Accelera PHI

The Accelera PHI performs exceptionally well in sporty cars fitted with a high performance engine. The model is made from a rubber compound that maintains optimal flexibility across a wide range of temperatures. This means that the tread maintains excellent stiffness at high temperatures, ensuring driving stability and safety in any weather conditions.

The engineers who designed the model went to great lengths to ensure the optimum distribution of forces acting on the tyre. It therefore wears slowly and evenly, ensuring that the tyre offers optimal performance for its entire service life. The driver therefore does not have to worry about any loss of grip or a reduction in comfort levels as the mileage increases. The model features an asymmetric tread pattern made up of two independent parts, each responsible for different parameters, which means that the model performs well on both wet and dry surfaces. Wide grooves effectively disperse water and guarantee rapid drying of the tread, maintaining optimal grip regardless of the road type and condition. The tyre ribs have been stiffened, which ensures optimal traction features and steering precision. Communication between the driver and the tyre has also been improved and braking distances reduced. The tyre is also resistant to mechanical damage. The Accelera PHI offers durability, reliability and good performance on any surface.

Five circumferential grooves intersect in the centre of the tyre, ensuring driving stability and effective water dispersal. The circumferential channels also have another important role to play as they cool the tyre down, ensuring its full performance specifications, whatever the weather. The compound used to produce the model is noted for its lightness, which reduces rolling resistance and limits CO2 emissions. The model is a good solution for drivers looking for a balanced performance at an affordable price.

Accelera is an Asian brand that has also been operating in Europe for over a decade. It markets its products in over 50 countries worldwide. The brand is owned by the Indonesian group EP Tyres, a company that has been in operation since 1996 and which owns the brands Forceum and Epco as well as Accelera. EP Tyres makes economy tyres, noted for their optimal performance and driving comfort at the lowest possible price.

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought the tyres in August 2013, I drove about 30 thousand km on them. At that time they cost less than 300 PLN each, which is one of the cheapest, so I did not expect anything from them, but I am very surprised with their quality. I have a positive opinion about the grip on both dry and wet surfaces, they don't squeak, they don't slip when starting off or when braking, unfortunately they are not very durable, but that's probably why they grip so well. I think they will last for another 20 thousand km at the most, and then I will have to change them, although I would like to point out that I mainly use the car on highways at high speed. I should also add that they are relatively quiet, they don't throb at all, even after a considerable mileage. Being new, they did not require excessive weighting, also after a whole season a minor adjustment was enough. For those who drive fast, I would add that 250km/h does not make much of an impression on them. Read more Collapse

Purchase made rationally in view of driving style. The tyre is quiet even at high speeds. In wet conditions it can break traction on a curve when accelerating hard, but even 3x more expensive Pirelli tires react like this. This is my second set of oriental tyres, the previous ones were from Taiwan and after 30k they still had about 7mm on them. I am not keen on labels or brands, so I bought Phi. The quality/look/price ratio is sensational. If I had the opportunity I would love to test them on a track to feel the limits of grip. In civilian use nothing bad happened on the road. I really recommend it, because I think that 3-5 years are more than enough for a small man and it lasts about 50-60 thousand km. One disadvantage in my opinion: 7 mm tread in the middle, about 4-5 mm on the sides. I don't know about other brands in 225/45/18 size, because maybe this size is like that, but if other brands have 8 mm tread. Read more Collapse

This is the third set of summer tyres in my car, first there were OEM Dunlop tyres, then Bridgestones. I've covered 4500 km on these tyres and I don't see any major differences compared to the branded ones. Right after fitting them, for the first 50 km they made a slight noise in corners, then it went away. There were no problems with balancing, they fitted very quickly on the rims and nothing disturbing happened. The fastest I could do was 180 km/h in the dry and 150 km/h in the wet. And I can tell you that they are a sensation. They drain water very well in the rain. They are minimally louder than the previous ones (maybe because I listen to them more now), but not really loud. If they are ever available again, I will buy them for sure. You won't buy anything better for the price, and in fact I think paying a horrendous amount for branded tyres is cheating the manufacturers. Regards Read more Collapse

I will soon be recommending 4 of them for my clio dci My only doubt is that the price of the accelerators will increase. OPONEO AND ACCELERA DESERVE TO BE KNOWN. I have no shares in them...... I bought them because of the price and because I like to experiment. For the price, because I like to drift and I don't want to have to worry about the cost of the tyre every time. I like experimenting because I think that even an unknown brand has the right to be tested. As far as this tyre is concerned, as soon as it was fitted in the dry I was impressed, even though it wasn't a continental or a pirelli it seemed honest. Then the rain came and all the tyre's limitations came to the surface. It has no lateral grip and even if I don't accelerate, even with the controls on, the car drifts even at very low speeds. If it rains every now and then in your area, do NOT buy it. Read more Collapse

Great value really good all season tyres that do not look out of place on the Mercedes. These tyres are manufactured in Indonesia and far superior to other budget brands that come from China. Impressive all round and I would certainly purchase them again, they run very quietly on the Mercedes E-class cabrio. They look the part with a very good tread pattern and sidewall which has a decent rim protector for your AMG alloys. Overall, they compare well to the top branded tyres, I purchased a set of four for around £250, that's around half that you'd have to pay for the big names. Recommended, there is nothing not to like about these Accelera's. Read more Collapse

Lat time I bought used tyres with 6-7 mm tread - they lasted just for one season. I bought Accelera PHI because I read a lot of good reviews and I realised that it is no point with buying used tyres from a well-known brand and have them damaged after one season. Accelera PHI works very well - I thought that It would be much worse but I was wrong. It is obvious that they do not work as well as tyres for 100GBP but In my BMW E60 530i they are perfect. Perfect on dry road. Efficient on dry road. I realy recommend these tyres. No sense in buying expensive tyres or used tyres. Accelera PHI is a very good tyre. Read more Collapse

I bought these with the intention of drifting my 911. I use Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on the front, which are very good, and the idea was to make the rear loose by using cheapo tyres. However, with these on the back the car is actually very well balanced. The tyres are wearing well and the grip is fine. I'm very pleasantly surprised that such good tyres can be bought at such a low price. I would certainly buy them again and I if you're an enthusiastic driver like me who wears out tyres relatively quickly, then don't worry about these being low quality because they're cheap, they are actually very good. I've had Accelera PHI tyres for a short time but I'm so happy!!!! On the dry: very good tyre, nothing to say about it because it performs as well as the big brands. In the rain: good tyre for straights but watch out for the lateral grip which is not great at all. If you drive smoothly no worries but if you drive in a rather sporty way be careful at roundabouts, good value for money! Really Accelera PHI tyres can be recommended to all drivers :) Wear and tear: perfect after 10000km. Noise: Noisy at 90km/h when the tyre is new and then it calms down at around 3000km. I just realised that if you want to save on a tyre, you actually have to spend more twice the amount you wanted at first. Accelera is tragic - they are not round - speeding up to 60 - 90 mph they vibrate, you can't ride them normally. At first I thought it was crankshaft support's fault but after switching to another tyres vibrations stopped. Don't buy those tyres! Considering the shop I can recommend it surelly: parcel are being delivered right away good prices. In this case I have to order another tyres of better brand. Read more Collapse

usually a set of tyres, regardless of the manufacturer, lasts me 2 seasons max, so I had a comparison with almost every brand I bought these tyres for the first time (2 years ago) with real fear - I have not been to Indonesia - my tyres have. What I got for a symbolic money was beyond my wildest expectations - these tyres are sensational I recommend PS: I have a 200 km/h limit - the car is from the States, so I can't really say about the behaviour above this speed, but under 200 the car drives with confidence. The car is chipped and has about 200 KW. The tires are 255/35 R18 The tires hold great in corners. The tires have a short braking distance but slip a bit in the wet. I do not evaluate the suppression of unevenness because the car has a rigid chassis and every unevenness is felt anyway. I do not evaluate durability because I do not have them long enough yet. Overall they are much better than I expected. Before that I had Goodyear who cost twice as much but were definitely not twice as good. File comparable. Read more Collapse

Hello everyone. After using various Michelin and Bridgestone tyres on the 150hp Croma and achieving a maximum mileage of 25000km per set, I looked for a cheaper choice. The Accelera's cost me a lot of money, although I must admit that they were very good tyres when new. With the Accelera I spent half as much and then covered 60000 km!!! When I changed them I put the same type back on and I wouldn't change brands again. For grip, braking and the rest everything is ok. You guys do your own maths. Bye Read more Collapse

I was somewhat concerned by other reports after ordering these tyres. However I am pleased to say I cannot fault them to date. These replaced the Hankook tyres fitted as standard. The Hankook tyres gave very poor mileage were noisy. The Accelera tyres are noticeably quieter and grip equals the Hankooks. The tyres are fitted to a Kia Sportage, obviously not a 300hp beast. I have had no problems to date and would recommend them without hesitation from a personal point of view. Read more Collapse

I bought Accelera 2 years ago by an accident. I couldn't afford 4 tyres 225/40/18 - 255/35/18 of premium brand. The price for the set of 4 tyres was rly low so I took a shot. I drove almost 20000 miles and I am very satisfied. They go great on dry road and only on wet road with heavy rain they cause problem. I don't know their reaction to snow, cuz I'm riding Dunlop in winter. Riding Accelera in winter is not recommended - only for ppl with moderate driving style. Read more Collapse

I had these on an RX8, they were ok when going in a straight line in the dry but there was some tram lining when cruising at motorway speeds. When pushed round a corner they lost grip too easily (without acceleration) in the dry. In the wet straight lines were ok but cornering at any speed above 15 mph was dangerous, roundabouts even more so. These were used on the rear of the car, the drive wheels, and I would not recommend them for any RWD car. Read more Collapse

Purchaces cause i was skint, no issues in the dry, wet grip wjen accelerating is supprisingly good, braking isnt so hot and there a little unpredictable if the road is a little greasy. But overall am happy to "press on" in all conditions on these tyres. However i drove a mercedes with the same tyres in 18" and the thing was a ditchfinder, absolutely no traction. Drive a Peugeot 407 2.7 Hdi GT. I only managed to get 27000 miles out of 3 sets of Perelli P Zero on the front and 2 sets on the rear. I changes to a fullset of Accelera and have now done 10000 miles with current tread depths 4.5 front and 5.5 rear. Tyres wear even with no scuffing as on Perelli and are great for high speed motoring. Did pretty good in the snow and ice last year too. Impressive performance for an economy tyre. I like to think that I understand cars, their dynamics and handling characteristics. If you're after a tyre that can hang on during qualifying laps; these are not to be recommended, however, for everyday use, especially when they cater for what seems to be a 'non-standard' tyre size, get your car properly tracked, drive within the limits of the tyres and they will serve you well. Have been using them for years. Read more Collapse

very good value for money. I started using continentals. But due to their cost swooped to accelara. Same tread pattern. Both wear similar as the Audi is heavy. Dry grip is good. Wet grip is so so. But that was the same with the continental. The tyres are too wide to get decent grip in the wet. Don't get me wrong. For normal driving there amazing. Having got a puncture on one of the OE tyres, I decided to take a punt on a full set of these tyres. For the cost of one Conti Sport 4 I got a full set of these. At first I was slightly worried as the tyres no were near as grippy in wet of dry conditions. But after around 1k miles they seemed to come on. For the money I can't complain though and would recommend these to anyone, just have a little patience. Read more Collapse

Accelera PHI are baaad. The price in season is inadequate to the quality. It is better to add 25€ and buy something of better quality. In my case Accelera wobbles at the speed of 60mph, not only the steering wheel but the whole car vibrates. I checked it at different fitting stations and it occurs that Accelera is not round at all! I demanded a return and expect their answer. Not recommend at all.... Read more Collapse

At the beginning this Asian brand scared me. So I bought 2 of them for my 730 i e38 and fitted them in the back. So far I have done 2000 kms and for the moment I have no worries. I can now compare them to the top of the range tyres of the German brand. I'm waiting impatiently to see how they wear out because at the moment I have to change the 2 front tyres.Thank you Oponeo for a great product. Read more Collapse

Replaced all 4 tyres on my 530. 245/35/19 on front. 275/35/19 on rear. Slightly more tyre wall than the 39's BMW recommend but they fit no bother and offer a little more comfort. Tyres have performed perfectly in all weather conditions including on the UK's terrible new cheap style motorway resurfacing, that holds a scandalous amount of surface water. Would definitely recommend. Read more Collapse

A budget brand tyre that has surprised me very positively. If you don't have 400 horsepower under your hood or if you are not a fan of very fast turns in the rain, don't even think twice. Order your tyres and enjoy the ride. The tyres are balanced without any problem and aquaplaning only happens when there is standing water on the road. Read more Collapse
