Good tyres, but rather closer to the universal type than a winter tyre in my opinion. There are no good tyres for the ice, but they also lose grip on the snow with my light car. Rather for heavier cars alike Audi. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I've been thinking about choosing a winter car tyre for a long time. I have already traveled on various, from the cheapest budget, to premium tyres of different brands. I must admit that I had doubts about whether it is worth buying tyres at this price, but after a whole winter I can say that this choice was very good. The tyres traveled on very different roads and in different parts of the country. They worked great on the highway or express way. Good grip and reaction to steering movements. The braking distance was also not a problem. In the period when the snow fell and during the trips to the mountains undergone baptism of fire, despite fears and strange comments that fitters and friends gave, they were just sensational. In places where others had a problem with the driveway, moving away, I was moving as if there was neither snow nor ice on the road. To sum up: if you have money, take care of your safety and passengers, choose Continental. They will not let you down. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I chose the tyres for our winter conditions (ie a lot of rain, slush, etc.). In many tyre tests (in our country and foreign) they occupy leading positions and this is confirmed. In our conditions, the winter tyre is great, it behaves well on wet, on snow and on slush. Despite 150 hp and front drive, the traction is really good. A bit worse in deep snow, but at this same time good for such a tread. It is fairly quiet. As for the abrasiveness after traveling 4-4,5 thousand miles it's hard to say, it's not excessive. But the other continental tyres I owned were very good. Read more Collapse

The used tyres are the Continental WinterContact TS 860 195/65 R15 T91 with the label: C - rolling resistance, B - braking on wet, volume - 72 dB. The tyres are probably quieter than the EU label says. On a wet surface, there is a slight slip when starting faster. Rolling resistance is class C and there is actually more fuel consumption than when using class B tyres. The high profile (65) and the T speed index (120 mph) are noticeable at highway speeds and lateral winds. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Winter in 2017/18 wasn’t hard, but it was snowing few times. From the winter tyre, above all, the good snow grip is expected. Unfortunately, several times I was braking on the snow at low speed and I did not see any difference between this tyre and the others I had before - eg Fulda. I would expect more after the premium class, and as I wrotethe deference was very small if not no noticeable difference. Read more Collapse

Continental WinterContact TS860 is the successor to TS850 model, one of the best winter tyres on the market. The tyre was tested in more than 47 tests and frequently it was awarded with top grades. This model is recommended by more than 90% of our website users. All the main performance parameters have been improved on the new model. This tyre has a directional tread and is classified as premium.

Continental WinterContact TS860 provides 5% shorter braking distance on wet roads and 4% shorter on ice. In addition, the wet control of the vehicle has been improved, while rolling resistance and wear resistance remain at a level similar to TS850.

Continental WinterContact TS860 is based on modified blend called "Cool Chili", which contains a lot of silica. The result is much more effective braking on wet roads. The blend also contains components that improve traction in winter conditions (on slippery roads and at low temperatures). This all ensures the maximum control over the car during the autumn and winter seasons.

Continental WinterContact TS860 tyres have a cutting-edge grip system for glazed frost. Driving and braking on a slippery surface creates a kind of fluid coat that increases the contact area with the road and reduces the risk of slippage.

The presented tyres are equipped with a directional tread. It has no peripheral grooves, which is typical for most modern winter tyres. Continental WinterContact TS 860 has 3D grooves across the entire tread surface. An additional groove in the tyre wall provides better grip in the snow. This improves the control of the car, facilitates driving through snow and starting in cold conditions.

Continental WinterContact TS 860 is a tyre designed to provide safety on dry, wet, snowy and icy roads. Such conditions are typical from October to March in Central Europe. Therefore, Continental WinterContact TS860 is perfect for the winter season.

Continental is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. Its offer includes the best quality products, which are popular all over the world. For many years Continental tyres have been ranked in top positions in tests organised by automotive organisations and clubs. In addition to its own brand, this German firm owns the majority of shares in such companies as Uniroyal, Barum, Viking, Matador and Semperit. Continental tyres guarantee excellent quality.
