A premium winter tyre. It was produced for drivers who look for the best performance in tough winter conditions. Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is the successor of Goodyear Ultra Grip 7 +, the award tests winner by an independent German organization ADAC, and the magazine "Autobild", "Auto Motor und Sport" and British "Auto Express". Engineers were able to enhance performance of the tyre, compared to the previous model Ultra Grip 7 +: - reduced stopping distances on wet roads by 4% (on the asphalt with a low coefficient of friction), - increased resistance to aquaplaning on the winding, wet roads, by 16%, - shortened braking distance on snow by 3% and increased traction on snowy roads by 5%.

Features of Goodyear Ultra Grip 8: efficient braking. An aggressive, directional tread pattern with BIS (Block Interlocked System) 3D system on the entire surface ensures short braking distances. Very good adhesion on various types of surfaces and low wear Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 tyre is made of the rubber mixture with silica and special polymers, which ensures good traction on variable surface types (snow, ice, mud, dry road) and even, slow wear of the tread. Excellent performance at low temperatures. In the production of rubber for Goodyear Ultra Grip 8, the manufacturer used elastic rubber, which retains its properties under extreme conditions.

Fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. Advanced construction of Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 offers low rolling resistance. Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is one of the world's largest tyre manufacturers. It was founded in 1898, and in 1926 it became the largest producer of rubber. Goodyear's offer also includes other chemical and rubber products. The company conducts commercial activities worldwide.

Working for one of the UKs emergency services I have to get to work in all weathers, when these tyres cost no more than the same brand summer tyre I thought I would give them ago. My car does not have traction control ETC, it only has ABS so ideal for testing tyres with. Not done many miles in the snow except for boxing day 2014 up the A50 Markfield hill. I drove up the hill in lane 2 whilst everyone else slipped and slithered in lane 1, the car was stable and secure. In the wet the perform very well showing no sign of aquaplaning at all even when travelling at speed. In the frosty mornings there is no slipping at junctions or under braking. These tyres have a softer compound and so in the heat of summer they do feel a bit soft around the corners and braking is not so good as a summer tyre. I expected them to wear quicker than a summer tyre but I still have 6mm tread left after driving 12000 miles. perhaps nosier than the summer tyres but the radio still works. I have not assessed appearance as they are round and black, like all the other brands. If I have to make a choice I would rather drive these tyres in the summer than summer tyres in the winter. Bought a set for the wife and I wont now drive summer tyres in the winter again. Excellent tyres. Read more Collapse

Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 are very good tyres. I made just about 250 miles on them mainly in the city and they behave perfectly. I did not notice any faults for now. They did not lose the grip even once and I was in very different places and there was a huge frost. The ABS did not turn even once, but there was no need because I am a calm driver and I feel very comfortable and safe wile driving on Goodyear Ultra Grip 8. I cannot say anything about the attriction because I made quite a shor mileage. Tyres are silent, the sound is unnoticeable. To sum up I, Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 did not disappoint me on big snow, slippy surface. I recommend them. It is better to pay more and have good quality tyres. Read more Collapse

I bought set of four Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 to my Avensis Verso 2003 in the size of 205/65R15. I was forced to buy them after I saw very positive reviews and test. After one season I have to say that I am not fully satisfied. Advantages of Ultra Grip 8 : noise level is very low (but on dry road the sound is noticeable). In the period of October-March I drove about 3000 miles. The attriction is very low. Disadvantages: I felt like swimming when cornering. On wet road surface I did not feel myself safe. In December the tarmac was iced but the road was black and I almost had a crash. To conclude I am satisfied with Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 but I dont know if I want to buy them for next season. I used many types of winter tyres in my cars . I was very pleased with Dunlops (winter, summer) and with Falkens (winter). This season I decided to buy Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 and test them how much worth they are.I have to addmit that they did not disappoint me at all. I drove on them about 10000 miles mainly on the route UK- Italy. Even snowy Alps did not suprised Ultra Grips 8. These tyres are very durable and they behave very stadly. I did not any wobbling of my steering wheel in the speeds of 20MPH- 120MPH. No serious rolling noise noticed. For now I think that only 1mm of the tread was used. I am very happy that I bought Goodyear Ultra Grip 8. Worth buying! Read more Collapse

Tyres realy good. very silent. Awesome grip. I put Goodyear Ultra grip 8 to my Toyota Avensis Sedan 1.8 SOL 2009. I could not test them on snow and ice because it is november and no snow yet. I am very shocked when I am reading reviews of people who write that these tyres rumble, swim etc. It is a total lie. If you put such tyres to Daewoo Lanos or old Dacia so I would rather suggest you to change your car. What is more, tyres should be fitted in professional fitting stations not in underground garages where nobody knows how to balance and fit tyres. Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 are very durable and good looking tyres with awesome driving properties. Recommend! Read more Collapse

I bought Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 in November 2011r. till the begining of March I made about 17.000 miles. I used Conti TS830 last season and I have to say that they are not so good. I have Kia Ceed Diesel 115BHp. Advantages: durable, low attriction, low noise level, very good driving comfort, good tracktion and braking. Disadvantages: no water-drain groove so there is problem with driving on snow-mud with speeds over 60MPH. Medium aquaplaning resist. Low side grip while cornering and poor braking on wet road surface. Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is a efficient tyre but for this price I would like to have something better. Read more Collapse

Hello. To be fair I have only had these tyres for a moth and haven't done more than 2k miles. However, I had a chance to test the Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 on the motorway, in the mountains and on the wet. This really is an excellent tyre when it comes to the level of noise (considering this is a Winter tyre) - it is definitely less noisy than some of the Summer tyres. Apart from that, very good handling both on wet and dry surfaces. I haven't had a chance to check their behaviour in snow, but somehow I expect nothing but the best performance. What is more, the rolling resitance is quite low as well. Read more Collapse

Last year I had some 5year old winter tyres fro Pirelli. My car is a Bmw 5 series and like seven times I got stuck in snow or on ice. Braking- tragedy. This year I bought brand new Goodyear Ultra Grip 8. All the problems that I had before disappeared completely. Car pulls great even in the deepest of snow and the braking is superb in every condition. Cornering is great as well! They are rather quiet and that stays up to 80mph. I would recommend the Ultra Grip 8 to anyone whe seeks for versatile winter tyres, I think you might want to pay a few extra quid to get these Goodyears. Read more Collapse

My previous tyre - the Ultra Grip 7 - brilliant! When it comes to Ultra Grip 8 - for now - great disappointment! It is mainly due to constant loss of grip when trying to set off in snow or on ice and, what is really outrageous, in the wet (even after a drizzle). Another issue is braking in the snow. ABS kicks in with the slightlest touch of the brake pedal. I really don't trust them any more. Once more, the goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is a big, big disappointment and I honestly wouldn't recommed it to anyone. In this price range I think I would go for Continentals. Read more Collapse

For the last three years i've had Ultra Grip 7 with Goodyear and i must say I was very pleased. So when I changed my car I bought the new Ultra Grip 8 and that was a right call. Despite rather big roll-resistance they work briliantly in snow and slush. As well as on dry, really. I use this car to get to work every day. about 30 miles, few of which are on the motorway. Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is 100% in evey way, so they are really worth the money you have to pay for them. I think there is no point in saving on something that potentially might save your life. I bought a set of Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 three weeks ago. After having them balanced, the guy who fitted them said they doesn't look even to him. And yes, I put the wheels on and it seemed as they were ractangular. The were a little bit better the next day and the place I bought them from said that it will adjust, because of the soft compound. Still by this day when driving around 25mph i can feel a little bouncing. I haven't had a change to use them in snow, but their ok in the mud. I think I might file a complaint, maybe it wasn';t strored properly. Read more Collapse

Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is really worth recommending. It's very quiet, even better than my summer tyres with Yokohama. No problems with the loss of tracktion in low temperatures or any problems with electonic systems (ESP, ABS) for that matter. No wobbling or wibes transfered through the steering column. I have had the Ultra Grip 8 for six months now on my Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8. In my opinion, all the negative opinions about this Goodyears are ungrounded. If it pulls or wobbles it is not the tyre but your car and the lack of proper service. Read more Collapse

I hear a lot of good things about them and I have to addmint that everything that I heard about this tyres is true. Last night snow felt down and I had opportunity to check them on ice and snow. I was to buy Dunlop Winter Response - I have summer season Dunlops and they are unbeatable. And as for Goodyear... in temperatures around 2 degrees C and in wet the ABS goes crazy and I can't pull away without skidding, which wouldn't happen even with summer tyres! In 2 degrees the summer tyre should be visibly worse than a winter one! I totally regret buying the Ultra Grip 8, especially when I could have bought Dunlops. I drove in various types of cars.. with ESP and without, with ABS and without. Tyres that I have used were always new and good brand. My wife has a Scoda fabia 1.2 with ABS and Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 fitted. Tyres on dry road are ok but on every winter surface with just a bit of braking they slip and the ABS turns on immediately. I was very disappointed with Goodyear Ultra Grip 8. Driving with speeds of 20-30MPH's is quite risky already. To sum up, I am not fully satisfied with Ultra Grip 8. Read more Collapse

I have them for a week now, but we had so much different weather conditions lately that I really had a chance to test them both in the wet and on dry, on fresh snow, slush and ice. I would need studs for the ice but in all the other conditions - worth recommending. Still, whatever tyre you have you still have to use common sense when driving in Winter. Read more Collapse

The Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is a decent tyre, although the fringe looks a bit small and hence I had some doubts about it. I fitted the whole set, together with new rims, on a Mazda 323F. They are quiet and the car handles really well on dry, slush and snow. I haven't tried them on ice, but I think this should be an issue here. The older brother, the Ultra Grip 7, also scores quite well. The Ultra Grip is definitely good value for money. Read more Collapse

The tyre bought in February went hollow in October. The tyre man had to force it back in to position using inner tube (which ment another visit to the fitting station and another 50 punds spent). How about the drive? I haven't had a chance to try them in deep snow, yet. On ice this Goodyear behaves like Debica Frigo 2. Very good tyre for our climatic conditions. I bouth a set of these Ultra Grip 8 and fitted them on my Honda Jazz, relatively light car. They are great in corners and give you a sense of full control over the car. There is quite substantial margin for grip in winter conditions. Obiously, that is when we keep the common sense when driving and most importantly, adapting our driving to present weather conditions. Read more Collapse

I have just fitted the Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 and it'a a total nightmare! The car pulls to the sides when above 50mph and up to 25 you can easily hear stange knocking sounds. I had them inspected at a local garage and they say it's definitely the tyre at fault. The car and rims are fine. I will file a complaint. Avoid this model if you can. I will never buy tyres from Goodyear again! Read more Collapse

In general, the Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is quite good. Especially in snow and slush. Pulling off is safe and without any loss of grip. It keeps the direction without any wobbling or pulling to the sides. The only drawback of this Goodyear is the level of noise - if you may cosider it as one. It is just a matter of the profile of the tyre, you can't have everything. Read more Collapse

I would recommend this tyre without a shadow of doubt. The Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 works really well on both dry and wet. Much to my surprise it even handles reasonably well in slush, or when driving through a deep puddle. Once again, this is definitely to be recommended, it is really worth the price. For me, they are quiet too, even though they are Winter tyres. Read more Collapse

I've done about 5,000 miles in different weather conditions (including snow, ice and slush) and I honestly can't say anything bad about it. Purchased tires Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 (made in Germany) is a very good tire on the road and the city (such searched and chose this model after konsuktacji advisor Oponeo - and this very important note, I pressed the man on the strength of what he wanted to sell, but listened to what criteria I presented him with respect to the tire I needed. Actually adviser suggested purchase this tire model from German, not Polish - the difference in the composition of the mixture from which the tire was produced). A little less succeed in kopnym snow (if anyone wants a tire on kopny snow let it buy Dębica Frigo - good traction on snow in other poor conditions). Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 is a tire that works very well on dry and wet roads (including slush). Very good drainage, good handling in the turns (pretty much put aside but sticks perfectly to the surface). Occasionally loss of adhesion occurred when starting OR ANY braking (even violent). Traction on ice do not judge - only here spines give advice: D Noise - as winter tires, a little louder than the summer. Wear the approximately 20 000 km. negligible. In conclusion, if someone is looking for secure, safe tires on the road and to the city in a wide speed range - definitely recommendable. Due to the professional service from the consultant summer tires probably also buy the in Oponeo. Read more Collapse

On tires Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 185/65/R 14 T drove three full winter seasons. In this czsasie beat 90,000 km - I can safely assume that 45,000 did ww.tyres winter. After driving that distance tires are still suitable for use and it seems that the next winter will not be the last - also a big plus for durability. Both dry and wet conditions gums are very certain. I have not experienced the phenomenon of water cushions, braking more than good. For wirażach also exercised a decent, maybe not sensational in the context of sport, but in accordance with its intended purpose - ensure safety in everyday use. Their purpose is winter and there a huge plus - snow and slush are not the conditions that allow the user to surprise those tires. I drove on them in the winter m.in route Gdańsk - Krakow. From Lodz conditions were terrible, the roads white. Tires give confidence which so far have not known. At the ice rink never feel certainty so do not utter - but the icy roads of any bumps if I failed, so I guess some tires are quiet - I know a lot louder rubber tires. Read more Collapse

This is my next (after winter) tire company Goodyear purchased Oponeo course and full service (assembly). Performance of the contract - all with flying colors. Fast delivery, directly to a workshop without interference. No need to expect in readiness for a courier and move these tires of the car in the car (which, especially for women, is very important and convenient). You buy, you choose the workshop, you set the date convenient for you, replacing donuts and enjoy a safe, comfortable and economical ride. The tires are of the highest quality; quiet, safe and economical. They do not require advertising, just check the rankings for the year 2014 (the first three). Price in Oponeo.co.uk always competitive. I have no comments or objections both the selected tire, and the performance of the contract by the shop Oponeo.co.uk. I highly recommend it. The tire has excellent handling characteristics. As for the noise - the label may mislead the purchaser. Depending on the surface (I speak only of asphalt surfaces) my tires normally make noise like a typical winter tires or very strongly - in my case, the sound is similar to the sound of ending up in the wheel bearings. The noise is increasing at a fairly sharp corners as the tires are at the limit of grip. Normally, I would argue that the bearing is either ends, if not for the fact that the summer tires these symptoms they observed. I do not know why I make noise, it can tread the wine ... For the record - before the foundation of the tire rims were checked by oponiarzy wheels with tires were balanced by oponiarzy even fireplaces with valves mentioned. Read more Collapse

After reading the reviews on this tire gave up the purchase, despite the fact that many seasons przejeździłem its previous model and I was happy. After many hours of research I decided to take a chance and today I do not regret that decision. Immediately after assuming first impression was negative. Car terribly "float" on curves and corners. But when the temperature went zero problems in the area subsided. When starting and braking on wet and slush tires sensational. Much better than previous Goodyear-y and Nokia, ABS very rarely załączał. On the snow until the sharp clash spoke ASR and so when heavy braking worked ABS but it's probably normal. Overall, I rate them very positive and I would recommend all users Voyager. Read more Collapse

Tires bought a brand new high evaluations after they have obtained in the tests ADAC and I feel disappointed by their behavior especially in the snow. The car can not cope with the snow-covered driveway of the hill, which is in Bielsko little. In addition, cornering complains back. On tires Fulda and Debica was definitely better. After consultation with the vulcanizer received opinions confirming my observations, that these tires are not suitable for winter Polish conditions so I have to agree. The next time a pile of tires in accordance with the recommendation of the vulcanizer, not the opinions of ADAC, because apparently they do not reflect the reality of our road conditions. I have the opportunity to ride on these tires in two sizes. The official car I have 205/55/16 and 165/65/15 wife's car. The tire size 205 behaves correctly on dry and wet roads. In the snow too well the trick. Only reservation I have what appears to noise. At speeds above 140 tire likes to seem strange noises, depending on the surface even after the riding. Appearance did not knocks. As for the size of 165 is very similar, only that it is more robust noise better. The tire is narrower and does not appear with him those strange sounds at higher speeds. Tires are great. So far I did not disappoint. With low snow do very well, has not yet been tested in high snow. As for black ice, I'm pleasantly surprised with their keeping. Earlier, another car drove on Barum Bravuris and say that I did not complain to them but they were nervous moments. Maybe I made a few more miles on these tires, but I feel it will be fine. Tires very welcome surprise when driving on dry pavement. You really are quiet 150 km / h on the highway, you can comfortably talk, no additional vibration transmitted to the car body and the wheel. A little less this year (briefly) was snow and I had the opportunity to test their extreme, but still I am able to trust them. The construction and tread design guarantees a good job for which they were created. Once again I recommend. Read more Collapse

Very quiet (noise level much lower than my tires Michelin - ki) and soft tires, while well stick to the road and not "float". Runner - Regular herringbone-great drains water and slush. The observed increased fuel consumption by about max 0.3 - 0.4 liter seems to be low at such good traction properties. Appearance tires very good - especially the sound of the tread. Rant security guard alloy wheels is also very useful. Read more Collapse

I ride usually fairly quiet, noting the combustion and adhering to the principles of eco drivingu parts. Tires give some conduct, both on wet and snow-covered roads, as well as on dry asphalt. Moving the snow is also not a problem. Some grip when cornering - of course within reason for a small passenger car. It is difficult to assess the strength - one season left on them, not even a trace of wear. Read more Collapse

Best of tires which I used, and I've used many manufacturers of tires in 15 years - UG7 - was the first of "the family" - and then I bought all subsequent generations - and never on them was not disappointed - I can identify a brand and tire manufacturers, which did not comply with the description or warranty - I (ii over 50 of my friends) have other winter tires do not buy! Tires had founded the winter season 2013/2014. Were doing great. Moving in the wet or snow is not a problem. It was worse when braking during downhill gradients in the packed snow and the road of windblown snow. There were only 2 cases for the whole season. Moreover, in urban traffic and out of town, or the sun or the rain the car ran comfortably. Their volume is not bothered. Read more Collapse
