Opinion from outside the UK
I would definitely recommend the F1. Tested both on dry pavement and in a downpour on the motorway. Especially noticeable is the difference between other vehicles during a downpour. When other drivers are slowing down by a minimum of 20 km I am still driving on the pre-set cruise control. A really excellent choice in this tyre category. Highly recommended. Read more Collapse

The CLS had ok ish tyres when I purchased the car ok grip in the dry but when the rain came well skittish would be the word id use with nearly 400ftb of torque going through the rear tyres I needed something better. My mate had the Goodyear Eagle F1's Asymmetric 3 on his BMW E92 td he recommended these for my CLS and oh boy what a difference in the dry most of all the wet. When my 3's we're up for renewing I immediately upgraded to the Asymmetric 5's these bad boys come highly recommended from me. Read more Collapse

Going from mid range to these is the best thing i did for my car road stability is just 5star dry grip 5stars i now have trust in my car so i push it a little harder in the corners and to be fair in the dry I'd trust these tyres all day long, wet grip I've fou d there's slight under steer coming out of corners fast but still 5stars,fuel economy is down quite a bit but to be expected with these road hugging tyres, on a whole I'd recommed these tyres to anyone. The tyre provides very good traction, which is extremely important, especially in the rain or intense sun. The tyre is relatively quiet on the motorway, which adds an element of comfort to this high-performance compound. All in all, the Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric 5 appears to be a good choice for those looking for a tyre that will provide both performance and confidence in a variety of driving conditions, especially on heavier SUVs. I switched from Pirelli P Zero and these are definitely better. Their behaviour on a wet, flooded road had me positively surprised. Emergency braking in water-filled ruts passed with flying colours. When it comes to dry surfaces, I have no comments – it’s perfect. As a curiosity, I crossed the Stelvio Pass with them, when there was some snow on the road and temperatures were around 0 and it all went well. Read more Collapse

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 are premium class tyres designed for the UHP segment. Perfect for both sports cars, as well as more powerful SUVs and passenger cars. The asymmetrical tread pattern, adapted for driving at different speeds and intensities, is characteristic for the series. It has several very modern technological solutions that distinguish the model from the competition:
The sophisticated rubber compound provides shorter braking distances on dry and wet surfaces, while maintaining a very high resistance to damage.
The expanding contact strip adapts to the route traveled on, increasing the contact zone between the tyre and the road surface. Offers a shorter braking distance in wet conditions (up to 4% over the previous generation).
The innovative energy transmission system on the tread supports the precision of driving and shortens the reaction time of tyres to steering commands.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the successor of one of the most popular summer models on the market - Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. Uses the rich experience of the previous generation, further developing all parameters with new technologies and patents.
Goodyear is an American premium-class producer, ranked among the world's top. The company already employs over 60,000 people, working in 48 modern facilities. The company made its debut on the rubber products market in 1898. It owes its name to Charles Goodyear - it honors the inventor who laid the groundwork for today's tyre market.
