    Opinion from outside the UK

Despite the fact that I have not done a lot of miles on the Michelin Alpin A4 tyres, I am not afraid of winter conditions at all. I can tell something about them. The lowest temperature I had an opportunity to drive on them in was -17℃ and the highest one was 17 ℃. The tyres are doing very well in low temperatures. In dry conditions they provide an excellent adhesion. In the higher temperature it is even better. My car goes uphill easily even if there is a really snowy hill (it goes easy even without ESP). I was positively surprised by braking in snow as ABS did not have to activate. The only type of surface I experienced a decrease in adhesion on is ice but it is rather a normal thing. There are no tyres that have a perfect grip on ice. The tread pattern is quite hard. It was designed for long-term use. The rolling resistance is reduced. The Michelin Alpin A4 tyres are extremely comfortable although their rubber compound is not so soft. My car drives smoothly even on uneven surfaces. The noise level is acceptable. In summary, I do recommend these tyres! Read more Collapse

The Michelin Alpin A4 tyres provide great performance, superb grip on wet roads. They are designed especially for winter conditions. They deserve all the positive reviews on the Internet. However, I would like to write a little bit about their durability. They are very durable. They were designed for intensive use. Their rubber compound is unique and innovative. Thanks to special components they are resistant to different kinds of mechanical damage. The Michelin Alpin A4 tyres are really long lasting. My previous Nokians ZG2 in the size 225/45R15 served me only for two seasons. I did no more than 40 thousand miles. Although the Michelin Alpin A4 costs quite a lot, it is a very good tyre due to its high durability. It is worth buying!!! I think that I will also purchase summer tyres from Michelin. Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Alipn A4 are a total disaster. I bought them last year to my Volvo S40 2.0D. Right after the purchase I noticed that they rumble in the speeds of 55-65MPH. I told Oponeo about that but I noticed that I will start a complaint procedure when I'll be putting my summer tyres on. I was using Nokians and they weren't as noisy as the Michelin Alpin A4. The seller was very suprised. He told me that they sold plenty of Michelin Alpin A4 and nobody was ocmplaining about them. When I finnaly made a complaint to Michelin they told me that they don't know why the tyres howl so much and they gave me a new set but it was the same. Even my girlfirend is making jokes about the sound of my tyres. Grip properties = poor. On wet road surface you can easily lose the grip. I dont recommend! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Alpin A4 is very soft and when driving more than 50MPH a little noise is noticeable. My size is 165/70R14 and it is common that the same tyre but in different size behaves slightly different. Dont believe what people write here you have to test it on your own before you can state any opinion. In addition I ahve to say that I work in a fitting garage for 4 years right now and it is common thatn people expect the unexpected from the tyres. The best thing would be when the tyre could fit and balance itself :) imo I would not buy anything lower than mid-class tyre because the tyre is a basis of car usage. In my previous car I used Dunlop WinterSport M3 and I have to say that it was more stiff and had a lot more problems with driving on snow than Michelin Alpin A4. Read more Collapse
