Michelin CrossClimate bears the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) mark. It may also be used where it is compulsory to drive on winter tyres. If you travel on summer or winter tyres all year round, this model is also perfect for you.

The development process lasted as long as 3 years. The tyre was tested in 7 European countries at temperatures ranging from -30°C to 40°C. Before the model was marketed, it was tested on as many as 5 million kilometres, undertook 1,000 lab tests and the final touches were taken care of by as many as 150 people.

michelin-cross-climat

This model is a much more technologically advanced design than other all-season tyres. It is no surprise that in the tyre labelling system Michelin CrossClimate has obtained the highest A rating in terms of performance on wet surfaces. Both according to the criteria used for summer and winter tyres. The tyre has also received the highest grade concerning noise.

The highest labelling class was achieved thanks to, among other things, its advanced tread. The directional tread pattern is the best protection against aquaplaning (skidding on wet surfaces). The manufacturer has also fitted the tread with 3D sipes. Their arrangement resembles the structure of summer tyres, but the geometry is similar to that used on winter tyres. With all that, the width of the sipes changes depending on the conditions. Thanks to this, the tyre bites into the pavement, taking care of traction and appropriate stability on bends regardless of the conditions (also on slippery surfaces).

Apart from the 3D sipes, the tyre is provided with blocks having bevelled edges. They ensure a large tyre/surface contact area, meaning a short braking distance on different types of surface. Michelin CrossClimate is made from a flexible rubber compound. This is another element which improves the tyre’s behaviour on wet, dry and snowy roads. The silica used in the model reduces the heat emission in the tyre.

Michelin is one of the largest tyre manufacturers on the market. The company was founded in 1889 in France. It owns such brands as Kleber, Kormoran or BFGoodrich. Michelin offer includes the highest class products. The tyre is only produced in Europe, in two Spanish and two German factories.

    Opinion from outside the UK

Tyres bought in size 185/65 R15 for a car that drives basically only in the city. With virtually no winters, I see no need to use and keep two sets of tyres, hence the choice. The tyres are not cheap, but it is still a little cheaper than buying and keeping two sets of tyres for a car that does only about 10,000 km a year. And here they are most suitable. The car drives stably, they do not make any noise. Both on dry and wet pavement is fine. Purchased six months ago and driven in the temperature range +20 to -15. On warm days the car does not float, behaves the same as in the cold. The tyres as new have 8mm of tread. After the mileage of about 6000 km it is less than 0.5 mm on both axles, so they should last a long time, even if the summer will be very hot. I haven't noticed any difference in the car's combustion. The only thing that hurts me is that subjectively in snow, slush it performs worse than Debica Frigo 2 (yes I know tests on YT praise it, but I know my own) from which I switched, and let's agree it was a 2 year old winter tyre, almost with full tread and it is certainly not a premium tyre (costs a little more than 1/2 the price of Michelin Crossclimate). I'd choose them again though, because I'd rather use up a relatively large amount of one tyre in say 5 years and replace it again with a new one than throw away two sets of tyres with almost full tread because of old rubber, or worse still try to drive on aged tyres.... So if you do up to 10k a year and in city traffic, I highly recommend it. If you live in the mountains or do more mileage only 2 sets of tyres and that's how it will stay in my second car. I bought these tires due to the necessary replacement of summer on the new - changed with Pirelli P7. Tires not yet tested in winter conditions, so I can not speak on the subject, hence the rating 4. Durability do not judge, because I have them too short. What to ride on these tires in summer conditions - in the city are brilliant! There are so quiet that a good class car has the impression - the forgiveness of gas - that the car levitates above the ground. I have previously two other sets of tires in premium and none were so quiet. Tires very well dampen road irregularities. I can say that my Audi A6 class only showed how good and quiet the car. Already the assembly method of the road test, it turned out that they are very well balanced. The burning visibly lower. The road at higher speeds also noticeably quieter, so that, for example. Bars on the side of the expressway on the sections where are acoustically louder and give resistance to safety - with these tires you can not hear! If winter conditions turn out to be as good as in summer, it never buy another tire model. I had my doubts as to their appearance, but they are great, the tread looks very sporty and sidewalls are indistinguishable from other summer. I have no doubt that the tires will cope in winter - especially the last few years show that the tire change does not make sense and will be more than enough to fulfill their role. It is worth investing in these tires and sincerely recommend it! Read more Collapse

Before I bought these tires wondering nearly a month of time. I checked the other tires, I compared etc. I talked with friends about the tires. Sentences were different. Part reborn as saying that there is something to all this is for nothing that there is no such tires which complies with summer and winter tires. I decided to buy tires. After assuming I took off on a tour of 1800 km. I am so far under the impression :). Tire quiet, nicely collects inequality. I was curious effect on wet roads. In Germany not limited stretch of highway pushed the boat out. 196 km / h in the rain, looking for tracks of water flowing over the highway. Probably someone will say that it is stupid but the effect of driving with these tires was and is stunning to me, the car was going like clockwork !!! gentle movement of the steering wheel and all that. The manufacturer has done a good job, as competition is probably already crying. I recommend these tires for those who want to feel 100% safety while driving his car. And I'm still curious winter, I'm sure I share your opinion. For me, the best tires for which so far have ridden Read more Collapse

I have been thinking about buying all season tyres for around for two years now. I have seen different models for 15 and 16 inch wheels. Finally, I decided that because of the price I would use 15 inch wheels. I have long considered a particular model Michelin CrossClimate. In the end, he convinced me a certificate for countries where winter tyres are mandatory. Recently I have been going all the time in the winter so the difference already at the start is quite high - they are much quieter, very well braking, they keep up the road during downpour in the rut. Thanks to the fact that this rather high profile is more comfortable than 16 inch. Interesting is the recurring motif of the Human on the side edge of the tread :) As for the grip on the snow I do not know, but it gives 5 of the tests that I could watch and homologate :) On dry and wet it works very well. How much for this reasonable price - for me the Michelin CrossClimate, revelation :) Read more Collapse

Tires already drove about 1 thousand kilometers along the route, and hundreds of the city. In conclusion I am satisfied. In comparison to the previous practice of tires (Dunlop Winter Sport 3D and Michelin Energy Saver. From winter definitely quieter than the summer too (but keep in mind that it was those tires around 6 years). They run very well, I have no objections. They are not worse than those I had, and there is no problem with the change. It is possible that Dunlopy would be a little better in the snow, but in winter very rarely ride in such conditions (in practice a few days, or not at all). We will definitely be better in transition. Passes are distributed fairly evenly to me during the year, even if they were also moments that other tires would be perhaps better, an average of a year, I believe that CrossClimate are much better. Well, no need to change, periodic balancing can do anytime, off-peak change tires;) Read more Collapse

Upon receipt of tires I had a feeling negative, ie. It seemed to me that they have about 1/3 less tread of a winter tire and 90% that was !!! After analyzing and assuming their first impression was disbelief when braking because braking coming out strange but pleasant sound in an open glass slightly audible. I realized quickly that the braking distance was shortened strongly, what this is going, I was able, even in the rain to enter in large puddles on summer attracted me and for those already well disperse water !!! As for durability I did not notice that the tread has declined - not pale gums can safely budge so but at the moment I can not say just anything wrong with the tire mega surprise first got approval winter - one thing is certain not regret your every dollar you spend. I have been a supporter of multigrade tires but now I appreciate their quality particularly those tires will not change to another !!! Read more Collapse

Tires on wet and dry well stick to the road. ABS responds very late, there is no question of breaking traction when accelerating, which on Fuldach EcoControl sometimes happened before. The tire also in like Conti PC2 persists and even surpasses them in case of noise and ride comfort. The tire is really very quiet and quite well suppressed inequality, despite the higher load index. At the moment it is difficult to assess traction on snow, when the winters are long. Combustion lower than the aforementioned Conti. When it comes to aesthetic experience, this tire is made very carefully and for this we still really nice tread. I do not know how to be with durability, but having contact with Michelin Energy Saver tires, I hope that CorssClimate not be in this respect much worse. I can honestly recommend tires, even as a typical summer, as well in this role very well. The usefulness of winter only need to be tested. Read more Collapse

Describes the use in the period from November to March. When I bought these tyres, a friend of tyre dealer who did not have them in their offer stated "see you in the ditch" :) and that was a mistake. Winter 2015/2016 just like last winter did not surprise the roadsters. Slight snow and light early morning, winter is not winter. The Michelin CrossClimate were perfect, my braking efforts in the snow were little different from braking on winter tyres. Hold on wet (rain) - Michelin CrossClimate are BRILIANT! On dry surfaces much better than on winter (and summer) tyres. Test in the hot summer I have not moved yet. When it comes to volume, these are my first directional tyres which are quieter than the summer asymmetric ones - they are really super quiet. And I do not have to exchange them summer / winter :) and eg in Germany no one will give me a mandate for the lack of winter tyres :) :) :) RECOMMENDED Read more Collapse

I bought Michelin CrossClimate because I had enough queues every season to the tyre fitter. I am driving around 700 km per month is no fun to have in a tyre specially for the season. I have been looking for such things for a long time in order to be good in the dry and the rain, as well as in the winter. Do not be fooled by the fact that the winters will cope in every situation. I had several cars and I tested a lot of tyres. Recently SAVA tyres summer and winter. In winter, after the snow, every winter tyre will travel perfectly. But always have to have imagination because without it no tyre will help. I have now changed the car and I do not regret the choice of Michelin CrossClimate. I recommend it to anyone who expects savings and comfort. It did not disappoint me with rains, sun, hail and icing down to -7 * C. We will see how it will be in snow and mud skid but I think I will be very happy. Read more Collapse

After driving 10 thousand km and in every weather condition: On dry it keeps up great and is very quiet, very good braking distance, ABS almost does not turn on. On the wet the same. On the snow a little slippery, but as there are no spines I forgive, without spikes it all slips. By the way, I drove on a dirt road with pretty deep snow, and to be honest, I was hoping I could bury myself. It turned out that the Michelin CrossClimate tyres gave me the advice of what I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a Michelin fan, but these tyres are great. With a clear conscience I recommend Michelin CrossClimate . In my life I have done many miles and tested different tyres, in the summer without any difference and on the bald ride but in winter it is important and CrossClimate here they are working. From the multi-season on which I drove - Hankook, Sailun, Michelin the latter are the best. Read more Collapse

I estimate novelty tire that is on the market since spring 2015 years. I rode on the nearly 5,000 thousand. km in urban conditions and after a municipal (50/50), in different weather conditions - hot summer, heavy rains (so that the water was on the highway). Tires hold the road well. The car runs confident. On the power of 108 hp and start to Picasso did not break out of the ground. Very well to the water and with a sharp braking in the water of 70 km / h (a lot of it was in the rain) gave advice. Car twitched. Going straight, no problems. As for the assessment of "3" behavior on snow and slush I can not write anything - because the winter was not yet. Tires judge very well. I do not regret the purchase. I always rode at summer and winter premium, and at Michelinach as such had weak sentence (mostly volume) - These tires are worth the money and worth recommending! Read more Collapse

Large annual mileage is determined to buy a good brand tires. In our geographical position it is reasonable to purchase two sets of tires: summer and winter. CrossClimate a novelty last fall, because of a slight concern about the use of winter I made this purchase. Intensive use winter allay my concerns about the performance of the tire. Perhaps the winter we have recently, are not the best training ground for tires universal but in such a good exercise. I wanted good tires as often to "deck" travel to five members. The youngest tester of winter. The last attempt for these tires will be a hot summer and high temperatures. I assume that three full seasons (summer and winter) fully compensate the purchase of these tires. PS Same tires are just a fraction of a safe and comfortable ride! I remember the suspension, brakes and tire pressure monitoring. Regards Read more Collapse

Hello, as for the multi-season tyres, I was determined to buy such, I read many reviews and mostly were not too interesting for this type of tyres, but I have to say my opinion and evaluation. I drove 3000 km on the tyres, on sunny days as well as rainy, winter has not yet passed so I do not assess . In high temperatures and sunny days at high speeds the tyres perform well, they do not differ from summer tyres of various companies that I have had so far. Rain and downpours, and here a pleasant positive surprise, the tyres performed well, even falling into large puddles, the car did not run away and did not lose direction, and at the time of purchase I was afraid of this. In summary, I recommend these tyres and I think that each user will be satisfied, You can complain about the price, but something for something and safety also counts. Read more Collapse

Michelin CrossClimate will close all fitting stations. There is no problem replacing summer and winter tyres, no problem with sudden frost, snow or early spring surprising drivers. Saving time and money at replacement, for another 5 years - because I'm going to ride so much I will save some 200 GBP on the tyres does not change. Michelin CrossClimate are solid tyres, when I bought, I had doubts whether it would work well in the snow, but it turned out to be great on the snow. In my heavy car with snow traction systems, I was riding just as well as on dry roads - I was not able to get the car into any slippage, only other road users were trying to get in trouble :) And seriously, I would totally recommend it solution. This is the first tire not a multi-season (these are weak) but summer with winter homologation, really worth it !!! Read more Collapse

I purchased the tyres in the early autumn of 2015. I have driven on them in all conditions. The tyre performs very well in both dry and wet conditions. The noise and braking length can be compared to those of a high class tyre/ In winter during snow and quite a lot of frost I put the car into a controlled skid to see how it behaves. The car is only front-wheel drive. When the tyre lost grip, it signalled well in advance to correct the trajectory. It performed very well in extreme conditions. When it comes to braking on snow, I compare it to a mid-range winter tyre. The appearance of the tyre will satisfy even the most discriminating. A perfectly successful all-season tyre. Remember that these tyres are designed for the whole year, so you don't have to change them. Read more Collapse

I purchased the tyres as soon as they came on the market. Both on dry and wet pavement revelation, compared to my previous tyres much harder to break grip, tested both on dry and wet asphalt. As all previous users, I am waiting for the first snow :) Recently I had an unpleasant situation, because I got stuck in a screw, the air started to flow out quite quickly, when I inflated in the evening the next day in the morning there was already a slipper and attention - you can easily get there without going crazy, whether to refill or to the vulcanization, the pressure was within 0.5 bar. I think this is due to the high load index (V). The car is not light either, as it is a first generation Mazda 6 estate. Best regards to all satisfied users :) Read more Collapse

These Michelin were my first investment in quality tyres and the payoff has been tremendous. I live in Ireland where I've had ample opportunity to assess the tyres in both wet and dry conditions and they have performed beautifully. There is a marked feeling of stability on the road over my previous tyres (Bridgestones), road handling markedly improved and, given the cross-over tread, a surprising improvement in road noise and roll resistance. I haven't had a chance to test them in snow conditions but bought them as I intend to travel to Andorra this winter. I also like the looks of them. Buying from OPONEO over local tyre shops saved me €25-32 per tyre, delivery was spot on. Highly recommend both the Michelin's and OPONEO. Read more Collapse

I have been thinking about buying this tyre for some time. I decided to take a chance (it's my first all-season tyre) and so far I am very satisfied. The first thing I noticed after switching is the low noise level inside - the tyres are quieter than the previous Dunlop summer tyres, which are also rated as quiet, but these are hardly audible at all. Secondly, low rolling resistance, resulting in fuel savings of 0.5-0.7 litres in the city. The slight downside is the slightly increased hardness due to the higher load index (94) in this size (225/45/17), but just lower the pressure by 0.1 bar and you're ok. I'm curious to see how it performs on snow in urban conditions - I haven't rated it in this aspect yet Read more Collapse

There wasn't much snow, so I took a chance. In summer they work like summer tyres. When the temperature drops you feel like you are in summer all the time. They don't lose properties below zero and they don't float when it's very warm. This applies to both dry and wet surfaces. Very quiet, as with Michelin. It is worse on snow, i.e. you feel that there is snow, but I did not experience any drastic difference compared to winter tyres. Even with 250 km of power, there are no problems with starting and turning. It's hard to say how fast they wear out, because you can't see it yet, but it's only been 10 thousand km on them. So far I recommend. No need to change tyres every six months Read more Collapse

I decided on the CrossClimate because I had just run out of two sets of tyres from the factory. I decided to take a risk and was persuaded to buy the CrossClimate because of its 3PMSF winter homologation, which no summer tyre had ever obtained. Its functionality fits my needs perfectly (city driving all year round without changing tyres). I am very curious how it will behave in winter, however, I am confident that I will also be satisfied in winter. The tyres perform better than the original-equipped Hankooks, with a fuel consumption of 7.4l/100 in the city, a noticeable difference in braking and driving comfort on wet and dry roads. Simply an all-weather tyre! Read more Collapse

The tyres were bought to save money, out of curiosity and because the winters here are poor. When it comes to dry or wet surfaces, I have no reservations, the tyres behave correctly. Many people complain about the noise level. My car is quite noisy from 120 km/h and maybe I can't hear it. When it comes to driving on snow, it is a total flop. The tyres should not bear the M+S marking at all. Starting uphill is a huge problem. On sharper bends, even at minimum speeds, the front end slips away. The tyres have no grip whatsoever on snow. But I have only had 3 snow days so far, which proves that buying these tyres was a good idea. Overall, I recommend them. Read more Collapse

I have been riding these tyres for six months now. So not long enough to tell you all the pros and cons. Comparing it to my previous Michelin tyres, which were already very worn. The car runs like a string. They are really very quiet and dampen bumps superbly. I wonder how the tyres will last, but so far I have not noticed anything like that. Driving comfort in winter is great. I have not noticed any difference to winter tyres. I am very satisfied with the tyres as a whole. I had a lot of apprehension before purchasing. Looking for opinions, which were divided. I found out myself that it is really worth buying them. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Read more Collapse

I took the risk of buying this new tyre and, overall, I have no regrets. I previously had Vredestein-quatrac 3 tyres and can compare them with the Michelins. In summer, of course. You'll have to wait for the winter. A quick summary: the only disadvantage of the tyre, and more so of my version, is the increased load index (there is no other version in my size), and unfortunately I can feel this on bumps. It is less comfortable. Too bad there is no 91 version in what is probably the most popular tyre size, 205/55R16. Otherwise very quiet, definitely better braking in the wet than previous Vredestein. Recommended, but as a non-high-capacity version. Read more Collapse

I bought the tyres encouraged by tests and the belief that changing tyres every year is a rip-off and an unnecessary expense and inconvenience in the USA they drive on one set all year round. Buses and trucks also run on the same tyres all year round. The tyres evaluated are my third multi-season tyres. Dry handling OK Wet handling SUPER + (these are the best tyres I have had for wet braking counting summer winter and multi-season) Snow and ice handling LOW. For snow and ice handling they are not suitable at all. All in all, for light winter conditions without snow and ice (i.e. city driving) superb. Not at all suitable for snow and ice. I made my purchase solely on the basis of the tyre tests I found on YT. I have been riding on it since yesterday so I cannot say much, although... The first impression is very positive, the tyre is quiet, well balanced (max 20 per side). On wet, in deep ruts (downpour), braking several times and not once did the abs not work - on previous, tired Continentals, it was much worse. With a load index of 94, the tyre does not seem harder, the ride is pleasant and safe. I would recommend it to any average car user. For high-powered, sporty cars, I would opt for seasonal tyres. In the Golf 1.6 these tyres are sensational! Read more Collapse

I made my purchase as soon as it was launched. On a dry road it drives very well, it is a very quiet tyre. In the wet it is very stable and holds the road. There is no aquaplaning effect when driving through puddles. When it comes to driving on snow, I think it is good, it does not slip like a summer tyre. I have been able to get out of every snowy spot without any problems, but if I apply too much throttle and brake on compacted snow, I can slip. I think it is a really good tyre. It is suitable for the current climate in the UK and for driving even in difficult conditions, but with common sense and a head. Read more Collapse

After two months of use I can say that these are the quietest tyres I have driven on so far. The Toyota Auris is not a very well damped car, and yet on these tyres no rolling noise can be heard. My fears that this comfort would come at the expense of tyre life were completely unfounded. After 2500 km, the tyres show no signs of wear whatsoever. The car's behaviour on dry and wet pavement is without the slightest reservation. I cannot give an opinion on how the car will perform on snow (mandatory survey field), so I gave an intermediate rating. I will share my opinion in due course. I sincerely recommend it. I was considering the purchase of 2 sets of tyres (summer and winter) or so-called multi-season tyres. The choice fell on Michelin - summer tyres with winter homologation, and I was not disappointed. The comfort of use, their maintenance-free character (no need for troublesome replacements every season), very good traction on wet and dry surfaces ensure a lot of fun with more dynamic driving. The downside is poor grip on loose snow, but once the slush hits, the tyre "remembers" what it was made for and its performance improves markedly. The attractive tread pattern arouses interest among friends. Read more Collapse

The tyres have so far surprised me with their grip on both dry and wet asphalt. When driving on hot days it sticks to the tarmac like a soft winter tyre, but braking is much better. When driving very dynamically, it is difficult for it to lose grip even a little, and in many corners I can allow more grip than I used to on other tyres. If it is as good in winter as it is in summer, it will definitely be the only tyre I will buy (I give it a 3 because I haven't tested it yet). The disadvantage could be wear and tear as I can already see a difference in mileage at low mileage. Read more Collapse

Tyres purchased in October 2015, a little noisier than good summer tyres but not a tragedy. In the wet and dry they perform well. When it comes to winter conditions it's a bit worse than on good winter tyres but with sensible driving the tyres can cope. This is a sensible purchase for people who drive mainly in the city. If the trend for mild winters continues, there is no point in buying two sets of tyres and paying to replace them. If you do a lot of touring, I would probably opt for two sets of tyres. I also don't know how the tyres will perform next winter. Read more Collapse

I jumped from Fulda. Very nice tyres, quiet, great bump selection. The fuel consumption has dropped by about a litre compared to the previous ones. My tyre size is 195/55R15, which is also shown on the tyre. Compared to other tyres (from other manufacturers), mine are narrower and higher, perfectly matching the 185/60 R15 of other manufacturers - I hope it's not a fake. *When rating the tyre on snow, there was no "I don't rate" option, I chose 5, but I haven't used the tyre in these conditions yet. The tyre has very high stability, grip on dry and rainy days, noise and rolling resistance are normal, i.e. almost imperceptible if you don't listen. No slipping effect in corners in wet conditions and at high speeds between 180 km/h - tested on a motorway in Germany. At the moment I recommend them as summer tyres.
