Dunlop Winter Sport 5

I am not a tyre specialist but I must admit that I felt a significant difference between my previous tyres (Continental Conti 850) and Dunlop Winter Sport 5. I purchased these tyres because they have really good reviews. I have very positive impressions and I would like to recommend them to everybody. My driving style is quite aggressive. I usually drive on non-urban roads, less frequently in a city or on a highway. The tyres provide an excellent grip. It feels like they were sticked to the road. It is really astonishing. They do their job even on ice and in deep snow and slush. Although their grip is superb the ABS system in my car had to operate from time to time but it is rather an obvious phenomenon in winter conditions. When the temperature goes down the tyres get even better and better. What is more, the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres are definitely quieter than my old ones. Wet and dry weather conditions are not an obstacle for them. I will stick with Dunlop from now and I will go for tyres from this manufacturer again in the nearest future. The tyres are good-looking. Driving a car on these Dunlops gives you a feeling of a confidence on the road. Despite the fact that they are pure winter tyres, they can be used as all-season ones. I think that in summer season they would behave as good as in winter one. In conclusion I can say only that the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres are one of the best money can buy in this size. I decided to purchase the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres quite a long time ago. They were not cheap but I took into consideration their overall performance, good reviews, nice labeling and therefore I decided to buy a set. The tyres provide a road safety and there is no more important thing when it comes to driving a car. I have done approximately 2000 miles in different weather conditions (wet roads, heavy rain, slush, snow and ice). I have a rich experience in driving (I am a driver for more than 34 years and I've done more than 1 million miles. My driving style is rather not an aggressive one. I have only one thing to say - the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres are superb and I do not regret buying them. I had Pirelli Sottozero winter tyres previously mounted on my vehicle and I had some problems with balancing and a wheel alignment. My Honda Accord was skidding in corners and I experienced some problems while driving in deeper snow. Now I have a sense of comfort in all conditions. Even in these most demanding. I tested these tyres in slush and on a wet road and my Honda sticks to the road. The noise level of the tyres is very low. They are really quiet. Driving is extremely comfortable on these tyres despite the fact that I have a hard suspension (typical of Honda). Concluding, the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres are worth their price. I cannot say a lot about the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres as I drove on them less than 3000 miles. I decided to purchase these tyres because my friend had them in his vehicle. I will rate them properly after some time but now it is too early. The tyres were exchanged very smoothly. They were properly balanced and now I keep testing them. I have noticed that they are astonishingly quiet and they provide an excellent grip on a dry road. You cannot hear them even at a high speed. They are not so good on ice but it is rather an obvious thing that there are no winter tyres dedicated to driving on ice. I think they are doing well in snow and slush. The Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres are one of the best value for money priced in mid-sixty range GBP per tyre fitted and balanced to wheels. I have read that Dunlop engineers put a significant effort to focus on aquaplaning performance and fuel efficiency. Thanks to that the tyres are lighter and more responsive in winter weather conditions. I was not sure but ultimately I decided to place an order for these tyres. I knew that the predecessor of this tyre had very good reviews so I thought that the fifth generation cannot be worse. I had some Continental tyres previously mounted on my vehicle. Generally speaking I was always a big fan of Continental tyres. To be honest I do not feel a significant difference in terms of quality between Dunlop Winter Sport 5 and my old Continentals. Both Continental and Dunlop are premium brands and they represent a top of quality. A great advantage of Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres is their astonishing grip. They are especially god in a rainy weather. I cannot rate them in terms of driving in snow and slush because I did not have an opportunity to test them in such conditions. It has to be mentioned that the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres behave very good in dry conditions. They provide comfortable driving. Even in sharp corners you still feel confident. Their grip is splendid. You can drive more aggressively and your car still drives where you want it to go. If I compare them to my previous tyres, I must admit that they are surprisingly quiet. Before I purchased a set of Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres I read some reviews. I was looking for new winter tyres for my BMW 5 series. I decided to buy Dunlop tyres and now I know it was a good decision. I am not disappointed. I have done approximately 3000 miles (including 500 miles in deep snow and on ice). I bought the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 tyres because I watched their promo videos. They were very convincing. I decided to find out if all what it was said about them is true. I wanted to test the tyres but there was not much of snow or mud in my area. On a dry road the tyres behave in an impeccable way. There is only one problem. The tyres are not balanced properly what I noticed after some time. I think it may be a mistake of my fitter. I will have to go to a different fitting station and get the tyres balanced again. Great tyres, low noise and doesnt let you down on any weather. Great on snow. But there is one issue woth them. They dont have great stiffness. Too soft for rear wheel drive car. Up to 60mph everything ok. Above it is unpleasant to drive. It looks like gliding left or right om motorway. Went to germany autoban and on higher speed it os worth. Looks like loosing handling. If you are looking for high performance tyres, you must go for the Dunlop Winter Sport 5. They are great on slippery surfaces. I use them in a car with an automatic transmission. In a rainy weather they keep traction. They are even better in slush. Furthermore, they are quiet. All round the service and speed of delivery was great. So far the tyres are great an a huge improvement on the Kumhos that were on before. Fitted in early October and used mainly in temperatures above 10 degrees c until a recent cold snap with snow when I got a chance to test them out, the Jag felt very secure in the light snow and slush (even uphill) only twitching when on patchy ice. Very impressed. Read more Collapse

I can honestly recommend tires. They allowed you to move freely in fresh snow, a ride on slush, or a fine snow powder blown on the road. The most important test, however, was the driveway to the garage hall on a steep sliding downhill - there was a really big positive surprise, many cars slipped and saw in place, and I climbed up on Dunlop tires calmly and slowly. Only one ignition of the control from the traction control throughout the winter, I consider it a big success and merit just tires :-) They give a sense of security in all conditions, and in the final analysis is probably the most important. I highly recommend this tire. At the beginning I wanted to say that I was shocked how nice the car is moving, my old tires had a different profile was smaller 17/45/225 and now 18/40/225 and a plus. A lot of people advised me against this exchange, but I put on my own and did not listen.
