Scale of scores: Highest lowest

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is a premium tyre that offers excellent performance specifications for even the most demanding of drivers. The model is designed for passenger cars, sports cars and sporty models with a high performance engine.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has an asymmetric, optimised tread pattern, which allows the driver to retain full control over the car, even at high speeds. This model is noted for its constant contact with the road surface and large contact surface, which means that drivers can enjoy the full performance specifications of cars fitted with high performance engines without worrying about a loss of control over the car. An additional benefit of these tyres is their innovative tread pattern, which prevents skidding on wet roads. Effective water dispersal from the tyre surface significantly reduces the risk of aquaplaning. These solutions mean that the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 ensures a safe and reliable driving experience in any conditions.

An additional bonus of this model are the improvements in terms of acoustic comfort when driving. The tyre is made using an advanced rubber compound, which effectively reduces braking distances and braking times. This is another benefit of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, which allows drivers to simultaneously enjoy a fast, dynamic style of driving, as well as safe, efficient braking when required. Thanks to their design, these tyres are also durable and help reduce fuel consumption.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is not only a premium tyre, but also a practical solution that guarantees a long service life, whilst retaining high performance specifications and ensuring significant fuel savings. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has been used in NASCAR and Formuła 1 races, which is proof of its innovative technology and highlights the features and parameters that have earned the trust of drivers.

Goodyear

In 1839 Charles Goodyear developed his rubber production technology. Five years later he also patented the rubber vulcanisation method. He died in 1860, but Frank Seiberling wanted his memory to live on so he named the company after him when it was set up in 1898. Goodyear also produced various rubber materials alongside its tyres. It is interesting to note that the company has been associated with motor sports almost from its very beginning. Competitors have won many titles in various different competitions using Goodyear tyres. The American Goodyear group currently owns brands including: Dębica, Sava, Fulda and Dunlop.

Another set of Goodyear tyres and another decision to buy Eagle F1. Almost from the beginning I bought Eagle F1 tyres only from this series, but before I had cars with 140-220 HP. This time I originally wanted to buy another brand of tyre because of the 420bhp under the bonnet, but after reviewing the car's performance and other people's opinions, I decided on the Eagle F1. I am convinced that this time it was the right choice as well. These tyres are simply a revelation. First and foremost, my priority is safety in the broad sense of the word when driving fast, i.e. "sticking" the tyre to the asphalt, both when braking and starting. But here many tyres are similar, and the Eagle F1 shows its "claws" only when entering fast corners, especially in the wet, by not even the slightest slip. To paraphrase a saying - straight roads are for fast cars, curvy roads are for Goodyear tyres. The grip is simply excellent. I would also recommend the tyre for normal day-to-day driving, it does a great job of absorbing the bumps that abound in Poland and the protective rim allows you to park safely right up to the kerb. Tyres fitted to a BMW 530 d 193 km, 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. Drivers who read these reviews are mostly looking to save money by wondering if it's worth buying premium tyres or a mid-range with similar performance. Well, it is worth buying these tyres.... but.... BUT due to rapid wear I do not recommend them for people who want to show a friend nice tyres, because after two seasons of about 40 thousand wear is significant. Generally speaking, the tyres hold well in corners. Braking in the dry I don't rate because even the budget class has decent performance. In the wet the tyres are excellent. Despite the wide width, float is felt to some extent for sure, but I don't know of any scale in which to describe it. Riding with children; safety is a priority for me and a few hundred more for a set is no expense at all in case of emergencies, emergency braking etc, because that's how you have to look at it for such extreme situations which happen relatively rarely, but still.... they do happen and then what? those few metres of shorter braking distance make a colossal difference AMEN Read more Collapse

These tyres work extremely well on the Fiat Bravo II. As for the noise of these tyres, they are very quiet, practically inaudible regardless of the driving speed, it feels like the car is gliding a few cm above the ground and not rolling on the asphalt. Grip under braking and in corners, with normal and slightly dynamic driving, is excellent. Rolling resistance is low, the car moves easily on even a slight incline. These tyres do not generate higher fuel consumption, on the road with the weakest engine went down to 5L/100 km. They pick up bumps nicely and let you feel what is happening between the tyre and the tarmac. When driving in heavy rain, they shed water very well, which is audible (water hitting the wheel arches). These may not be cheap tyres, but it makes sense to invest in them if you expect a high level of driving comfort and driving confidence. Read more Collapse

Due to the rather low profile I wanted to buy a reinforced model, I was advised against this by the seller due to the fact that I was buying a model with a higher load index. I don't know what it would be like with reinforced tyres but the fact is that within three months of last season 2 front tyres were damaged. One time a pothole, the other a deeper one - in both cases the same thing - a bump (damaged sidewall) on the tyre, which means the tyre was trashed. In both cases the impact was not strong enough to damage the aluminium rim. In 3 months 2 x 450 PLN went down the drain. + replacement costs. The tyres had no more than a few thousand km. Before that I put on winter tyres and it was quiet until spring. Now I need to buy something more solid for the front. Read more Collapse

Hello, after reading some positive reviews I decided to buy these tyres. I drove about 8k km on them during the summer season. After the winter season, I wanted to put them back on, but to my surprise 3 tyres out of 4 were cracked on the sidewall of the tyre. The cracks were continuous over min. 1/4 of the circumference. Of course I complained about these tyres and GoodYear confirmed the tyre defect. They decided to replace ... only 3 tyres. The 4th tyre had no cracks and they refused to replace it despite the same serial number. As I have no intention of testing the validity of this decision on myself and see if it will burst or not, I had to purchase a new tyre. The level of service at GoodYear is simply pathetic. I've had these on a few cars since thier launch and have been great on all, in all conditions. Yes there are slighty better road holding tyres but last half the life, yes there are slighty better wet condition tyres but last half the life. There are longer life tyres but don't expect to stay on the black stuff too long of you push hard ! These are the best all round tyre I've come accross for years, really rate them and will use them until something better comes along, if something better comes along ! The only other tyre that is as good as this especially considering price (not the most important factor by a long mile in my opinion) is the Vredistien Vorti Sessenta, I'd have those if the F1s were'nt available. The tyres grip very well in the corners and on wet, unfortunately, they wear off very quickly (they probably have a soft compound). Unfortunately, out of four new tyres, despite relatively high profile, I managed to damage two at different times (I bought another two, and there already was "Made in China" pressed out) - the fault was a popping bulge on the sidewall of the tyre, so called damaged wires on the sidewall - probably because of the condition of our roads, but I didn't have this problem with other tyres, that's why I write about it. Generally I can recommend them, but not to people who want to save money, but rather to those who change tyres often and can afford it Read more Collapse

This is 2nd time I have purchased these tyres but the 1st time for my Astra. The 1st set I bought was for my previous car which was a Civic 2 door Type S. (17 inch) On the Civic, they were the only tyres I ever had which were any good in the dry and the wet. All the other tyres I tried were rubbish in comparison and compromised in one way or another. I bought the same tyres for the Astra on the strength of how good they were on the Civic. I am not disappointed. I've had them on for 14K km and they have been great all round especially in the wet. In the dry the car handles like it is on rails. Next time I need tyres I will be replacing them with the same Goodyear tyres. Read more Collapse

Quiet, good handling, excellent braking in the dry. In comparison with Yokohama Advan Sport it is a revelation, I do not know how the durability is, because the mileage is too low, but I do not recommend Yokohama, I have large wheels up to 18" and the last tyres at about 20,000 made a terrible noise due to chaffing, earlier Brigstons Potenza also chaffed, but only after about 30 thousand and they were factory tyres, so supposedly with a smaller tread. In general, I noticed that the larger and more expensive tyres are, the durability is not satisfactory, far from the mileages of 50...60 thousand as I did on 15" wheels. So far I RECOMMEND GoodYear Read more Collapse

Very good tyre, only noisy on uneven jumbo surfaces. Very low rolling resistance. Could be softer and better dampen bumps but such a profile has its limitations. I haven't caught any aquaplaning on the water yet and it rained a couple of times, so it works well. The tyre is definitely very durable. The last time I hit a 10cm kerb at 50km/h, near the edge of the road. Both wheels went over. I was afraid of a bent rim and damaged tyres and here the FR rim protects the rims and there is no trace on the tyre :-) So far I can't see any significant signs of wear with a moderate driving style. I fitted new ones (235/45 R18 XL 98V) in April 2014, it's now the end of August 2014 and after less than 15tys km the tyres are due for replacement - especially the rear due to wear and severe teething. Overall the tyre is quiet, brakes well and behaves in the wet but is very imprecise to drive. After fitting it, I went to the dealer 3 times to see if anything was wrong with the steering and everything was OK and I was furious because the car (S-Max 240hp) drove like a Renault Laguna! The previous tyres were Continental ContiSport and they lasted 2x the distance and the handling was exemplary. Read more Collapse

I changed the tyres from Michelin also in the same size. They were immediately tested during a holiday trip to Croatia (over 3,000 km). Superb grip in really heavy rain with the car fully loaded. Not to mention dry driving. I have driven well over 10,000 km and there is no wear - obviously with a moderate driving style. However, during dynamic driving on the motorway as well as on mountain serpentines, the tyres are superb in keeping to the specified direction. I honestly recommend these tyres. I bought them on oponeo at an interesting promotional price and I do not regret the money I spent. Read more Collapse

After spending hours researching various tyres suitable for my Ford Kuga I finally opted for these goodyear tyres. Yes there are other cheaper brands out there but after reading various reviews I decided to go for these ones. I am not disappointed as they are the same as what the car came with from new. This is the 2nd time I have had to change the tyres in 6 years so if these ones give me the same durability as the originals it will be a wise choice. Not forgrtting to mention the brilliant service I received from Oponeo. Well done keep up the good work. Read more Collapse

After buying the tyres, I had to complain about them. Two of them were faulty. The whole car was shaking while driving. The manufacturer accepted the complaint and replaced the tyres with new ones. Since then they have been excellent to drive on. They are much quieter than the Hankook Prime, because I had them before, also new, but in the size 215/55/16. Good lateral grip, excellent on wet and dry pavement. The car handles confidently at high speeds. Despite initial complaints, I would recommend this tyre. Oponeo handled the complaint superbly. Read more Collapse

The tyres are quite wide and I bought them with some concern that aquaplaning would be very common in the wet. However, I must say that they work very well and the car drives almost without any difference. Yes, you can feel it when you drive into a puddle, but it is not very nervous. In general, the tyre is very quiet, but you can hear it rumble when driving over bumps in the road. Despite this minor inconvenience, it is highly recommended. I recommend it for fast and dynamic driving, not only on straight roads but also in curves. Read more Collapse

Very good performance in wet condition! I'm impressed! The car it is stopping even better in wet than dry! Quiet in speeds, even above 100m/h(in Germany). I've done 13K miles and the thread looks very good(about 5mm). For England rainy weather there are fine. Only one downside is the side boards. There are too soft. It is not for poor roads with potholes. During my holiday abroad I hit a pothole and made a side bump on one of the tyres. I had to change it. I've never did that with my previous tyres. Overall very good tyres. Read more Collapse

Excellent on both acceleration and braking. Very good in the wet. I was able to enter bends much faster than on my previous continental contisport 3. Very predictable tyres, easy to feel when the car loses grip in a bend by slightly slipping. The sidewalls are soft so they are quite comfortable, but this does not cause any negative feelings when cornering. Rolling resistance and noise are not important to me, so I will not write anything about them. I would definitely recommend these tyres. Read more Collapse

The tyres are worth their price (although it is obvious that they could be cheaper ;) ), both in the dry and in the wet they behave very well. Driving is a pleasure - full control over the car. Braking is great, even the harder one in the wet, durability is also surprisingly good (15 thousand km) in comparison with e.g. Dunlop Sport Maxx much better ;) Driving style quite dynamic ;) After testing several leading brands, for now I'm sticking with Goodyear, both for summer and winter use ;) Read more Collapse

I bought these tyres because they were the best premium tyre I could afford. They suit my driving style well and appear to be wearing well too. I like their tread pattern and the rim protector feature, although won't protect from kerbing to your alloys, have not shredded when doing so. I bought a set of 4, they were all new, obviously but 2 of the set were manufactured nearly 2 years before they were delivered to me, the customer. I'd still strongly recommend them. Highly recommended tyre. Excellent price/performance ratio. Excellent on wet pavement, at least very good on dry (but this is also a result of high power and torque transferred to the front axle and, of course, my driving style, which is not calm). Low rolling resistance has a noticeable effect on fuel consumption - a drop by about 5-10%. Very quiet. As for durability, it is difficult to say after a few thousand kilometres. Overall - a great product! I recommend. Read more Collapse

Driving in Ireland on you-know-what-quality roads, so tires wear out much quicker than anywhere else. Previously I had dunlop and then moved to cheaper brands. None of them got me more than 20k km. Car drives like train. - excellent grip on dry, pretty ok on wet. I haven't had any failures. I did +40k km and there's still 1-2 mm of the thread left. Best tires I ever had, excellent value for money. Will be buying them again from oponeo as they offer the best price. Read more Collapse

I am not a great tyre specialist. I can, however, evaluate the buying process. It was a revelation. Despite some minor problems - the chosen workshop was unable to replace the 17" tyres - the oponeo service did an excellent job. They kept in touch with me, pointed out another service and did everything for me. What is important for me is the friendly service. It was my first online purchase and I am very impressed. I will definitely use it again in the future. Read more Collapse

I've used these tyres on several vehicles. Each time a vehicle is supplied with a different brand I've yet to be impressed with the performance of the original tyres, I usually change to Goodyear F1's at the earliest opportunity and their performance is always a noticeably improvement. I have used these tyres since they originally came onto the market and each version has been an evolutionary improvement, always one step ahead of the competition. Read more Collapse

Only complaint is the cost but shopping around can save plenty to make it tremendous value for money Back wheels are 275 35 18 and front 245 40 18 Superb tyres as have tried most of the top ones such as Continental, Dunlop, Michelin etc! I've been using these tyres since May 2011 and already did about 20 thousand miles. I have a car with permanent 4-wheel-drive and 255 HP. In heavy rain the tyres behave very well, they're stable, provide great grip in corners and during braking. Previously, I used Continental ContiSportContact 3s and I can see the difference in favor of Goodyear tyres when it comes to behaviour on wet. Handling on dry is also very good and precise. I have done more than 30 thousand on the tyres and I can say that they are ok, reliable hold, in the wet everything under control, to abrasion 3 and the front within 4 mm, so you can say that they are durable for a car with a lot of torque. profile 40 too much does not give a feeling of comfort, but so it must be, when you sit low to the ground is something for something. I am not a car enthusiast. I was simply looking for good tyres at a good price. I have to say that these tyres are highly recommendable. I drive quite agilely and dynamically. The tread is practically intact after a few thousand kilometres. You can't hear the tyres (in the sense that you don't notice any noise while driving) even when driving fast - more than 150 km/h. If I were to buy tyres again, I would choose these. Read more Collapse

So far I have done about 3,000 km on these tyres. Mainly on the road. Good road holding, very nice in corners. A little noisy, but for me it is a matter of tyre width (245 does its job). The fuel consumption has not increased so I rate it good. In general, I recommend it if you want brand-name tyres at a reasonable price.ed so well judge. Great tyres, very good performance on wet as well as dry roads. At highway speeds the car behaves very confident and stable. Good damping of bumps, noise level also at an acceptable level - a journey of over 1200 km on the motorway is not tiring with noise and rolling sound. On wet also excellent traction, great predictability of driving even in heavy rain and at higher speeds. A product worth recommending in 100%! Read more Collapse

Nice ride compared to the Original Bridgestone Run Flats that came with the car. Road noise is very noticeable compared to the Bridgestones though. I had to check to make sure they were put on the right way but seems that the F1's are not directional tyres. Cornering is good but sometimes I didn't feel confident at speed on roundabouts. Absolutely no grip in snow. They F1's seem to be wearing well. Read more Collapse

The price of the tyres is first and foremost affordable. The appearance is also good, and the rim protection is also useful. As for the noise, it's really great, and most importantly excellent road holding. On a wet road a little less grip but still satisfactory, especially with my heavy leg :). I would definitely recommend:) Read more Collapse

Wcześniej używałem opon Michelin Pilot Exalto (zbyt szybkie zużycie bieżnika i hałas) następnie Goodyear Excellence (brak wad) i Pirelli P Zero Nero. Z przyjemnością wróciłem do Goodyeara, dedydując się na Eagle 2. Świetna opona, cicha i póki co nie zauważyłem nadmiernej ścieralności. Auto bardzo pewnie się prowadzi. Polecam! Read more Collapse
