Dunlop Grandtrek Touring A/S

I purchased them in spring of 2008, summer on recommendation of a garage and I will never buy them again. Tyres are mediocre and noisy, they have delayed reaction on cornering at speed above 120 km/h - so they're relatively dangerous. On top of that, after three months of use the sides became brown and look horrible, and this is supposed to be a top quality product?! It's hard for me to imagine a Cayenne or MLK on disgustingly discoloured tyres... Eh, according to the claim department of the manufacturer, tyres cannot be returned on warranty due to colour change... I used Dunlop tyres on different cars, Skoda Octavia Combi (Dunlop Winter Sport 3D) where they performed amazingly in winter, right now I have these tyres on a SUV and I'm very satisfied. I changed them from Goodyear Wrangler (which came on the vehicle, but were very noisy). But back on the topic, Dunlops are great on dry surfaces, very good on wet (cornering grip on bends), winter and ice are no challenge for them. I'm not sure how large a part the car plays in this (Hyundai Tucson 4x4) but I'm not afraid to drive on deep snow or large mud puddles. Originally I wanted to purchase different tyres - but they were not available. I bought Dunlops - I admit to being a bit suspicious after looking at the tread, which seemed to me more like a summer highway tyre rather than a good universal one - and I do not regret the choice. Tyres performed excellently this winter - I had no issue in driving out of snow piles, several times I drove on more serious offroad. In general, obstacles proved to not be an issue - even if snow, sand or mud reached the axles and above - which isn't often the case for every SUV and every M+S tyre. Read more Collapse

Recommended, they did their job in winter and summer. Going to the city and light offroad, they were perfect, espceially in Poland where there are quick weather changes. I was surprised by their performance in snow, I had no issue driving through snowy hills, never ended up immobilised. Driving was easy. For me this is a better choice for mid-range SUV than two sets of the cheapest or used tyres. In my assessment of these tyres, I focused not on the noise or their looks, but I don't have any issues in that regard. The tyre looks great and I couldn't hear anything while driving. Driving comfort is high, on quick cornerning or during braking I felt stable and sure while driving (of course that is also partly thanks to the car) - both on dry and wet surfaces. I haven't been driving on them for long yet but in comparison to the previous (a winter/summer set) these perform more than sufficiently. This is not affected by relatively large engine power (230 hp). Car is not hitching (without electronics), acts stable. Winter wasn't really felt but I commute via a road that's not desnowed and traction was maintained while starting, neither were there signs of weird behaviour on snow/ice. Read more Collapse

I would like to comment about the use in the winter because in summer they were very good. In the winter, no matter if there's snow or mud, car drives as if it were on dry. Tyres don't struggle even at higher speeds. After 2 seasons they lost about 3 mm of tread, which in comparison with other tyres is an ideal all year round wear. Read more Collapse

Balanced tyres, comfortable, good on dry like all tyres, good to very good on wet, it's a compromise on snow like all all-season tires but still driveable. Even with only 3mm of tread, there are transverse slats to provide propulsion, for example to pull a horse trailer on wet grass. Read more Collapse

Great tyres for my x5, here's why not only for that car but for all SUVs! On the basis of the winter period, I can say that the tyre has proven to work well on snow and ice, both on the road and in offroad. Compared with other winter tyres we use, it is quiet and has good grip to the road, which results in good driving comfort. Read more Collapse
