Continental ContiEcoContact 5 is the flagship engineering product of Continental. The designers managed to make a breakthrough in terms of technology and design in all the elements that compose the tyres. The innovative components include the carcass, compound, tyre contour and tread pattern. The company used an innovative compound which helps to reduce rolling resistance and shorten the braking distance on wet surfaces. The new tyre contour considerably increases mileage and the innovative tread pattern significantly improves the braking efficiency in tough weather conditions.
Continental is a German company who have been manufacturing tyres for almost 150 years. Due to the systematic and development of high technologies, Continental is currently the fourth largest tyre manufacturer in the world. What is interesting is that Continental was the first company to equip their Research & Development Centre in Hanover with a computer tomograph aimed at optimising research and work on tyre prototypes.
