215/50 R17 Tyres

215/50 R17 tyres are installed in executive cars. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall. It is provided with the help of a string of numbers. The tread width of the tyre is provided in millimetres by the first number. In the case of the 215/50 R17 tyre it is 215 mm. The second number equals the tyre profile's height and its percentage ratio to the tyre's tread width, meaning 50% out of 215 mm. The R17 marks the radial construction type of the tyre ("R") and the diameter of the wheel rim on which the tyres should be installed (provided in inches - here 17 inches).
