Durability, excellent driving behaviour on any surface and pleasant journeys are just some of the benefits of the Firestone Winterhawk 3. The tyre was designed for use in passenger cars. Thanks to a directional tread with a V-shaped arrangement, the model guarantees short braking distances on wet roads and a high level of driving safety. The designers of the tyre put a great deal of thought into an optimum distribution of forces within the tyre. This means that the tread wears evenly and slowly and the full range of performance can be achieved throughout the model's service life, regardless of the figure on the milometer. Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres ensure stable driving behaviour, with the vehicle sticking to its path and providing optimum safety during sudden manoeuvres, such as lane changes or emergency braking. The directional tread ensures outstanding evacuation of snow and slush. The V-shaped arrangement of the grooves evacuates water rapidly and effectively. The tread pattern also protects against aquaplaning and ensures that the vehicle maintains outstanding grip, regardless of the weather. The Firestone Winterhawk 3 is the ideal solution for all drivers looking for balanced performance, short braking distances and stable driving behaviour, regardless of the road surface or weather conditions.

Opinion from outside the UK
The Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyre model is according to me pretty much simmilar to winterhawk 2. In fact, the good behavior of the previous generation prompted me to just such a choice, but pretty soon I realized that it's practically the same. The primary parameter for me to evaluate is the ability to move off on wet or snow-covered roads, the previous generation is of no difference, compared to the summer. The behavior of the car was so much different, after a month of use I went to the MOT in order to check the drive AWD, if it works correctly because those were starting to feel very different from their prodecessor. I decided to drive on the Firestone Winterhawk 3 until the end of the season, i'll be considering selling those and getting something new. In the end I can mention that i was using 2 generation for 3 seasons and have carried them around 40k miles. Read more Collapse

Hello. I'm currently using the second set of the winterhawk 2 tyres. I was using the first set during 7 seasons (7 years) and they did not lose their properties to the very end so I was very pleased with them and with their grip so I decided to buy a new Firestone Winterhawk 3. I drove on them them about 2000 miles already nand I am quite impressed as they are definitely even more quiet than the Winterhawk 2 model. I'm often travelling to mountainous areas to ski so snow is not unfamiliar to me. Very good grip on snow-covered roads. Very good sush drainage. I am very pleased with them after the first season. I recommend Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres for people who are looking for tyres at a decent price with excellent driving properties. Read more Collapse

I drove around 2000 miles with Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres fitted on my car, of which two routes were more than 500m. They behave properly, especially in the snow. Somewhat lsignificant tread wear though, a bit larger than expected, so i can estimate that they would last for another two seasons. Average rolling resistance, which resulted in a noticeable fuel consumption on the road. Average noise level, which the road is a bit cumbersome, especially at higher speeds on dry roads. I'm not sure what the author meant by asking for an assessment of the appearance of the tyre. They look like normal tyres, round, black, with no special frills. To sum up: Firestone Winterhawk 3 are the regular tyres, you get exactly what you pay for. Read more Collapse

I was using Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres last winter, but it so happened that there were almost no snow in the area. During last 3 seasons I was using refurbished tyres which weren't much of a compare to these so no disappointment there. The wet grip on curves is peculiar. You can loose the grip sometimes and then immediately regain it if you do. Another good thing is that you won't really feel any road bumps and it's quiet.Unfortunately it wears quite quick but to be honest i'm not a slow driver so that was to be expected especially with my powerful engine. Durability of the tyre i bought my wife was better (those were Nokians) although she drives less. My tyre size is 185/60/15, driving the Fiat Bravo 147bhp. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 is a really good tyre for the price. I was going to buy dunlop tyres but at the last i've found Winterhawks to be something new on the market. The fact is this year's winter was not too harsh but still they proved themselves during a trip to the mountains. Very good adhesion on dry and wet roads. ESP does not turn up too often with violent traction. I do not know how those would fare with a heavier car but for a compact 150bhp I can surely recommend. Already tested Michelin alpine, now in the second car I have goodyears and i can boldly compare those 2 brands. Good tyre! Firestone Winterhawk 3 are definately to be RECOMMENDED. Read more Collapse

I have a Firestone Winterhawk 3 by the size of 195/65 R15. Tyre's very good due to its handling characteristics in all conditions with respect to its prices. The only downside is relatively soft sidewall which when rapidly steered wheel movement causes slight sliding of the rear of the car. If someone drives aggressively it might be a problem. I checked the other tyre hardness sides of the middle and upper shelf and a large part has sides as soft as Firestone Winterhawk 3 - maybe it's just that such technology domonant nowadays. I would recommend for riding in a normal and peaceful manner. Not recommended for aggressive riding. Read more Collapse

Outside the city i'm driving rather fast and local roads are rarely without some layer of snow. I'm usually driving on the Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres at the speed of 75 - 95 and just nothing bad ever happened! The car sticks the road very well and I did not happen aquaplane at all. I didn't change the tyres for summer, because those also hold great on the dry especially while cornering. The tread pattern is notched so that it creates a momentary discharge of large quantities of water from under the wheels, you can only see a big fountain in the rearview mirror. Read more Collapse

I live in the mountains near. Disappointing in conditions of rain mixed with wet, in particular the phenomena of aquaplaning and skidding under conditions in which I had not with other tires. On the snow sufficiently good. Overall I would say that in the same price range there are much better alternatives, in particular the Fulda tyres with which I had no doubt the best results. Only later did i found out that there might've been some trouble with wheel alignment so the Firestone Winterhawk 3 may be quite better in the end. Read more Collapse

Great winter this year was not so demanding for me to fully assess the typical winter tire performance. In my opinion Firestone Winterhawk 3 is a very good tire for driving in the conditions of autumn and winter, especially for city driving, where it prevails in recent years, mainly water and slush. In such conditions the car drives smoothly, the tire itself is very quiet and comfortable. At the time the tire also fairly well exercised on the snow covered route. I would recommend. I chose Firestone Winterhawk 3 tires because of the value for the assessment of ADAC. It is difficult to give a specific opinion on the particular characteristics of these tires because I have not tested them for the length of braking on different road surfaces, I did not measure how much noise they produce and other tests done or not. I can only say that in all the circumstances that befell me these tires did not disappoint me. I'd recommend! Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres were bought suggesting that the opinions of the previous model of the tire Winterhawk 2, which were in the tests, reviews received very high notes, so the choice fell on this very tyre. No regrets, tyres stick to the road, the car is maneuverable, does not throw the snow to the sides also behaves well (although not had a chance to double check because winter this year was like a spring) .. I would recommend. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 are very solid tires for a decent price, the winter made about 5000 km, of which about 2000 km of routes (motorways and ordinary country trips). In fact, the lack of any problems, only what little fault is to be found is the fact that 2-3 times in dry conditions on long corners, you could get the impression that they are trying to throw the car on the outside, but it could just as well be speed is too high ...;) Read more Collapse

Hi, I can definitely recommend Firestone Winterhawk 3 for commuters. Driving to work every day 15 miles one way, they never failed me and were days with plenty of snow and slush. On the wet behavior was superb I'm not a speeder so not moving the way to make tyres squeal on dry. These tyres were of good price and seemed of good quality besides that brand is US one owned by Bridgestone. I certainly can recommend these tires Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 tyres bought after recommending by consultant from Oponeo. Does the job, provide a comfortable ride around town (driving there 90% of the time). They provide security in emergency situations. With slush, unfortunately, there have been minor slippage during braking. The snow is conducted safely and not recorded any uncertain situation. While raining, adhesion also very well developed. Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 are my first new tires. I expected more from them, I have not tested them in the snow as last year's winter was mild. On dry pavement tire behave very well, while in the wet they lose traction a bit, resulting in a quick turn on the ABS and ESP. The reason for this can also be the vehicle mass (1700kg). As for comfort I do not have any claims, we know what the new tire is new. Read more Collapse

I think that Firestone Winterhawk 3 is good value for money. Also confirmed that in the workshop, where I got them fitted - an i enjoy a good opinion of experts. No noise, on a wet road I had no slipping any more than dry. Recently in the snow - moving off easily even driving uphill, - great traction even on heavy snow :) Read more Collapse

Firestone Winterhawk 3 have rather soft sides, so there's a bit of disadvantage for example when cornering at higher speeds. If someone runs quietly and takes care of the tires avoiding curbs is certainly these tires are made for him, they have fatastic grip, but as for me, i'd need something more sportylike. Winter 2013/2014 in Upper Silesia is practically the late autumn, and with no snow and slush, and therefore do not take into account the evaluation at this point. Tyres very good and stable lead in all conditions. In my humble opinion - would recommend to everyone not wanting to overpay for the company name and the test set (see - affair ADAC). Wide! Tires extremely quiet. I did not notice the difference between summer, early winter tires Pirelli Sotto Zero II were significantly louder. Very well on them rides on both dry and wet roads. Hello, the distance traveled 12,000 km allows me to say a bit about these tires. Good model, good lateral support. Snow, water, slush are not a problem for them. Using tires with regular checking of tire pressure is very small. Of course, I will not write how he behaves on ice because no standard tire on the ice holds. Read more Collapse

Tires fulfilling its role, what I have already tested this rather whimsical winter. Tires excel very well, much wild ride on rough roads and very well dampen inequality. tires for excellent grip on dry and wet roads, quiet, with soft shoulder that allows good absorption of road bumps.
