Toyo Proxes T1-R

I've been using these tyres for 3 months now. I've heard they're great for dry, especially in the corners, but in fact I'm surprised - they are really great. My size is 205/45/16, fitted to a Corolla G6 and the driver can feel really safe. The tyre has easily controllable skidding, especially if it is well warmed up. Nothing happens by surprise. In corners I have no problems to catch up with 200 HP sports cars with 17-18 inch wheels. Sometimes I even have a good laugh whenI see expressions of guys who only care about the power and handling and agility is something odd to them. It's no revelation on wet, during recent rains I haven't noticed grip loss when braking or cornering, but due to difficult conditions I was driving carefully. Generally speaking, a great tyre for relatively decent price, very predictable and thus secure. You can really get much if you like dynamic driving. Moderate noise level, fuel consumption is fine (changed by 0.2 l/100 km in winter, where I use tyres with 185 width). I highly recommend. Read more Collapse

I purchased the Toyo Proxes T1-R tyres because they have been recommended to me by my firend and I do not regret my decision. My driving style is rather smooth and careful. I do not have to prove anything on the road. I noticed an increase of fuel consumption after a montage (it increased from 4,9 to 5,2l – computer indication). Sometimes the tyres are louder but I think it depends on a type of a surface. I had a dangerous situation on the road. I was driving at high speed on a corner and I thought I will wipe out but, fortunately, the Toyo Proxes T1-R helped me to stay on the road. After this terrifying moment I have decided not to repeat my irresponsible behaviour. Although I have changed my driving habits I feel much safer on the road because I know that I have best quality tyres. The only thing that could be better is the price. At the beginning of their use they were quite noisy but after about 1000 miles they are more silent. I always had a problem with so called feathering of the tyres fitted to my cars. I usually drive alone. My previous tyres did not even last for 35k miles, and despite they had quite decent tread, I had to buy new ones because the old ones were very loud when driving. I hope that these tyres will not feather so fast. While driving on a motorway in Germany in heavy rain behind a lorry as soon as I pressed the brakes, I felt the car glide forward but it was a heavy downpour, although the impression was not pleasant. 10000 km of calm driving with a tendency to a bit more aggressive one, and the tyres grip very well. I live in an area with roads in poor condition and I am satisfied with the tyres more due to the fact they take on driving on prro surfaces. Also, they are very durable, driving over a hole resulted in a smashed wheel which needed repairing, and surprisingly the tyre was fine and didn't even lose the pressure.. (Ranking system should be modified, I do not see any sense for evaluation of summer tyresin winter categories). Worth buying! Read more Collapse

To be honest, profile 50 is not perfect for Focus, on which the tyres are fitted, but the car looks great, runs like on tracks, it's quiet and feels confident at every mile and at any speed. Low profile and properties of these tyres are perfect for high-speed corners, or sudden emergency maneuvers. Tyres never squeal (hard braking, rush start on the intersection). Sometimes they spin when rush starting on wet roads. After 7000 miles I haven't noticed any excessive wear. I definitely recommend them :) Read more Collapse

These aren't just excellent tyres for the price point, these are excellent full stop. Although there are better compounds out there now, you have to spend considerably more per corner to beat the Proxies all round. +'s Good grip wet or dry Reasonable Wear rates (for a softer tyre) Bargain pricing -'s Rather soft sidewalls, they suit lighter cars much better. I had these tyres on the rear of my Smart Fortwo Turbo 2012 (215/40/16) and if I went above 60mph the tyres felt like they were made of jelly!! I messed around with the tyre pressures but they acted the same. They wobbled all over the road to the point where I took them off after using them for a week and bought the recommended Yokohama S Drives. If you're thinking of buying these I would suggest paying a little more and buy the Yoko's. Read more Collapse

A well-known company, a nice-looking tyre, but... the most important thing is, I will certainly not buy the Toyos again, because at speeds above 70 MPH the car shakes so badly that coffee pours out of my mug! Last season I had my wheels balanced about 5-6 times, also when they were on the car and nothing helped. It turned out that such problems don't exist after I had a different set of winter tyres fitted. Read more Collapse

One of the best tyres in its price range - at such price it is difficult to find something better. They don't squeal - not more than just the cry of the asphalt ;) Lots of grip, good water drainage. if I had to look for cons, it would be the noise level (not dominant, but this is not a quiet tyre - however it didn't bother me) and the tendency to feathering (fairly typical for "herringbone" pattern tyres). I did about 1500 miles with 195/50/15 T1-R on wet and dry testing their grip, and I'm positively surprised. On wet they sometimes had a slight grip loss on fast bends, but my car kept its grip on dry. They're a bit noisy, taking into consideration that Civic 5gen. is not very well soundproofed. 45 pounds per tyre is not much. I would recommend these tyres to those who appreciate the driveability. Although I just got these tyres for the first time, I think they are excellent. Previously I had Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 tyres and I think Toyos don't stand out from such great brands as Michelin that much. They are on the same quality level and are worth purchasing. They have great traction, look great, and behave sensationally on dry and wet surfaces. I recommend the Proxes. Read more Collapse

The best tyre I used so far, when it comes to traction, grip and comfort of driving on wet and dry surfaces. It's quite soft and made of relevant materials, which results in a truly revolutionary driving comfort. The tyre tire wears off quite quickly when driving aggressively but I'll by the Toyos again as they provide high comfort and safety. Read more Collapse

The tyre's worth the money paid for it and it surprised me nicely. The only fault I noticed is driving in the rain - the tyre loses grip and starting up the hill is like a license exam task of handbrake start up the hill... Need to be careful with the throttle, otherwise you may lose grip and the wheels get to spin. Read more Collapse

Naturally, not tested in winter. I didn't calculate its rolling resistance. tread wear is insignificant as the car on which the tyres are mounted (VW Golf Mk II VR6) The car does sensationally on dry surfaces, however on wet unfortunately even ESD is useless (320 Nm of the VRi does its job: D) Read more Collapse

Taking into consideration the fact that the tyre did'nt have an up-to-date DOT, its price and quality, it's one of the best tyres I've ever had the opportunity to drive on. If someone does 20000 miles and so they're not a sunday driver, they will be very happy with this tyre. Read more Collapse

Great grip when cornering! Braking on dry is great, as well as on wet, previously I had Goodyear Eagle F1s andt the Toyos are incomparably better inall aspects... well, maybe they are a bit louder, but the tyres are worth their price.. Read more Collapse

Price, design and quality are great advantages of this tyre. It is quite hard, whichis visible when fitting, but it is sensational during hot days, it's not sticky, nicely goes into corners and there are no problems on wet surfaces. Read more Collapse

I was very happy with the purchase of these tyres. Great traction on both dry and wet surface, unfortunately unfortunately the faulty toe-in caused the front tyres to wear off quickly. Overall the tyre is definitely worth buying. Read more Collapse

Tyres perform very well on the road, due to the size they have great grip in the corners. The only fault is a piece of rubber breaking apart after hitting the curb, which has never happened when I used different tyres. Read more Collapse

Tread pattern seems to do what the suppliers say in road holding & comfort terms. The pattern of tread despite it's safety and gripping capabilities looks great on low profile tyres and suits the look of my cabriolet. Read more Collapse

Tyres fitted to a Porsche 928, despite the profile increased from 50 to 55 I was pleasantly surprised, great grip, we feel confident when cornering despite the large centrifugal force. I sincerely recommend them! Read more Collapse

Plenty of grip in the dry under heavy braking, accelerating and cornering. Not a track tyre but would hang in there. Lasting well, certainly would last long (25k miles) for casual drivers. Good value tyres! Read more Collapse

Never had these give or do anything unexpected. Tonnes of dry weather grip, that's always progressive so you can feel exact ally what your cars doing at all times. Great tyre, highly reccomended. Read more Collapse

Some properties of this tyre are hard to judge because I have this model on my car's rear axle, The car had a likeliness to oversteer in wet conditions, but it is very easy to overcome. Read more Collapse

Great looking tyres which give good driveability for the summer and autumn, but you have to be careful when expecting snow, because tread is completely unsuitable for slippery surfaces. Read more Collapse

I did 25000 miles with the tyres. No slipping on dry or wet (dynamic driving style). Great grip when braking. A bit noisy on the bumps (suspension of the car is ok). Read more Collapse
