Optimal performance, excellent grip and a stable driving experience in any situation are the main attributes of the Michelin PRIMACY 3. The tyre is noted for its innovative construction, specially designed to handle difficult weather and road conditions. Its asymmetric tread pattern means that it disperses water very quickly, preventing the car from skidding. Wide grooves help disperse water to the sides, which means that the liquid layers are removed from under the tyre, ensuring that it maintains its grip.

The model has been designed from an innovative compound noted for its lightness and durability. The light compound reduces rolling resistance, resulting in lower fuel consumption - in the space of a year this can mean big savings for the driver. Reduced fuel consumption also results in lower CO2 emissions, which helps limit the tyre's negative impact on the environment.

michelin-primacy-bok

The model is particularly well suited to drivers looking for optimal performance in any weather and in any conditions. The Michelin PRIMACY 3 ensures a quiet and comfortable driving experience. Thanks to the model's construction, tyre noise is instantly muffled. Optimal performance, shorter braking distances and excellent steerability are all features that mean that the Michelin PRIMACY 3 has gained the recognition of even the most demanding drivers.

Michelin

Michelin is a French company and one of the largest tyre groups in the world. The company was founded in 1889 in Clermont-Ferrand, where it has its headquarters to this day. Michelin specialises in the production of premium tyres noted for their optimal performance and excellent manufacturing quality. The French group owns brands such as: Kleber, Riken, BFGoodrich, Kormoran, Taurus, Saimtyre, Warrior, Tigar, Recamic and Euromaster. Thanks to its logo – Bibendum or the Michelin Man – Michelin is the most recognisable tyre brand in the world.

    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Primacy 3 completely didn't fulfill its purpose despite the fact I have struggled with them for four months. I have a Volvo S60 T5 tuned to 290HP. The seller said they would do the job - they didn't. On dry they are even fine, but as soon as it starts to rain, TCS goes crazy; also they feathered after 6000 miles despite the fact my shocks are new and the whole suspension was replaced with new original parts. The tyres got so loud that you can't talk at 55 MPH. Michelin Primacy 3 are just another evidence for the fact that French things are just useless. My Volvo accelerates to almost 170 MPH, but if anyone wants to drive that fast, then not on these tyres despite the fact they are rated up to 186 MPH. I bought Michelin Primacy 3 two times - first and last time. This is just a waste of money. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

First of all, I do pretty much distance all around the country. I got new Michelin Primacy 3 tyres in April - a set of four 215/50 R17 XL 95 W. The car I fitted the tyres to is a Peugeot 5008 2.0 HDI. After 13 thousand miles mark hit in October, all I can do with them is to thow them into the bin as they wore off below the wear indicator. The tyre of such class should withstand at least 30-40 thousand miles in my opinion. I will definitely not buy Michelin Primacy 3 again. In dry conditions they brake superbly, but on wet or in muddy conditions - it's not even worth to talk about it. My driving style is dynamic, but without any aggressive maneuvers or braking if not necessary. Read more Collapse

I didn't rate the looks of the tyres since that is not important to me. They are perfectly suited for both dry and wet surfaces. I asked for these tyres for my company's car but my bosses found slightly less expensive Nokian zLine 234/45 R17 97 Y XL which are also good, somewhat quiet but without anything exceptional about them; however, in rain they make a specific sound that may annoy some. With Michelin there were no bizarre situations like this (but take note of the height of the tyre - it is not the same). Anyway, I wrote about this because I regret that because of a paltry difference in price I was forced to experiment. Read more Collapse

The Michelin Primacy 3 tyres were problematic from the very moment I fitted them. Three out of 4 were vibrating during the check. When checking the tread during spinning, you could feel your hand jump. During driving above certain speeds I could feel vibrations on my steering wheel, and I could hear loud humming from the tyres. Unfortunately, Michelin Primacy 3 are an evidence that Michelin has dropped their quality level... The tyres were manufactured in Germany in 2013. Read more Collapse

When compared to Bridgestone the car came out on, I'm surprised by better grip of these - particularly on wet asphalt. They are quieter and softer, easily cross uneven terrain. When driving fast, they are predictable, they do not "remind" the user of their existence and do not "protest" when treated more harshly. Having driven 15000 km on them so far, they do not show much wear, there's no signs of cupping wear, microscopic cracks etc. A tyre worth recommending. Read more Collapse

I have the Michelin Primacy 3 tyres for a few seasons now. I did over 85000 miles, and the tread is still all right... However, I have to replace them because the rubber starts to decay, otherwise they would serve for one more season. I have nothing to complain about both on dry and on wet, I also forgot what ABS is... I wonder is I have it in the car now. Michelin Primacy 3 is a very durable tyre, worth the price paid for. This is a great tyre from a performance view. Good on wet and dry conditions. Very low noise levels and a noticeably smoother ride in comparison to RFT tyres. However I was disappointed on the milage return and after 12000 miles my rear tyres are almost at the legal limit. I was expecting a better milage return having read previous reviews on this site. The tyre looks truly nice and after all that is an important element of this puzzle - a nice, polished shoe does make the heads turn. Recommended. Read more Collapse

I drove on these about 3000 km. To this date, wear is not noticeable. On the rear seats you can hear the tyre, but this could be the result of insufficient soundproofing of the car. They behave correctly on dry and wet surface when driving calmly. I'm happy with those tyres, I would recommend the though I haven't driven much on them so far. Read more Collapse

Tyres have been used for around 15k km (6 months), ratio of city-outside of city-on highway being 40-35-25. Very good grip to the road, no slipping, the structure of the sides is strong, they are very quiet. Braking is good on both dry and in wet. They do wear fairly quickly but then again I've not driven a car with this intensity before. Read more Collapse

Rugged and sticking well to the road - especially in the wet. Some drawbacks: pebbles easily get stuck, which may cause irritation, and they are slightly noisier; but these are things you can get used to. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I had earlier on the official Mondeo 1.8 predecessor Primacy HP. I gave the car after 3 years with the course of about 80 thousand miles on these Samach summer tires with whom I went to the living room and the only set winter tires. On the next car also asked about Michelin dealer and picked up on Primacy3 Passat. After 4 years, I gave the car already in the first set of tires in decent shape at the meter reading over 90 thousand km. Therefore, I do not understand complaints about the rapid wear. Or unusual or switched geometry or children in the home are starting to borrow a car from my parents;). All parameters at a high level so I think Michelin a good investment. If the suspension feels the same comfort as a driver and it would probably be less tired and is not a problem. I highly recommend! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I do not know how people drive on tires, saying that bad, the clash etc. I had the previous energy saver and I would have had them only trouble - cut tire and had to change, changed on the primacy 3 and do not regret anything, are great. Today in cracow it rained quite heavily and I decided to try them - they keep a great, ABS-u did not use and with no starts poking located only a collection of fast, if someone says with are weak, let him go to the racetrack, these are tires for driving, and not at the races, in my opinion great. I am very happy, the next donuts also will be Michelin, are the best. Read more Collapse

Tires fully met my expectations, great handling on both dry and wet surfaces, very good braking. Gently hear them inside while driving but it is acceptable. I'm doing 30 - 40 thousand km per year, while that on the Michelin Primacy3 made more than 20 thousand, and their condition is very good. Read more Collapse
