    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Alpin 5 tyres are not the cheapest but in retrospect I have to admit that the choice was very good, and now would not have bought other tires. Tyres were doing very well on the road where the snow was thick, glaciated layer of snow was not the problem. During heavy rain or snowfall journey on highway at a speed of 140 km / h was not the trouble. The car sticks to the track perfectly. Braking distance very good. Incineration has increased slightly - almost imperceptibly. With a clear conscience I can recommend to all Michelin Alpin 5 ps. If only everyone drove on these tyres, it would be safer on the roads. :) Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Fantastic tyre - both on dry and wet surface. As for winter tyreMichelin Alpin 5 is very quiet. When it comes to driving on snow and mud, it is very well, but when you drive to drift sniff biting down in the tread is able to turn the ESP - where the tread is clear that there is no such possibility. The only minor drawback is that the tread collects stones (And it is quite a large problem). Generally in good conscience recommend the Michelin Alpin 5 (at least size 205 / 60R16 92H). Opinion from outside the UK

I would recommend. It should be remembered that these tires very well hold when braking but uphill tragically. At a little sharper rise in snow the way I have to climb back. Front often has no chance even for a little snow. Besides, for me they are great: quiet and less like bumps in the road. Rolling resistance almost does not feel (and are winter tires). Technology description: Michelin ALPIN 5 is a response to the needs of all drivers who expect their winter tyres to provide excellent performance regardless of the weather and driving safety in any conditions.

The model is equipped with a directional tread pattern which ensures the appropriate traction on snow and increased aquaplaning resistance. With its optimised structure, the tyre also offers improved driving precision. The sipes deployed at the extreme depths of the tread blocks provide maximum performance parameters for the whole of the tyre’s lifespan. This is also supported by the distribution of pressures acting against the surface of the ALPIN 5, so the tread wears uniformly and slowly.

The tyre was designed using an innovative rubber compound ensuring good performance parameters in low temperatures. With this, the ALPIN 5 provides better grip on snowy and wet surfaces and also reduces fuel consumption. The Helio Compound 4G rubber mixture contains sunflower oil and silica. Thanks to its flexibility, the tread adheres to the road with its maximum area no matter the weather. As a result, the grip and stability while driving always remains optimum.

The combination of high-quality components with the optimised tread pattern improves the acoustic comfort inside and outside of the vehicle. Noise generated during operation are effectively dampened so the driver and passengers may enjoy quiet inside the vehicle.
