I can only speak about these tyres in comparison to several years of at-s geoladers, so also universal ones. I changed tyres despite the quite high tread. after the first icy snow it was simply impossible to ride (effortless drift). The first surprise was a significant reduction in noise over the entyre speed range. On dry surfaces, these are the best tyres I've had (over 20 years of driving different cars), virtually no aquaplaning on puddles 5-7cm, speed 60km / h. The disadvantage is very strong water dissipation - the dirt on the rear window is incomparably greater than the previous ones. at the moment I find, after solid snowfall, that traction and braking on even snow is safe - of course within reason. certainly hold better than the winter oak trees I had in the previous car. when it comes to fuel consumption testing on the same route the same vehicle with geo at-s tyres with roughly the same pace, fuel consumption dropped by about 0.7 l / 100km

Replaced OEM Yokohama Geolanders on Subaru Forester with Nokian Weatherproof SUV and the Nokian tyres are far superior in the wet. The tyres are quiet and comfortable and I have not noticed any decrease in fuel economy. Only used in deep snow once but the grip was fantastic. Wear seems reasonable - thread depth gone from 8mm to 6mm in 16,000 km. They also look fantastic and the wear indicators showing the remaining thread depth are really useful. Highly recommended.

I had the opportunity to test the tyres on snow, mud, flat asphalt road, etc. I saw very good results. Low braking distance, low noise economical use, very good adhesion in the mud, tyre balancing rod that can be used 4 seasons without wearing out.

So far, with one moderate fall of dry powder snow, I am more than satisfied with these tyres. They appear to be every bit as good as dedicated winter tyres used previously on roads I know well.

Best tyres I have bought in a long time. Decent tread pattern, quiet and excellent wet grip. Just experienced some snow and ice and seems really good and very reassuring. Highly recommended!

Happy with these. Car feels gripped to the road, have confidence in their ability. Couldn't say whether they are quieter because whats a few decibels, however, they are no noticeably noisy.
