Type: winter tyre.

Class: premium - the best performance and top quality.

Intended use: passenger cars of urban, compact and medium class.

Tread: directional - V-shaped for very good water evacuation.

Sizes: from 13 to 15 inches.

Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a winter tyre that ensures driving safety and excellent performance in difficult weather conditions. This model is good for city cars of compact and medium class. The directional tread design performs very well in mud, water and ice.

The tread pattern resembles honeycomb, which increases its rigidity. It helps to achieve excellent stability on dry roads, which translates into greater safety and travelling comfort. The tread grooves are arranged in the shape of a wedge, helping to quickly and more efficiently evacuate water. The shape of Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 helps to protect the car against aquaplaning and ensures optimum traction regardless of weather conditions. The compact tread blocks work well on icy roads to ensure optimum contact with the road and better manoeuvrability. This helps to reduce braking distance and maintain better traction during sudden and unexpected manoeuvres. On snow-covered roads, proper driving parameters are ensured by many tread edges that "bite" into the snow and facilitate driving through turns on this difficult surface. The blend used in Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 has great flexibility in extreme temperatures. It increases the ground-contact area of the tyre, improving its traction and driving comfort. The model is a very good option for drivers who appreciate maximum performance regardless of the season.

Manufacturer Info: Continental is one of the largest tyre companies in the world. The brand supplies premium tyres with excellent performance, high quality and unmatched comfort. The history of the brand, which now operates 22 production plants worldwide, began in 1871. Continental is based in Hanover.

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought the Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 tyres here at Oponeo last year. I was looking for something not that cheap and I based my search on the opinions available here as well. I was looking for a good brand so I chose Continentals. I am very pleased with the purchase. The whole process of placing an order on-line is astonishingly good. Something about the tyres, though. At the beginning I haven’t had too many opportunities to test their performance (is was rather dry). And so I waited for the first snow and had to wait until new year’s eve. I knew they were good both on wet and dry tarmac, but it wasn’t until I had a chance to drive on snow and icy roads when I saw that paying a few extra pounds was a right choice. Obviously, in such conditions you don’t drive like if it was dry but still I didn’t expect such grip. The Continental ContiWinterContact TS850 offers safety and good control over the car. I think I can easily recommend them to anyone. They may be a bit louder than summer tyres but I would say that it depends on the actual size of the tyre. I can’t really assess the abrasion or the rolling resistance, yet. As for me, I have no complains. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

The Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a good tyre. Bough it during the season so I paid a little extra but it was definitely a righ call. I hesitated a bit, didn't know what to go for: this or the UG7+. Someone wrote before that he can't understand why people talk so much about this model, when it's just average. I find it one of it's biggest advantages. It is good in all the possible conditions, to say the least. Doesn't lose traction in wet, where some Winer tyres would. I have done a few thousand miles so far, and even before the snow it still had been great. Then, after heavy snowfall, they offered ample handlig. They could be a bit better when pulling-off or when braking on loose surfaces. Surprisingly good lateral support. After all, a little worse than the TS830 and those are also not perfect. I will probably buy another set of Continental ContiWinterContact TS800. When it comes to oponoeo this service is as always exemplary. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 was a right choice for my car - stiff suspension and the tyres are rather soft. The previous owner had these tyres on for two years (yes, during warm summer months as well) and so I had to replace two of them. They were a bit expensive but luckily I needed only two. Driving on snow is great. Not even once did it lose traction, even when I trashed it around a little and tried to do some drifting. Turly outstanding grip. My previous car was a Renault 19 with some debica tyres and they coped quite well, especially in heavy snow and when driving "dynamicly" ;). I used all-season tyres but the expeience here was rather bad, so I won't be getting them any more. Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a right choice and I belive I will stick to this model. I am not pleased at all and I would recommend to aviod this tyre if possible. I am surprised by how much people charge for it! The Sale prices say it all. I think they might have them stored in warehouses for too long and they just get old there. The Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a right choice for people who like a bit of adrenaline. Driving in slush is a lottery cause you never know when it will make you lose control over the car. In snow there are problems with braking and pulling off, especiall when the snow becomes hard. It might be good in the Netherlands or in west Germany - black and wet roads only. I had a chance to test them recently in Germany. I will write this again, if the road is black then you're OK. If not it's better to take the bus. Read more Collapse

On ice like on ice. There is no good ice tyre. If it's about snow and wet surfaces than compared to Debicas and Kormorans and some Austrian brand (I can't recall the name) Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a completely different story. I didn't have to use snow chains this year, where I used them in the previous years. They sure are quiet and rather comfy. I haven't done enough miles to judge their wear levels, however so far, it's looking well. I definitely think it was money well spent. When it comes to the performance of Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 I did about 100-120 mph in various conditions (dry, wet, part snow). I sure was a little scared but they offer so much confidence, even at such speeds. I am not disappointed. Read more Collapse

I bougth these tyres, Continental ContiWinterContact TS800, here with this shop and I am rally satisfied. Went to the monutains and they did quite well. Thruth is, though, I didn't have any problems, but the winter was not really that harsh. Every time when pulling off (in Slovakia the roads are completly white) the wheels did spin quite a lot. Apart from that, the tyre is really good. Braking is outstanding, I even wondered if I had ABS :D. Handling in the wet is also rather confident. You can drive though the deepest of puddles without even holding the wheel. In short, Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is a very good tyre, but I find Fulda Kristall Montero to be a bit better and a whole lot cheaper! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought a set of Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 at the beginning of October, That was based on the opinions I found in the Internet. They do their job both in dry and on the wet. I had a chance to test them on the wet snow as well and I was terrified! It felt as if I had slick or completely worn tyres. Lots of tyre spinning, even when in the third gear! If you take your foot off the accelerator it is more than certain that you will spin. Braking in not satisfactory either - ABS has lots of work here. I hope they will wear soon and I will by something else then. I may add that on my other car I have a Debica Frigo (directional, budget tyre) and it is definitely better than this one. Opinion from outside the UK

I had an older model with Continental in the past. I admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the way they go through complaint procedures (one was damaged and they replaced two, so that there would be no difference in tread depth. I really liked those tyres and so I bought a newer model and it is superb in deep snow. I was always the first one on the lights :D. Didn't have a chance to test them on the ice but the way they work in corners is great. Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 might be a bit loud when travelling at speed but for me the main thing when looking for a tyre was girp in snow and on the wet. ADAC wasn't wrong in saying that these are particularily worth recommending. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I was delighted with the price at which I was able to buy new Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 in stock. Unfortunately, the very first winter was shocking because I have been so many times stuck in snowdrifts. And from season to season getting worse: moves and leaves badly from the drifts. Undoubtedly the biggest advantage of them is the braking distance: it stops almost like a 'summer on dry asphalt'; but mind that one might not have so good tyres at your back :) I am riding other tires and comparing them to Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is not worth it. I recommend the tyres as far as they are brand new. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

When looking at the treat pattern at first I wanted to stay away from Continental ContiWinterContact TS800. However, after the first few miles I can honestly say only Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 and no other! Compared to Fulda Cristal Montero 2 you don't even feel when the ABS kicks in. It offers ample grip on slippery surfaces and is stable through the corners - goes exactly where you point it. Ice, snow or almost floded with rain makes no difference. Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 copes easily. It is a bit worse when there is slush on the road but still its grip is good enough. Read more Collapse

It is summer already but I have made throughout the whole winter on Continental ContiWinterContact TS800; there was not much snow but I can definitely say that the tyres are great. Opinion from outside the UK

I think that if you can find Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 at a competitive price it could be a right choice. What I like here it the compromise between certain parametres in Winter conditions, which is what I find a priority. They offer good pull in snow and the braking is satisfactory as well. They do wear a bit quicker and have higher rolling resistance than the tyres I used in the past, however this is not a priority. In general, I think they are worth recommending. Although, when I chose my tyres I look at ADAC tests first and then check my wallet. :) Read more Collapse

Well, the Continental ContiWinterContact TS850 is a rather good tyre, although it looks kinda awkward. I have them for two seasons now and I find them brilliant. No problems with overtaking, even when it's snowing. Relatively quiet, both in wet and on dry. Good pull, the engine is just 1.3 diesel but it has 170Nm and the car weighs only 1150kg. If you drove a diesel before you know what I mean. I had Barum Polaris 2 before and these are at least a class better, not to mention debicas...For the whole Winter season ABS didn't have to inrevene. Read more Collapse

I bought Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 by choice, at the end of 2009. Tires have already had five seasons of winter. There were no labels yet, so I was suggested by a good brand, a large number of good reviews and acceptable, even attractive price. Originally I was wondering whether to buy Nokian winter tires, but the price was far too high. I do not regret that I decided on the tyres. The only downside is that they are noisy, though hard to get quiet winter tires. I think I can recommend Continental ContiWinterContact TS800. Read more Collapse

The Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 is ideal for, so-called, city winter. Wet streets or when there's little snow. In such conditions this tyre handles pretty well and cooperates with all the electornic traction systems. This translates to full control over the car. Effective water channeling of water and very low levels of noise. It is noot that well with wet snow and slush or ice. It works best when it's rather cold outside. Very good tyre. Continetnal ContiWinterContact TS800 handles on wet and dry roads. Braking on the snow is relatively good. No problems with climbs. As for ice, if you don't have a studded one then there is no good tye. This one copes though. Steering is not rater good, but not ideal. I am always terrified driving to work in Derbyshire in the winter and usually get a lift to work. After doing my own reviews this winter, I decided I would give the continentals a try. The best decision I ever made. Not once this year did I have to rely on a lift, my tyres gave my the confidence to travel the 20 miles there and back. So thank you. Read more Collapse

Best tyres on which I rode so far. In winter, such a comparison to Frigo as Frigo to the summer tyres. Wet is great, snow without restrictions. After 10 thousand. look like new so it's probably normal attrition. Rolling resistance also good - no difference in fuel economy after changing to winter tyres. I really highly recommend it. Very good tyres, not even the loudest. behave well on slippery surfaces, are predictable and easy to feel. Relatively little drift when driving on snowy road. After one season, I can not determine wear, rolling resistance a little too high, but it is difficult to assess. Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 have the standard appearance. Read more Collapse

Hard to estimate wear of the Continental ContiWinterContact TS800 after 1st season: something wore off but the tyres are not bold :) Superb on wet or dry bands, worse on snow, but in total ok. The tyres are a bit loud in comparison to summer tyres ( Yokohama A-drive ). Generally speaking: feel safe during the ride - recommended. Read more Collapse
