215/45 R16 tyres are produced with dynamic passenger cars in mind. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall where it is provided in a form of a string of signs. The first number expresses in millimetres the tread width of the 215/45 R16 tyre (in this case it is 215 millimetres). The second number equals the percentage ratio between the tyre's height and its tread width. Here it is 45% out of 215 mm. The "R" in the tyre's size denotes its radial construction.
