brave. They are a bit noisy on the tarmac but the sound is very "noble" and with connection with my diesel engine it adds a bit of charm. They grip to the tarmac very well. Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 does not like snow and ice therefore I have a second send of winter tyres. Read more Collapse

I use Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 in very different conditions. Off-road : very good performance, they dig out my car from a lot of deep pits. Obviously they dont have such properties as MT or SST but they work very well. I think that Geolandar A/T-S G012 is one of the best all-weather, all-terrain tyres avaliable on the market atm. In addition they work very well even during winter. I strongly recommend Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 Read more Collapse

I have Yokohama Geolandars A/T-S G012 fitted in my Nissan Pathfiner (2006 year, 17inch). Very good alternative for the fabrique ones. Driving during winter in french alps was not a big issue to them, the same in city. I dont drive in a very difficult terrain but I do drive in forests and I have to face deep muddy puddles. Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 are very durable. I would recommend them to people who sometimes like to go off-road. Read more Collapse

Versatility of Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is just splendid. They are off-road, on-road winter tyres and actually it is true. If smbdy is looking for all weather ATs which will work well also in snow I advise you to buy Geolandar A/T-S G012. Everyday I am driving off-road and on-road (way to my home is a stone chipping road) and I am very pleased with their quality. I strongly recommend Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012. Read more Collapse

Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is very good. I checked them on snow and no skids. Moving off- very good. The only disadvantage of Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is that the tread could look more aggressive. Depiste that, very nice tyres. They hae to work on and off road not to be showed out. I would recommend Geolandar A/t-S G012 and I actually did recommend them to couple of my friends. Read more Collapse

Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 is just exellent. Superb design. White signs on sidewalls and a huge tread. Very engaging tread pattern and its size forces me to drive into the mud puddles. Obviously these are not typical MTs. On the tarmac they are much more silent than plain winter tyres. 4 grooves drain water very good. I drove just about 500 miles but I am very satisfied. I was hesitating between Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 and BFG. For now I drove about 500 miles 50% on-road and 50% off-road. No signs of usage. Very good grop even on wet road. Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 appeared to be so good off-road that I decided to make couple of agressive manoeuvres and only a huge sticky bog stopped me. Geolandar A/T-S G012 is splendid. Super tire! In winter winter as compared to the most popular A / T BF Goodrich tire is sensational! Over the years, car-4X4 never had a better A / T-tion! In kopnym Snow worked better than winter tires Cooper Discoverer M + S / and they are really great tires /. On the ice slightly, but on the ice without spikes is not strong. The "area" above expectations. In extreme terrain are M / T-eki does not mean that Geolandary A / T can not handle the tough conditions. Above expectations because during last week's trip to the area I decided to drown auto entering the bed of the river and slush created by the outpouring of water from said trough. I was set to use the winch and for the occasion already enjoyed a surprise here, the time of the struggle, when you turn on only the rear auto lock "odkleiło" and went onto the hard ground. Anyone who knows how long it weighs Gelenda with szpejem knows that when you paste it is an art. Due to the really very good impression, now considering the purchase of Geolandaró version of M / T. This is my first A / T ki so I have no comparison. The rough terrain was crazy or not, so it's hard to say whether that be have given. They are quieter than I expected and softer (from my winter tires). Softness is revealed comfort in Krakow holes, but look inflated at a pressure of 2.2. To look OK you need to give them more that is about 2.4. Then the more feel hole. In the middle mud give advice on driveways and digging up the. Slightly hold the sides in slippery ruts of mud, the car was slipping into a rut which is sometimes difficult. Easy to clean. On the road with rocks and fury of grit and sand great! When it rains on the tarmac first class! On dry pavement, too, but you need to take care when cornering, because they are as soft. Fuel consumption increased by 1 liter of LPG / 100 km (Tucson 2.0 140 hp) after changing from winter tires of the same size. Abrasion probably average, some see it, but it's too early for judgment. Like me to go in the forest mountain roads, this is a perfect tire. Solid, which clings well on damp earth, wet grass, gravel and crushed stone, it goes smoothly. For an intermediate Off Road, "reasonable", it is quite a place. On large stones, it does not hang or less. I will redeem happy for this specific use in TT. By cons, attention turns wet, it easily picks. Driving "a bit fast cornering" on dry roads as well. "We must remain very vigilant on tar when cornering become pronounced and we're going a little fast .. This is a great tire, but don ' not like the more or less abrupt behavior. *** Know slow at all roundabouts, especially wet. *** Last, silent at first, it quickly becomes "noisy" (after 5000 km) I forgive him for his many qualities . I would recommend this tire to anyone looking for a comfortable tire to both the city and the town. For someone who is not afraid to get off the asphalt not only cured but also bumpy gravel roads, mud road-course should be common sense because it is not a tire MT. Very versatile-season tire in the snow better than the winter on the ice did not notice slips larger than typical winter tires. Probably depends on driving style. Comfort for a tire AT disputes - the noise did not bother but you know this is not a slik but thanks to that we can confidently pull off the road. Tire for SUV and the SUV, good looks, good on tarmac as well as in light terrain and fuel-after several months of mixed driving 60 city, 40 area could be removed, cleaned and sold as new and got a bit of a hard time lately. I drove on these tires about 80,000 km. In the very different conditions. In the field, I drove my disco for cars armed with MT-hand and gave advice. Mountains only in winter and most up acquitted. Of course, these are not racial winter tires but other cars pulled out of the snow is something świadzy. He visited Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the stones and survived. On the highway they are not annoying - of course not rozijałem speeds above 120 km / h. Tires perfect for people who want to combine driving in the city and off-road. Well they are working on dry and wet asphalt. I rate them very well in the field. Of course in the area subside MT. However, it was not the case that drew me out of the mud, and even with powdery snow. Even deep mud did not stop me, of course, until he is not hung. Worse is on a slippery surface, ie, packed snow and ice, of course. In a word, I would recommend as a universal tire for summer and winter. However, it should be noted that typical winter winter tires will behave better. However, I'm not complaining and I would buy these tires again. Read more Collapse

Tire at first glance, it may make an impression tires loud and clumsy. However, in my opinion, after driving 18 thousand km quite aggressively, I think that is quiet and comfortable. Added to this is the low fuel consumption and tire itself. Sure sticks to dry asphalt, and the wet is slightly worse. Shred them in summer and winter. At first you have to get used to their reaction in the snow but then everything ok. In the field, it's a fairy tale: D. A weak point of the tire and probably other is ice. Overall, great as a universal tire for summer and winter for people riding alternately city and area. I would recommend. Read more Collapse

I drove smoothly (5% meadows and unpaved mountain road, field and forest, the remnants of spring snow and mud pośniegowego, 20% city, 75% of the route, often at night with relatively little traffic to regulatory speeds) nearly 5,000 km. The first assumption was impressed by the volume and hardness on the tarmac, very quickly just wonder, wonder, wonder ... The total average consumption of the petrol Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 for the period amounted to 8.4 l/100km and the minimum night road at maximum speeds of up to 80-90km / h happened to 6.83 l/100km. The tire generally gives advice, but in the wet you have to remember that this was the AT. On asphalt roar more than szosówki, but within the limits of decency. Coming several hours a day on the highway does not want to get out of the car and did not come back;) Pressure on the sands drained to 0.7 atm and after re-inflated all ok.
