I bought the tyre by accident. I bought the vehicle with Bridgestone Turanza brand E30 tyres. After 30 000 miles they were heavily worn. and I decided to purchase a newer model of Bridgestone, the E300. One of BMW owners recommended this original Japanese product to me. Due to the fact that Mazda is a car made in Japan and not some kind of fake, I decided to buy these tyres. Now, my Mazda goes well in the corners equipped with Toyo Proxes T1-R with ZE index. The tyres are quiet, aquaplaning doesn't occur - DSC is a standard here, they wear slowly and have an interesting design, which emphasizes the design of the Mazda 3 MZBJK model. I bought these tyres at a good price, 75 pounds per tyre. I always drive with DSC system switched on so that the tyres have a longer life span. At 120 - 130 MPH the noise level is insignificant. I've been using them for one season so far (did about 12k miles) so I can say something about them. Great on dry, more than good in the rain. They are not very noisy, their look is also a great advantage. Tyres are relatively soft, there isn't too much discomfort even on such profile as 50. The route I drive is mostly German motorways, as well as several trips across the country (unfortunately, it is our roads where I sometime get into ruts). The only thing I can accuse them of is average grip on fast, sharp bends and quite fast wear-off (I change tires seasonally, for summer and for winter, so I can safely say that they will withstand even 2 seasons). I bought it in February 2008 for 45 pounds per tyre. Generally, a great tyre for a decent price - and I'm not going to look for anything else. Read more Collapse

I didn't do much on them, but thanks to their grip on dry I managed to avoid a serious collision (hard braking from 50 MPH) and my fuel consumption got reduced by ca. 15%. It's probably even better on wet, today I tried braking (like on dry!) and checked its resistance to aquaplaning (at test speed of 50 MPH is slashes through deep puddles like a razor). Stiff sidewalls grip cause the tyre to grip well. The car goes like on tracks, so far I haven't experienced a single side slide I had a wheelspin only once - when one wheel was on the tram track. The tyre is phenomenal! I did not expect that only tyres can give so much to the car and driver, because usually tyre retailers persuaded me to get a Debica or a Kormoran. No more. I also want to get some good tyres. :-) Read more Collapse

Directional tread pattern - some people don't like it and some buy it with pleasure, I personally like it as that' s what it was created for, the fringe protector is a useful thing, the appearance of the tyre is impressive. Grip in corners is quite good, I haven't got any problems. Rain? You can feel the water being drained to the sides. Comfort? Low profile and lowered suspension - no problems ;) The noise is insignificant, you can't hear anything even if you lean out of the window :) Unfortunately the wear-off is a great disadvantage, I did 3000 miles in the summer at a temperature of ca. 30 degrees and it can be clearly seen that the tyre wears off. If you drive calmly and don't rush in corners, maybe you manage to maintain it for three seasons. Read more Collapse

Very good lateral support. Driving through corners is a pleasure - you can lose a theoretically faster car. Driving through fast bends is exemplary, even with a fully loaded car. Even when I'm scared already, they only squeal slightly. On wet they're also fine, but I didn't check them in extreme situations. They're more than enough to drive fast. Comfort is not that good - I have 215/45/17, it's not revolutionary, but I don't go off the pavement too often. Wear-off is higher than normal, but that's the property of high-grip tyres. I think that the sensible estimation of their life span is 30 000 miles. If someone wants tyres for 90 000 miles, then they should look for more average parameters as no tyre is perfect. I had a choice of Pirelli PZero Nero, Goodyear Eagle F1 and Toyo Proxes T1-R. I chose Toyo mainly because of their great compound, which has incredible grip. What's most important, there is no noticeable drop in driving after changing to profile 45 from 55. Rubber compound is soft and perfectly absorbs any bumps - previously I used Kleber Dynaxer with profile 55 and it's hard to believe but lower profile Toyos offer the same comfort, if not better. I don't mention the performance because it's like comparing a Fiat 126 to a Bugatti. On wet they discharge water very well - even at higher speeds there's no aquaplaning. Highly recommendable, especially for users of cars with harder suspension. Read more Collapse

Design and parameters - sensational! In fact, I've had the opportunity to test them only for two months (3000 miles), but I'm very pleased. A few days ago I did a little trip across the country (600 miles). Like in our country, the sun is shining in one place and it rains heavily a few miles away. The tyre was superb in all those weather conditions. I had feared taking a turn at 110 MPH a bit, but my car was "stuck" to the ground like the trains is stuck to its rails. As you can see, my "train" didn't derail :) I won't describe various parameters, it can be clearly seen from my notes. Now I'll be changing my rear tyres - guess which one I'll choose? Obviously Toyo Proxes T1-R. Read more Collapse

Used on BMW 318D and Golf GT TDI with great results. Huge grip and although soft they do not seem to wear too badly, even with diesel torque and spirited driving. Good MPG for a low-profile tyre (48-53mpg). Very reassuring with predictable slide-point in the dry. Massive grip in the wet, but beware they shift so much water that spray can be a issue in the rear mirror. Also with an XL load rating they can increase the effect of choppy road surface and generate some noise, especially in vehicles with hard suspension (golf was much worse than BMW). Had 3 sets and loved them - worked hard to find another set. Think I paid about £130-140 per tyre incl. fitting, so good value too. Read more Collapse

Tyre is phenomenal. Designed for powerful, fast and good cars, where unstabilities, which are slightly felt in less powerful cars, here are reduced by the power of the car... I did an intensive 35 000 miles on them - mainly on expressways and motorways - the conditions are not very good at any of these types of roads, but the tyre performs surprisingly well ... The car has great grip - especially in the corners, it goes like a train on tracks, and does great even despite the fact that 400 BHP and lack of prudence on on my hand often results in skidding sideways... The tyre is highly recommendable and definitely better than more expensive and more competitive brands. Read more Collapse

As for me, the tyre's great and has quite an appearance and great handling characteristics - both on dry and wet it behaves great and doesn't lose grip. I didn't notice any excessive wear, the tyre is made very nicely there are not misshapings or pieces of rubber hanging on the sidewalls. it is very quiet. I definitely recommend, my previous tyres were 185/60R14 Continental ContiPremiumContacts they may have been a bit more quiet but it may be due to the fact that Toyo is 195 and not 185, they provided more comfortable driving but the profile was 60 and not 50. However, they had less grip on both wet and dry, as well as during rush starts. I generally recommend! Read more Collapse

Tyres attract attention and stir up envy thanks to their appearance. The fringe protector was helpful a week after the purchase - an unnoticeable part of the curb. During a sudden change of lane on German motorway at 110 MPH, I could feel the tyres "held" the car and thus prevented us from landing in a ditch - we just drove away, and the car didn't even skid. During heavy rain (a "torrent" on the street) at speed up to 50 MPH I didn't even feel that the car drives on water. On dry the car goes like on tracks. A sudden driving over a puddle of water doesn't cause the driver go nervous. Braking distance is much shorter than on my previous sports Silverstones. Read more Collapse

After fitting new tyres to front axle I almost got thrown out of the road at a fast corner (city ring road at speed ca. 150 km/h). They are completely different than the previous Michelins I had, I just didn't think that one can get used to a certain driving style. After a few weeks I was able to drive without any surprising situations. Due to lack of money, I used these tyres for the whole winter, driving in the city isn't a problem, but you can't go too fast - these tyres were better than cheapest winter ones. On wet there's a great impression of car going like on tracks. There tyres have a great quality-price ratio, you won't overpay for them. Read more Collapse

I recommend these tyres, as they do a great job, I bought it before the holidays, after 3500 miles they wore off by 2 mm. The compound is very quiet, it has great traction in corners, combined with my car's fine suspension. When I had my old tyres fitted, at 110 MPH at ca. 70 degree corner the car was behaving like it was about to swerve off the road (laws of physics, as we know), but on Toyo T1-R my car goes a lot better. It does great even with aggressive drifting. The compound is perfect - there is no squealing (loss of traction) and the car accelerates immediately, which is helpful in quarter mile racing. I recommend it to everyone! Read more Collapse

Quite good tyre, for sure in price - quality ratio: - good grip on the water, aquaplaning in a large puddle at speed over 60 MPH, but probably no tyre would go fine in such a puddle, or rather a "pond" at an uphill corner, where I had an opportunity to be, but at 50-55 MPH it regained traction and I was able to make thre turn without hitting the barriers - no squealing during dynamic starts In my opinion, at atemperature about 30 degrees and above the tyre starts to swerve and behave an a strange way, gets some sort of "working sidewalls", pressure change to 2,5 bar did not help - the best is 2.2. Apart from that, it's a fine tyre. Read more Collapse

I bought the car with Falken tyres on and they were worthless, they were so loud that I thought my bearings were shattering to pieces, their grip on wet was equal to zero - but they were a few years old. After reading some reviews I bought Toyos and the reviews appeared to be just. The tyres are great. First of all, it's very quiet in the car now, they have lots of grip on both dry and wet. It's not too soft and not too hard, like tailor-made for my car, although they may appear harder" if fitted to a lightweight car. Perfect ones for me. ESP rarely switches on, even with very aggressive driving style. I definiftely recommend! Read more Collapse

Really cool tyres, they do not squeal when rush starting, you can only hear a quiet swoosh :], Because they are made of soft rubber compound, they wear off quite quickly. The fact is that either they wear off quicklyand they are good or they don't wear off fast but they're useless! I chose the performance and I am very satisfied. On wet it's not so bad but one tyre will never be good in the rain and on dry pavement. At 110 MPH the tyres are not heard, you can only hear wind and exhaust sound. Generally speaking, I will definitely use them for a long time and so far I can't complain about anything! Read more Collapse

I bought these tyres last year, and I am satisfied. Previously I had Continentals and I must say that for me there is no difference in noise level and driving comfort. The differences I see are that the Toyos are better to run on dry, I have over 100 HP under the hood, and I have a problem with traction loss when starting or aggressive driving, but Toyos run on pavement like glued. In the wet at higher speeds I have a feeling that Continentals had better water drainage but it starts above 70 MPH in deep ruts but these are just my feelings. Overall, I recommend, as I am very pleased. Read more Collapse

The tyre looks nice, its deep tread indicates it can be used for very long time with preservation of its good properties (after one season they look as almost unused), comfortable, but unfortunately a little too soft and doesn't have too much grip in corners, grips the asphalt only averagely. Generally, it's surprisingly comfortable (for a sports tyre), but at the cost of low grip and handling. Very good on wet. I can compare it to Goodyear Eagle F1s I used earlier - Goodyears were much better in every aspect, but they wore off faster. I guess I go back to F1s. Read more Collapse

The tyre is great for drivers who like going faster than 30 MPH :-) I am not suggesting anything - you have to try on your own... and forget about other tyres. So far I haven't been disappointed with them on both wet and dry. I can't say anything about their behaviour on snow and ice, because I think that that such conditions are not for summer tyres! I've been using these tyres for three seasons now, not the same ones of course - I'm using the second set, and so far I haven't found an alternative for these tyres, so my next purchase will be the same. The tyres have quite decent grip when starting and braking, they "bend" a little when cornering, they're not bad on wet either, but unfortunately one tyre got damaged after quite aggressive driving (and I didn't hit a hole or a curb). The damage is not visible, but the car gets pulled to one side, sometimes it gets pulled to the other side after I switched tyres' positions, and there's no such thing after I changed the wheels to completely different ones. The tyres were even switched on the wheels, but the very same tyre always causes trouble. Read more Collapse

I have just purchased these tyres, in addition I paid only 160 pounds for a whole set, so that's why I'm satisfied, as the the tyre is made by a well-known manufacturer (many thanks to Japanese), and is well noted. This is not an ordinary tyre, It has the look, great usability and sports characteristics. Just don't be too fast and too furious (clear for experts :), The amount of radars is increasing, and the possibilities are larger and larger! In my case: Toyo T1-R for 160 per set + 36 months warranty = satisfaction. Read more Collapse

I changed to Toyos just to test them from Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. Very good tyre and cheaper than the previous one. Especially in the rain it wonderfully drains water to sideways while maintaining its traction (without the characteristic roar of water in the wheel arches and without aquaplaning), grips well in twisty corners. Grip in dry conditions is really good, but I have to take into account that my Mazda is a 4WD. I don't see signs of tread wear (only 1000 miles driven). I hope that they will keep doing well. I was attracted by opinions in the Internet and I don't regret. The tyres are great, behave sensationally when cornering. For me, they have two major advantages (apart from appearance) : they are soft, and hence greatly absorb all bump shocks (better than my previous winter tyres with a higher profile) and they carved in the water like a razor, just cut through a puddle. Due to the softness of the compound they're supposed to wear off a bit faster. I don't know it yet but generally I am satisfied with the purchase. Read more Collapse

Price is adequate to the quality. They are cheap but at the cost of something. They are good for 20000 miles with calm driving style. Their grip on dry, not worn and not heated surface is very good. They also do good on wet, but on heated surface they wear off terribly! You have to watch out, otherwise you can be surprised. I generally recommend them bacause of their low price but on the other hand I don't know if it's not better to spend some more money and get a tyre which has better grip on hot days. Tyres behave very well! To compare, I used Sava Intensa HP and Fulda tyres. Fuldas did quite well, and Savas were a tragedy! Toyo Proxes are really sensational when compared to them! Car starts fine, stops even better, not to mention about the grip when cornering. What surprised me the most was excellent water drainage when braking in wet conditions - it was literally like doing so on dry asphalt. Excellent tyres! I do not recommend purchasing Sava tyres as they are not suitable for driving. Read more Collapse

In the city I drive variously, mostly paecefully, but sometimes I have to rush. When I'm out of town I like to go hard in the corners. The tyre sticks like glue in dry conditions - I haven't used better ones in such, but they behave much worse on wet. They can lose their grip where other tyres were able to handle. They have a high tendency of aquaplaning. Doesn't wear off very quickly, but doesn't last long with dynamic driving style. Despite the low profile it absorbs bump shocks very well. Read more Collapse

In this price range it's really a great choice. On wet they behave well, on dry you have to try hard to make them skid or something. After 10000 miles their wear-off is at a very decent level. But we have to keep in mind that we need to change them before the first snow. I got "surprised" by winter, and although I've been using summer tyres on snow many times, this kind of tread would not let me drive up even at very low elevation of the garage, and two other cars did quite well on summers. Tyres grip well when driving aggressively on asphalt, although sidewalls are too soft in the corners, in the wet it is not bad, Unfortunately after 25 minutes spent on a professional race track one of the tyres got damaged, probably on the kerb, and now the car gets pulled to the side where they tyre's fitted. Overall - they are suitable for daily use in the city, but they should be kept away from race tracks. I used them for about 2 000 miles so generally i can rank them as "poor". Read more Collapse
Very good driving characteristics, the handling on dry and wet is very confident on these tyres, unfortunately the fact is that despite the distance I drove they wear off very quickly, but it is not strange. Very good traction, ETC switches on only when rush starting from high RPMs. Exemplary braking, the car doesn't swerve, but it's also affected by the condition of roads. I strongly recommend these tyres, not to mention the looks as it's very aggressive :) Read more Collapse

The car is glued to the road! The grip is great! On wet it grips the road nicely. A great advantage is its look and fringe protector. However, its noise level is quite high. The tread wear is too high with moderate driving. I've never made a wheelspin, but I take corners quite aggressively. Despite that, the tyre wore off about 3-4 mm during one season. I use winter tyres in winter, but this tyre can't be used in such conditions as it's not made for it. Read more Collapse

Really good tyres. I didn't expect that directional tyres can be so quiet. Also, their rolling resistance is minimal, the car rolls almost uniformly on neutral gear, even at higher speeds. Wonderful on dry, I can't properly note their behaviour on wet as I don't drive aggresively on wet. Their water drainage and braking distance are excellent. They are definitely worth recommending for such price, and they don't wear off so quickly like others say. Read more Collapse
I haven't driven much, but so far i think these are great tyres for a small price. They're very quiet, almost like glued to the road. On wet they behave like most tyres on dry. I can't rate it's wear-off yet (that's why I left a 3) and behavior on snow (or ice). However, I think they have igher rolling resistance in comparison with previous Michelins.Apart from that these are the best tyres for such money and there's no point in spending more. The tyres are fitted to the Civic EJ9 Saloon. I had a choice between Toyo and Barum Bravuris in the same size and similar price, and I'm glad that I chose Toyos. As for me, it's a very good tyre. I've never had a better tyre for rain, but on it also acts great on dry. Noise level is minimal unless we get onto a specific type of pavement. There's not much comment on... I bought them encouraged b y opinions of other users. They stick to the road very well, but the noise level, which, I have to admit, slightly decreased after driving several thousand miles is a failure. The tyre is terrible on wet. Great tyre. Very good grip on dry (it's hard to get the wheels spinning when starting) and wet surfaces. Also, it has a great design. It's hard for me to judge its wear-off, because I use in a very aggressive way, but I would say that it's normal, or slightly higher than normal. These tyres shouldn't be bought for its wear'off. The tyres are a tragedy! I bought them encouraged by the reviews but I got really disappointed. After a small run in the wet I was afraid to brake in order not to run into a slide.
