Opinion from outside the UK
The most quiet tyre with directional tread. Great handling on dry surface. On wet it behaves in corners like on dry -great grip, braking on a decent surface is very good, but if the asphalt is "worn", ABS turns on very quickly. But these tyres aren't designed for such conditions. It drains water like a water pump. And has great looks. Superb tyre, it is difficult to find a better one to buy. Read more Collapse

Tire grips very well in the corners. It's relatively quiet, doesn't show any excessive wear after 6000 miles. Stylistically great. The tread pattern does well on wet, but I don't drive fast on wet. Generally, it's a good choice in this price range for a sports-style car. Now I changed my car to a more powerful one (also a Honda ;) ) and I will certainly consider purchasing these tyres again. I bought these tyres because I liked the looks of the tread. The behavior of the vehicle was a great and positive surprise for me. On dry they grip the surface like they were covered with glue, no matter if ti's a straight or a corner. Quiet and soft. Just great. Even with more aggressive driving stlye there's nothing to complain about, and you have to try hard to make the car skid. Read more Collapse

I bought the tyres when I was changing my wheels from 15" to 16". Excellent cornering grip. The car is "glued" to the road. Despite the change of the profile from 60 to 45 driving driving hasn't changed. A great advantage is the fringe protector. Amazing performance when braking. bacause of the appearance, the car looks much better. Great water drainage. I definitely recommend! Read more Collapse

Although I just got these tyres for the first time, I think they are excellent. Previously I had Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 tyres and I think Toyos don't stand out from such great brands as Michelin that much. They are on the same quality level and are worth purchasing. They have great traction, look great, and behave sensationally on dry and wet surfaces. I recommend the Proxes. Read more Collapse

Great grip on wet, the pedal is pressed to the metal when starding and there's no wheelspin, to be honest, my 75 BHP is no record breaker, butcin comparidon to previous Firestones it's a very pleasant surprise. T1-R is an incredibly quiet tyre, no squealing when braking or starting on dry asphalt, no squealing when taking tight corners. In my opinion, it's a jewel among tyres. Read more Collapse

I've never had better tyres. I bought a new car with winter tyres so I had to buy summer ones. I've been using them for one season and the impression's great. The'y're incomparable to my previous tyres I had fitted to other cars. After about 2000 miles I haven't noticed any tread wear, the grip is superb both on dry and wet roads. I definitely recommend the purchase. Read more Collapse

Very good tyres with good grip, a little worse on wet but it's normal as we can't do anything against physics. Generally speaking, I recommend them as they're very good tyres - this morning the cost of their purchase got "refunded" to me as using my previous set of tyres I would crash into the trunk of a Golf, today there was still some distance between the cars :) Read more Collapse

Really sensational tyre. I had a lot of different tyres before these ones perform the best. I often drive on race tracks so I know which tyre's good and which is not. It wonderfully sticks to dry surface, there's no slipping. It's quiet and doesn't squeal. It's a lot better than Dunlop SP Sport 01s and Goodyear GT3s which I had recently. I definitely recommend. Generally, the tyre is very good... there's nothing to complain about on wet. Gets a 6 when driving normally (calmly) on dry. Great grip when driving fast, but there's this constant effect of swerving... This gives a mixed feeling... For someone who is looking for a good tyre for a stock car, it is 100% recommended, but not necessarily for rally lovers ;) Read more Collapse

I bought Proxes T1-R for the last time! I don't drive aggressively, but new tyres are worn out after two sudden brakings! Someone drove out on me in his Fiat 126 I had to brake from 60 to 20 MPH and my wheel started to vibrate, it appeared the tread was gone and the tyre got "bald"! I'm going to buy RainSport 1 for the next season, we'll see how it does. Read more Collapse

Generally I am 100% satisfied with the tyres, excellent grip in corners, no problems on dry, a little worse on wet but it seems to me that they still beat the compatitors in this price range, relatively quiet. Their great advantage is the fringe protector, and about their wear-off... it's normal, they're soft so they wear faster than harder ones... Read more Collapse

The tyre has amazing grip on dry. It's a bit worse ruding heavy rains. Don't try using it on snow, when I went to chenge my tyres in winter as the snow fell, the engine got cut out after a gentle step on the brakes, even ABS didn't switch on and wheels got instantly blocked instead :) Well, but these aren't winter tyres :) Generally I recommend. The best tyre I used so far, when it comes to traction, grip and comfort of driving on wet and dry surfaces. It's quite soft and made of relevant materials, which results in a truly revolutionary driving comfort. The tyre tire wears off quite quickly when driving aggressively but I'll by the Toyos again as they provide high comfort and safety. Read more Collapse

Cool tyres - they have great grip when cornering on dry and wet surfaces - I think it's a quiet tyre, although some people complain about the noise level, I didn't notice anything like that - braking on different road surfaces at different weather conditions is OK - I haven't done much with them, but I'm satisfied - and I definitely recommend. Soft central part and hard sidewalls make this tyre grip perfectly in corners and greatly fits into ruts. The soft center of the tyre got me worried, because I was afraid they will wear off soon. Nothing like this has happened. Even the front tyres on an FWD car (450 Nm torque, frequent rush starts) are still usable. Definitely recommendable. Read more Collapse

Great grip, great look. I made 7 thousand miles with a set of 4 tires. Normal wear-off - rear ones are like new. Sensational grip when cornering. They're a little bit elastic but I guess it's normal with profile 50. Also they do well on wet - sensational when it comes to aquaplaning. They beat all summer Pirellis and Michelins without doubt. I can definitely recommend, I had Barums and similar class tyres before, but eventually I decided to buy a decent tyres and chose Toyo. Great tyres, provide wonderful grip on dry and wet and they shock with their grip in corners! Quiet, its tread wears off normally. This is the second set of these tyres and I don't want to buy anything else. Read more Collapse

Tyres are very good both on dry and wet surfaces. The main advantage of these tyres, next to appearance, of course, is high comfort despite their low profile. The tyre is soft, so the grip is very good, but it's a little bit worse at high temperatures. The wear-off level is quite good for such type of tyres. I definitely recommend. Read more Collapse

Very well-designed tyres for dry surfaces. Good grip, moderate noise level. Behaves very well when driving fast and aggressively. On wet they behave relatively well, taking into account the tread pattern. First aggressive drive in heavy rain may me a slight surprise, because its grip is absolutely different from the one on dry. Read more Collapse

Tyre is definitely worth recommending. Oppositely to many reviews about weak grip in corners I bought such tyres and I am satisfied. Wonderful grip in corners, even at high speed. Excellent water drainage. At low temperatures driving comfort drops significantly and the tyre gets hard. Well, but it's definitely a summer tyre. Read more Collapse

It's described as a sports tyre, but it's not necessarily the one. My car is lowered by 35 mm using Eibach springs, cornering is OK but dynamic start and braking causes losing the grip and ABS to turn on. Driving on wet is a nightmare, I bought them because of their opinions, but I won't do it again. They're incredibly loud. Read more Collapse
Summary: I do not recommend this tyre
The grip on wet surface 2/5

For these tyres, the correct air pressure is very important. Small differences result in significant swerving of the car on the side where the pressure's lower. The wear-off and its grip on wet is not the best. On dry the tyre's stable even at high speeds in the corners. I recommend it, however its lifespan may discourage. Read more Collapse

The tyres behave sensationally on dry, a little worse on wet. If someone does not make burnout donuts or "burn rubber" when starting, then after 30000 miles (one season) there was enough tread to make twice as much of a distance. Now I bought the PX4 for testing, but I recommend T1-R it's quality-price ratio is 6.0! Read more Collapse

The tyre's worth the money paid for it and it surprised me nicely. The only fault I noticed is driving in the rain - the tyre loses grip and starting up the hill is like a license exam task of handbrake start up the hill... Need to be careful with the throttle, otherwise you may lose grip and the wheels get to spin. Read more Collapse

Well, taking into account its price-quality ratio (at least in this size) - sensational. I hesitated about the purchase, but it turned out I was wrong. The tyres are great, good cornering grip, not to mention its behaviour on wet and at higher speeds. I can't complain about its waear-off. Definitely a good tyre. Read more Collapse

Sensational tyre, does great on dry and wet, during cornering and braking. It is so far the most quiet directional tyre available. it's not heard at any speed. Previously, I had Michelin Pilot Sport directional tyres and they were extremely noisy. I highly recommend T1-R. There's no better one at that price. Read more Collapse

Very good grip on dry surfaces, perfect in corners on wet - like on tracks, but you have to be careful with the throttle. The car can be easily pulled out from a slide. I recommend it to all who like fast and aggressive driving. The only drawback is the speed of abrasion. I will definitely buy them again. Read more Collapse

I'm very satisfied with the Proxes T1-R. They provide great handling on dry, and I felt safe when driving in wet (of course at speed relevant to the weather conditions). The looks gets a 100% 10/6- they present themselves beautifully. I recommend it to everyone who like to use their car's power :) Read more Collapse

They're rather poor, oppositely to opinions of majority who are impressed by its looks. I hoped they would be better than previous ones, but I got disappointed. Maybe its comfort of use is better as it's a soft tyre, but it wears off quickly and the car may swerve on the road. it's average on wet. Read more Collapse

Sensational tyre on dry roads, asphalt, concrete at high temperatures. It goes into corners like it was no challenge at high speed, it's quiet and economical. But beware! it's risky to suddenly go through water on it. It behaved dangerously when driving on road stripes. That's the only drawback. Read more Collapse

Naturally, not tested in winter. I didn't calculate its rolling resistance. tread wear is insignificant as the car on which the tyres are mounted (VW Golf Mk II VR6) The car does sensationally on dry surfaces, however on wet unfortunately even ESD is useless (320 Nm of the VRi does its job: D) Read more Collapse

I am very satisfied! I had Pirelli P5000 Dragos before. Not only were they louder and had lower grip, they also caused the car to slide on wet. Toyos are great, I did not slide even once. I had to make emergency braking from 100 to 50 MPH on the motorway in heavy rain and the car behaved well. Read more Collapse

Very good performance on wet roads. Grips greatly on dry. Very effective in braking and no slipping during starts. Doesn't squeal in tight corners, but if you go too hard, it whirs a bit. I am very satisfied with its driveability and appearance. I just bought the next set for the second car. Read more Collapse
The tyre is excellent on dry. It is like glued to the surface when cornering. Fringe protector works great. On wet it behaves very badly, the car gets understeer. Starting on wet is always equal to wheel spinning, and ABS switches on when braking. You really need to be careful on wet. Read more Collapse

Very good tyres. Car drives like glued to the road (a '99 Almera). They're very quiet even when driving fast on the motorway. Great grip in the corners! But for me its fault is the hardness (at profile 50) and the fact that they are cracked despite the fact they are only 3 years old. Read more Collapse

Great tyre, on warm days it sticks to the surface like a slick tyre, the only drawback may be its wuick wear-off, but it's normal with such compound. I recommend to everyone who like going fast in the corners - there's no need to be afraid of losing grip, you will not be diappointed! Read more Collapse

Good tyres at a decent price. After fitting them to my car I noticed the grip is much better and braking distance has definitely decreased. On wet they're also OK - their water drainage is great. About wear-off - front tyres have a bit less tread but it's probably a decent wear-off. Read more Collapse

Tyres are generally fine, but after 2000 miles appeared a "bubble" on the internal side (and I was on the motorway, so practically there weren't any curbs etc.). I didn't make a complaint as I'm sure it would be described as user's fault. Apart from that, I definitely recommend. Read more Collapse

Taking into consideration the fact that the tyre did'nt have an up-to-date DOT, its price and quality, it's one of the best tyres I've ever had the opportunity to drive on. If someone does 20000 miles and so they're not a sunday driver, they will be very happy with this tyre. Read more Collapse

After driving 25000 miles and driving over a sharp curb the tyre gave up. Due to that I am forced to buy a new set of tyre, but I'll do it with pleasure, and they will be T1-R tyres again. There's not aquaplaning in wet. Of course, the tyre needs to warm up, but it does great. Read more Collapse

Excellent tyre! Wonderful grip on dry asphalt, a little bit worse on wet but it's much better in comparison to, for example, R888s. generally the tyres can't be even heard. As for me, it's a sensational tyre for a decent price. The next set I'll buy will be definitely T1-R. Read more Collapse

I'll be honest to say that I wanted to buy good tyres at a decent price and managed to do so. So far I can't compalin as the car goes well on dry and wet surfaces, moderate driving style, 75% in the city, 25% outside the city. I didn't notice any excessive or fast wear. Read more Collapse

The tyres stick very well to dry surface. They're quite soft which is the reason of their quick wear-off, but it also depends on driving style. Generally a good tyre to purchase. I got them when they were at the price of £ 45 per tyre, and I really don't regret it. Read more Collapse

Typical summer season tyres. It's better to fit winter tyres for winter. Good grip when driving on straights and in corners. A big advantage is its braking distance, fringe protector, appearance and price. It's number one when it comes to price-quality ratio. Read more Collapse
