Yokohama W Drive

3PMSF

The tyre meets the European Union's requirements for winter tyres

Carries the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Flake) symbol, which is awarded after the model in question has been thoroughly tested for snow grip.

Yokohama W Drive is a winter tyre of the premium class designed for the passenger cars.

Functional tread patterns, unique sipes shapes and the application of advanced rubber compound ensure splendid performance on every kind of surface. Optimal layout of the main longitudinal grooves enables the outflow of the melting snow and also maintenance of maximum tyre’s point of contact on all kinds of surfaces. Optimised grooves width between the blocks enables the outflow of the melting snow ensuring additional adhesion by the reinforced edge effect. Original, three-dimensional shape of the sipes with polyhedral surface ensures high performance on the dry, wet and snowy surface. Increased sipes density reinforces maximally edge effect on the snowy and icy surfaces. Tread depth indexes on the main groove compose the additional safety measures. W Drive tyres compound responds to wide range of temperatures ensuring optimal performance in various winter conditions. ‘Flexible polymer’ maintains softness and flexibility in the low temperatures. ‘Micro Silica’ with the particles smaller than the conventional silica preserves stiffness and stability in high temperatures due to the strong polymers combined, although soft polymers were used.

ZERUMA™ is a special addition improving the silica dispersion in the tyre, designed by YOKOHAMA. Silica compound ZERUMA™ lowers the dependence from temperature in comparison with the conventional mix method.

Asymmetric construction of the highly stiff tread ensures perfect balance of performance on the dry, wet and snowy surfaces.

Longitudinal, original, three-dimensional grooves with polyhedral surface guarantee high performance on the dry, wet and snowy surfaces. Tread depth indexes on the main groove increase safety ensuring information. W Drive tyre compound is appropriate for the wide range of temperature zones ensuring optimal performance in various winter conditions.

Yokohama W Drive is a winter tyre designed for the passenger cars. It belongs to the premium class which ensures highest quality.

I purchased a full set of tyres approximately 3 years ago and have been driving approximately 20,000 miles per year, they have lasted extremely well over motorway and country roads and performed well in snow and iced up roads. I have replaced all 4 tyres now over a period of two years with the same make and type and would recommend these tyres to anyone who has a mixed driving requirement of motorway, country roads and the occasional mud/snow driving Read more Collapse

Size not listed on here, but mine are 225/55/R18. Fitted in November 2011, seemed expensive at the time (£175 each) but well worth it. Car has performed very well with them in some pretty icy, snowy and wet conditions. Have now taken them off for Spring/Summer/Autumn and will put back on October/November 2012 for the winter. Opinion from outside the UK

I have not had such good tires on rims. It is true that I have owned in Yokohama's already summer version, but the class below. The current tires are still positively surprise me. The first thing I saw, or rather heard, their quiet working. To the extent that I went back to driving a car without the radio on to be able to listen to the motor. The second thing I noticed is bdb.przyczepność. The car comes in and turns without slipping on a dry road, and wet, and snowy (not counting those moments in which I specially slip, but it is easy to grab and then asphalt) on different surfaces bitumen. Of course, the ice is not to go, but compared eg from Michelin, is fun. Another thing potable at high speeds (except of course the proper braking) is a start. Too much gas of messages means 'white smoke', but I noticed (even on slippery surfaces) that permit the car to roll at the beginning makes catch traction tires pretty quickly, and in a moment you can scamper ahead. This is good news, because I was in the other cases, the problem is not in the sense of raz- slipped accelerating. The last has probably less cool feature of these tires, but still nice is their appearance: ideally suited for Japanese cars, and I think that made an impression and maluchu not only the brand name (if Yokohama such small parameters of course). To summarize reliable tire! I highly recommend and Sunday hikers and those who like a little more aggressive driving or driffting. Check up and allow you to enjoy the ride! Read more Collapse

Until now, "suffering a" Pirelli tyres and the Honda Civic Cormorants 1.4iS, just before the Seicento and a Polish or something Maluchu (but that was a long time ago and can not remember what I had). That concludes my first "winter" behind the wheel of Volvo and also the first time in my life to Yokohamach. I decided on the tyres through this website and your feedback. I. .. I do not regret! Tyre very quiet, very stable and effective on a dry surface. Wet - known to be worse, but always without problems. Snow collects on an ambitious, if we use gas sparingly (as dowalisz to the max, it's probably only the spikes will not have pressing shoe). Ice - any ice is difficult to drive, unless you drive a tank or ratrak.Komfort unusual - you do not hear the rolling tyre, the hole does not cause excessive noise, no whistles in the wind. What to wear - hard for me to judge because I do not know so well, and also the ruler is not extinguished every now and then to the wheels. But visually the tyre is fine. General: use moderation behind the wheel and the tyre will be able to put themselves 6! (For Kormoranach moderation is not always help - sometimes needed was accurate calculation and testing - and it might not be the time). Read more Collapse

The so-called. "Goo" and "bold" asphalt - weak. On the big snow - well, a small - so so. When dry asphalt - where, in the wet not too much. I do not know how to abrasion. According to me, very quiet. In tight curves too hard to "bend", but it's also the wine profile and heavy car. This is the opinion of the urban cycle. On the way strange - because it is very well described in all respects. For example, when a strong gust of wind, a very large rain (this involves a large amount of water in the ruts), and where no where splashing acquitted themselves very well. What is interesting, but the sooner the better. "Cuts" smart water. It's all going normally last no less than 130 km / h, and at times 190 km / h I drove no more due to the index. That's my opinion about the above tyre after the experience of the "Michelin", "Kleber", "Good Year" and "Fulda" in the same class. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Today I bought a set. these tyres (for PLN189 - / 1 pc) tempted attractive price and good feedback from users. After installing them, I decided to ride the 20 km to the correct orientation and "mat" and then went to the famous episode of "test". I'm very, very pleasantly surprised properties of these tyres! Feeling like a car had winter tyres not only years of ballet shoes! On a slightly frosted and snow (about 2 inches of snow) road, up to 60 km / h tyre "holds" basically like summer year. Slight lateral drift observed only in the long arc at a speed of 95th .. 100 km / h Braking test went very well! I do not have deep snow or ice, so I can not judge starting in the snow to start standing and behavior at high speeds in the snow. However, even these preliminary "research" shows that these tyres is my best purchase of 1997! After the season will write more details. Greetings to all! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I read the reviews of tires YOKOHAMA, because I wanted just such a purchase. The majority opinion expresses a very good reputation ow / tire. Among read opinion are such that even "sigh" on these tires. Therefore, I ordered and bought a tire YOKOHAMA W drive - winter. After putting on the rims and the first few kilometers I began to regret this purchase. The reason is that the speed range of 80 - 100 km / h tires just "humming" I rode the ankle, except that in this area there are also slight, but annoying vibrations of the steering wheel (wheels balanced three times in different factories - to no avail). Probably the tires have a minimum burchle, which can not be seen - thinner rubber in some places. The rest of the parameters of the tire is ok, but to be honest, I'm disappointed with the purchase. Perhaps so I went, but the disgust remains. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

tyres bought in November 2008 after reading many positive opinion, sadly disappointed. On dry and wet roads - really a revelation! faint, a sensational run, braking and grip in curves and on a very good summer tyres, but when the snow falls it is better not to get into the car - huge problems with starting, even when I let the clutch gently, frequent slippage in corners, etc. These are the worst of winter tyres on which ridden - and I compare to those winter tyres: Cormorant, Frigo2, Goodyear UltraGrip 5, Michelin Alpin and Uniroyali. I would add that I persuaded my friend to buy the same tyres, the toy car is Honda Accord and is so pleased they did not give that to them at any price - think it's the best winter tyres on what has so far ridden, "that will give them a go even the wall. " It turns out that in one car come true and others are not. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Hello! I bought this tire suggesting that the opinions on some of the tire, which had great reviews. Unfortunately, practice and the facts are quite different. This is not a tire on snow, ice or slush. Most tragically falls braking, some summer tires perform better. These are the worst of winter tires on which I had the pleasure to ride, and I rode really many. When you buy a winter tire, we want most of all well-behaved in the snow or icy road, the less we are interested in is great for dry or a little wet. Here you can handle each tire to a degree sufficient. Fatal stress inhibition in slush, snow or not to mention the icy road, very pauses to overcome pools of water. Advantage - is quiet and that's all. Strongly advise against. Read more Collapse

Welcome. On tyres W.Drive przejeździłem just two winter seasons. What surprised me the most in these tyres is low noise. Do not carry out any measurements of volume but turning a sensation for the summer Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is definitely in favor of Yokohama. A little unusual because usually winter tyres are louder than summer tyres but apparently in this respect the Japanese odrobili lessons. Very good performance on dry roads, good wet, the snow quite well but can not revelations. How to Polish moderate winters and assuming that we do not choose the Alps are a great tyre. Especially when taking into account the relatively attractive price compared to other branded manufacturers and a really good wear resistance. I recommend! Read more Collapse

Tyres and tyre. Several times I reached the corners well known to me, so I'm more careful than others in raptures. Generally, tyre, while a new, very quiet and comfortable. With the growing consumption of noise (even I was left with about 3 mm above the TWI). For a quiet ride can be of czystm conscience recommend. abrasion of the tyres, however, the drama. I did have higher mileage on winter tyres (approx. 45 - 60 tkm) and the driving style I have still the same if not quieter. Quality / price ratio I think is beneficial. But looking for better tyres. I do not recommend these tyres, I suggested August opinions but I was disappointed. As for the dry and wet weather is ok, but the snow is a disaster, today nasypało 5 cm of snow and I could not get away from the gate, I check the site almost flat, very slight hill and it's not the first time such behavior. I would recommend not only for Japanese cars, tested the tires of the manufacturer before the Toyota Avensis, and now I bought a few Kia Cee'd. Personally, I think that is a very good tire for mixed driving (city and ekspresówki / highway). Besides, the price for the quality is really encouraging. The tire copes very well with the ground wet and snow, and dry perfectly. At the end I will add that I bought these tires to six cars and excel very well. But now I see it's the best Winter Slippers I've had, practically silent, soft, my summer Continentale away from them impassable chasm, however, made in Japan it is, when you buy the next set of eyelid year I did not even twitch when ordering Toyo and Yokohama. Very good tyre - I bought the promotion for 179 zł art and looking at the current prices I am very happy. Tyre quiet, soft but fairly well holding the corners. A little slippery in the rain but in the end it winter tyre. After the first rain - shock! Zero slip, braking probably better than my summer Fuldach, no loss of adhesion in acute traction-pull like crazy. I think this shows a real tyre claw until the snow. I had better. Read more Collapse

Expensive, but worth it to buy them. Previously, I had the Michelins alpin4 and regretted the money spent although not buried anywhere or not I think the slip, but they were louder than the Yokohama W drive and less kept cornering. I go often to the mountains in the winter and I had winter tires from various manufacturers, safety and comfort are important to me, so with a clear conscience recommend these tires. One of the best tyres that I had. Very well stick to the road, little August clash (a dynamic workout), after the season and 16 ffm tread depth is 7.5 mm. Quiet, not teething, no problems in the snow, of course, need to be able to ride, but not the gas in the floor and count on it, the tyres will hold us. Yokohama also would buy a year, but unfortunately I have a set of good other year, so only a 2 - 3 years. Read more Collapse

A typical winter tire mid-priced, good behavior in dry conditions, fairly quiet (quieter than Nokia WR), well it drives the price very satisfactory. In the wet I happened to lose grip, but only once, immediately after the change from summer to winter tires and quite aggressively defeated turn (too fast), but also managed to quickly regain traction. In conclusion, this is a good tire to moderate driving. Read more Collapse
