The tyre meets the European Union's requirements for winter tyres
Carries the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Flake) symbol, which is awarded after the model in question has been thoroughly tested for snow grip.
According to premium manufacturer brand Pirelli, the Powergy™ Winter model is a smart choice for winter, especially when water is abundant and melting snow on the roads. This is because Pirelli has ensured effective protection against aquaplaning, thanks to the V-shaped tread that also maximises grip and braking performance on slippery ground. The side blocks are criss-crossed with transverse grooves, and the arrangement of the sipes - opposite to the alignment of the main grooves - improves control of the car.
The tread's effectiveness is supported by a compound containing grip-enhancing polymers and plasticisers. Thanks to this second component, the tyre retains its properties even in sulphurous frost and also in warmer conditions - the temperature spectrum of tyre use is wider.
Hailing from Italy, the Pirelli brand has been supplying users with tyres that can certainly be described as premium for more than a century and a half. Among other things, the company is known for its sponsorship of sporting events or the publication of the now-famous Pirelli calendar. In terms of Italian competition support, it is worth mentioning Formula 1 races, as well as the World Superbike Championship or World Rally.
