According to Nankang's mission statement, what is most important for the company is meeting customer expectations. The brand's motto is "honesty, pragmatism and innovation". During production, emphasis is placed on soundness and durability, while maintaining performance on the road.

Nankang is a Taiwanese company with over 50 years of experience, and learnt about tyre manufacturing from the best — the Japanese. The R&D department keeps up with the times and offers modern tyres at very attractive prices (the brand is considered to be in the economy market segment).

Many European drivers have already opted for the Nankang brand of tyres. This is a very good option for those who are looking for new tyres, but who do not want the purchase to break the household budget. Nankang offers products including tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, light delivery vans, motorcycles and aircraft.

Interesting facts:

Sonar tyres and Star Performer tyres are among the tyres offered by the Nankang brand.

Although 1959 is considered to be the date when the brand launched, the company's origins date back to 1940, when the first company was set up by the future founders of Nankang.

In addition to the civilian market, Nankang is also active on the military market — it manufactures tyres for military aircraft and combat vehicles.

Nankang tyres are produced at two factories: The first, which dates back to the company's inception, is located in Taiwan, while the second is located in mainland China, in Zhangjiagang.

In 1963, Nankang appeared on the Taiwan Stock Exchange; in 1974, it developed radial tyres for passenger cars, and ones for lorries and buses in 1980; in 1999, it started marketing low-profile Nankang tyres, high-performance tyres in 2001, tyres for SUVs in 2003 and 2008 saw the introduction of a fuel-economy model (Eco-1).

Our customers' opinions on Nankang tyres:

  • Den 4.4

    Nankang Econex NA-1

This car tyre has been used on a one off specially built wheel on the rear of a motorcycle combination, because the round profile of a motorcycle tyre wears quickly on a wheel that is always vertical, I only get approximately 2500 miles from a motorcycle tyre! The flat profile of the car tyre also tripples the contact area vastly improving the braking! I have now done 2000 miles with little wear . So it looks like a good improvement. See more >

    Nankang NS-2R

Tyres are a very soft compound, lots of grip in the dry, and surprisingly grippy in wet weather! Only negatives about these are that they fail to work under negative temperatures and do not have good traction below 5 degrees. The sidewall is very stiff which makes for great steering response and input. Overall great tyres, although they do wear out quite quickly if driven hard. See more >

    Nankang AS-2+

Good tyre so far, on a turbo mk1 mx5 running -10 camber, so far Tyre has severely topped the previous Falken tyre that was on previously, seems to handle the camber a bit better and was an easy tyre to fit, sidewalls not overly stiff at all but for a lower profile that is not essentially a bad point, would definatley buy again See more >

    Nankang NS 20

I decided on the Nankang after reading good reviews and seeing the brand at motorsport events. Normally I would get mid range Avon or Barum etc. The Nankang were slightly cheaper than them - and half the price of top brands. I’m very pleased with the tyres, they are quiet, feel smooth, feel confident in wet and dry and the tread pattern looks great. My only concern is the rim protection bar could be bigger - but that’s all. See more >
