High performance, safety and comfort - this is how to describe in a few words the Winter i*cept evo3 W330 winter tyres, designed by Hankook. The middle class model is dedicated to passenger cars. The manufacturer has made sure that the tyres are even more technologically advanced than their predecessor Winter i*cept evo2.
The best performance on snow will be provided by 3D winter lamellas. Their zigzag shape improves braking efficiency as well as steering stability, which is possible by limiting the deformation of the tread blocks.
The new transverse shoulder grooves bite into the snow-covered surface, improving handling in winter conditions. Zigzag grooves in the centre of the tyre improve traction and braking performance on snow. This is possible thanks to the optimised angle and the alternating direction of the grooves.
The Winter i*cept evo3 W330's water lamellas and wide shoulder grooves increase the car's grip on wet roads, ensuring braking performance. The 2 shoulder grooves, extended by 20% compared to the Winter i*cept evo 2 shoulder grooves, improve the tyre's wet performance by efficiently removing water from the tyre. A directional tread that reduces the risk of aquaplaning also contributes to this.
Shoulder pads extended by 5% provide stability of handling on dry roads. The manufacturer has decided to reduce the thickness of each block's notches, thus increasing their rigidity, which has significantly improved their driving properties.
The second-generation Aqua Pine rubber compound, thanks to the use of refined resin, provides better performance on both wet and snowy roads.
Hankook is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. It is the largest and at the same time the oldest tyre company existing in South Korea. For almost half a century, its management has been guided by the motto of its creators: "The road must be carefully planned in order to reach full satisfaction”.
