The Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyre model is according to me pretty much simmilar to winterhawk 2. In fact, the good behavior of the previous generation prompted me to just such a choice, but pretty soon I realized that it's practically the same. The primary parameter for me to evaluate is the ability to move off on wet or snow-covered roads, the previous generation is of no difference, compared to the summer. The behavior of the car was so much different, after a month of use I went to the MOT in order to check the drive AWD, if it works correctly because those were starting to feel very different from their prodecessor. I decided to drive on the Firestone Winterhawk 3 until the end of the season, i'll be considering selling those and getting something new. In the end I can mention that i was using 2 generation for 3 seasons and have carried them around 40k miles.

Firestone Winterhawk 3 are my first new tires. I expected more from them, I have not tested them in the snow as last year's winter was mild. On dry pavement tire behave very well, while in the wet they lose traction a bit, resulting in a quick turn on the ABS and ESP. The reason for this can also be the vehicle mass (1700kg). As for comfort I do not have any claims, we know what the new tire is new.

Tyres so-so, and the snow rather very poor. Old Dunlopy in another car in the deeper snow give advice, and they rather lime ... At a speed of 50-60 km / h, so the most frequently used gently moaning. Otherwise silent interval

Under normal conditions, perform well in extreme snow and ice already worse. For dry very well at higher temperatures a little too soft even at 5-7 deg C time for replacement.

I drove around 2000 miles with Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres fitted on my car, of which two routes were more than 500m. They behave properly, especially in the snow. Somewhat lsignificant tread wear though, a bit larger than expected, so i can estimate that they would last for another two seasons. Average rolling resistance, which resulted in a noticeable fuel consumption on the road. Average noise level, which the road is a bit cumbersome, especially at higher speeds on dry roads. I'm not sure what the author meant by asking for an assessment of the appearance of the tyre. They look like normal tyres, round, black, with no special frills. To sum up: Firestone Winterhawk 3 are the regular tyres, you get exactly what you pay for.

I live in the mountains near. Disappointing in conditions of rain mixed with wet, in particular the phenomena of aquaplaning and skidding under conditions in which I had not with other tires. On the snow sufficiently good. Overall I would say that in the same price range there are much better alternatives, in particular the Fulda tyres with which I had no doubt the best results. Only later did i found out that there might've been some trouble with wheel alignment so the Firestone Winterhawk 3 may be quite better in the end.
