    Verified review

Early days for these tyres, they've only got 2,000+ miles on them. Under spreadsheet analysis I am losing around 1.8mpg from the previous tyres which I am happy with. There is no more noise than the previous tyres which is great. On wet roads when you touch white lines they can be skittish but perhaps that's me. They certainly roll at lower psi but offer good off-road ability. Need to be kept around 40psi which means they sit nice. It's a nice compromise. They look great on the Subaru Forester and all in all I am very pleased indeed. Saw them being used extensively in BC & Alberta in Canada and Utah & Arizona in the US on Foresters and all the owners were very pleased so figured I'd give them a go. I'd buy them again, no worries. Continental CrossContact ATR

Technology description:

Continental CrossContact ATR are tyres designed for SUVs and are rated as premium products, but for who? Continental prepared a review of their tyres including the percentage share of asphalt/off-road surfaces during their use. The presented model has the ratio of 70/30, for ContiCrossContact AT it is 50/50, for ContiCrossContact LX 2 it is 80/20 and for PremiumContact 6 it is 100/0 (which means that the latter is a typical tyre made for asphalt roads).

The model is equipped with a symmetric tread pattern, which performs excellently in variable weather conditions. At the same time, the model is manufactured using a modern rubber compound with an advanced composition (one of the components being silica). Together with the grooves in the tread, it enables safe driving on wet surfaces. The vehicle sticks well to the road, quickly responds to the steering wheel and efficiently brakes even in heavy rain.

Continental CrossContact ATR is not only safe, but also comfortable. The system of blocks and grooves in the tread pattern perfectly dampens any vibrations generated during driving, which translates into the silent operation of the tyre.

Off-road traction is cared for by the special “tooth” installed between the tread grooves and its open shape with numerous channels responsible for water and mud drainage. As a result, the vehicle is stable on loose surfaces. When travelling on rocky roads, the tyre’s structure offers quick cleaning from gravel and resistance to cuts or other mechanical damage. This translates into long a long useful life even with intensive use.

Information on the manufacturer: Continental are one of the largest and most famous tyre manufacturers worldwide. Their experience of over 100 years and the technology available to them allows for the development of tyres that are close to perfection. They regularly win awards in different tests conducted by leading automotive associations and magazines. They are also fitted as standard on some of the most revered vehicle brands.
