Yokohama BluEarth VAN RY55 is intended for commercial vehicles. All of its features have been optimised to ensure that the car uses less fuel, is safe, and the tyres withstand the hardships of everyday use.
The manufacturer assures that the VAN RY55 model has a 19 per cent lower rolling resistance compared to its predecessor RY818. Wet braking has been reduced by 9 percent, which means that the new model can save lives. Wear resistance has been extended by up to 50 percent.
These features are due to the excellent BluEarth compound and the new tread. The rubber composition uses orange oil, which makes it soft. This in turn translates into better grip on dry and wet surfaces. The result is a tyre that is both economical and safe. Yokohama specialists have found the right balance between these two theoretically contradictory parameters.
Yokohama was founded in 1917. Four years later it launched an innovative cord tire, several times more durable than its predecessor. In recent years, the brand has been involved in motorsports and is a supplier of tyres for cars participating in several series of races. Yokohama is also a sponsor of two NBA professional basketball clubs: Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs.
