Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

Another set of Goodyear tyres and another decision to buy Eagle F1. Almost from the beginning I bought Eagle F1 tyres only from this series, but before I had cars with 140-220 HP. This time I originally wanted to buy another brand of tyre because of the 420bhp under the bonnet, but after reviewing the car's performance and other people's opinions, I decided on the Eagle F1. I am convinced that this time it was the right choice as well. These tyres are simply a revelation. First and foremost, my priority is safety in the broad sense of the word when driving fast, i.e. "sticking" the tyre to the asphalt, both when braking and starting. But here many tyres are similar, and the Eagle F1 shows its "claws" only when entering fast corners, especially in the wet, by not even the slightest slip. To paraphrase a saying - straight roads are for fast cars, curvy roads are for Goodyear tyres. The grip is simply excellent. I would also recommend the tyre for normal day-to-day driving, it does a great job of absorbing the bumps that abound in Poland and the protective rim allows you to park safely right up to the kerb. I've had these on a few cars since thier launch and have been great on all, in all conditions. Yes there are slighty better road holding tyres but last half the life, yes there are slighty better wet condition tyres but last half the life. There are longer life tyres but don't expect to stay on the black stuff too long of you push hard ! These are the best all round tyre I've come accross for years, really rate them and will use them until something better comes along, if something better comes along ! The only other tyre that is as good as this especially considering price (not the most important factor by a long mile in my opinion) is the Vredistien Vorti Sessenta, I'd have those if the F1s were'nt available. This is 2nd time I have purchased these tyres but the 1st time for my Astra. The 1st set I bought was for my previous car which was a Civic 2 door Type S. (17 inch) On the Civic, they were the only tyres I ever had which were any good in the dry and the wet. All the other tyres I tried were rubbish in comparison and compromised in one way or another. I bought the same tyres for the Astra on the strength of how good they were on the Civic. I am not disappointed. I've had them on for 14K km and they have been great all round especially in the wet. Quiet, good handling, excellent braking in the dry. In comparison with Yokohama Advan Sport it is a revelation, I do not know how the durability is, because the mileage is too low, but I do not recommend Yokohama, I have large wheels up to 18" and the last tyres at about 20,000 made a terrible noise due to chaffing, earlier Brigstons Potenza also chaffed, but only after about 30 thousand and they were factory tyres, so supposedly with a smaller tread. In general, I noticed that the larger and more expensive tyres are, the durability is not satisfactory, far from the mileages of 50...60 thousand as I did on 15" wheels. Very good tyre, only noisy on uneven jumbo surfaces. Very low rolling resistance. Could be softer and better dampen bumps but such a profile has its limitations. I haven't caught any aquaplaning on the water yet and it rained a couple of times, so it works well. The tyre is definitely very durable. The last time I hit a 10cm kerb at 50km/h, near the edge of the road. Both wheels went over. I was afraid of a bent rim and damaged tyres and here the FR rim protects the rims and there is no trace on the tyre :-) So far I can't see any significant signs of wear with a moderate driving style. I changed the tyres from Michelin also in the same size. They were immediately tested during a holiday trip to Croatia (over 3,000 km). Superb grip in really heavy rain with the car fully loaded. Not to mention dry driving. I have driven well over 10,000 km and there is no wear - obviously with a moderate driving style. However, during dynamic driving on the motorway as well as on mountain serpentines, the tyres are superb in keeping to the specified direction. I honestly recommend these tyres. After spending hours researching various tyres suitable for my Ford Kuga I finally opted for these goodyear tyres. Yes there are other cheaper brands out there but after reading various reviews I decided to go for these ones. I am not disappointed as they are the same as what the car came with from new. This is the 2nd time I have had to change the tyres in 6 years so if these ones give me the same durability as the originals it will be a wise choice. After buying the tyres, I had to complain about them. Two of them were faulty. The whole car was shaking while driving. The manufacturer accepted the complaint and replaced the tyres with new ones. Since then they have been excellent to drive on. They are much quieter than the Hankook Prime, because I had them before, also new, but in the size 215/55/16. Good lateral grip, excellent on wet and dry pavement. The car handles confidently at high speeds. Despite initial complaints, I would recommend this tyre. Oponeo handled the complaint superbly. The tyres are quite wide and I bought them with some concern that aquaplaning would be very common in the wet. However, I must say that they work very well and the car drives almost without any difference. Yes, you can feel it when you drive into a puddle, but it is not very nervous. In general, the tyre is very quiet, but you can hear it rumble when driving over bumps in the road. Despite this minor inconvenience, it is highly recommended. Very good performance in wet condition! I'm impressed! The car it is stopping even better in wet than dry! Quiet in speeds, even above 100m/h(in Germany). I've done 13K miles and the thread looks very good(about 5mm). For England rainy weather there are fine. Only one downside is the side boards. There are too soft. It is not for poor roads with potholes. During my holiday abroad I hit a pothole and made a side bump on one of the tyres. I had to change it. I've never did that with my previous tyres. The tyres are worth their price (although it is obvious that they could be cheaper ;) ), both in the dry and in the wet they behave very well. Driving is a pleasure - full control over the car. Braking is great, even the harder one in the wet, durability is also surprisingly good (15 thousand km) in comparison with e.g. Dunlop Sport Maxx much better ;) Driving style quite dynamic ;) After testing several leading brands, for now I'm sticking with Goodyear, both for summer and winter use ;) Read more Collapse

I bought these tyres because they were the best premium tyre I could afford. They suit my driving style well and appear to be wearing well too. I like their tread pattern and the rim protector feature, although won't protect from kerbing to your alloys, have not shredded when doing so. I bought a set of 4, they were all new, obviously but 2 of the set were manufactured nearly 2 years before they were delivered to me, the customer. I'd still strongly recommend them. Highly recommended tyre. Excellent price/performance ratio. Excellent on wet pavement, at least very good on dry (but this is also a result of high power and torque transferred to the front axle and, of course, my driving style, which is not calm). Low rolling resistance has a noticeable effect on fuel consumption - a drop by about 5-10%. Very quiet. As for durability, it is difficult to say after a few thousand kilometres. I am not a great tyre specialist. I can, however, evaluate the buying process. It was a revelation. Despite some minor problems - the chosen workshop was unable to replace the 17" tyres - the oponeo service did an excellent job. They kept in touch with me, pointed out another service and did everything for me. What is important for me is the friendly service. It was my first online purchase and I am very impressed. I've used these tyres on several vehicles. Each time a vehicle is supplied with a different brand I've yet to be impressed with the performance of the original tyres, I usually change to Goodyear F1's at the earliest opportunity and their performance is always a noticeably improvement. I have tried many makes of tyre,but from now on i'm going to use these.Driving a car with over 550hp is no joke with crap tyres.these have astonishing grip in the wet,no aqua planing at speed and just as good in the dry.I've also found them to last longer than any other makes.Was using a set a year of other makes but these are half worn.Would and have recommended these goodyears to others and also Oponeo for such a good deal and delivery times Read more Collapse

I am not a car enthusiast. I was simply looking for good tyres at a good price. I have to say that these tyres are highly recommendable. I drive quite agilely and dynamically. The tread is practically intact after a few thousand kilometres. You can't hear the tyres (in the sense that you don't notice any noise while driving) even when driving fast - more than 150 km/h. So far I have done about 3,000 km on these tyres. Mainly on the road. Good road holding, very nice in corners. A little noisy, but for me it is a matter of tyre width (245 does its job). The fuel consumption has not increased so I rate it good. In general, I recommend it if you want brand-name tyres at a reasonable price.ed so well judge. Great tyres, very good performance on wet as well as dry roads. At highway speeds the car behaves very confident and stable. Good damping of bumps, noise level also at an acceptable level - a journey of over 1200 km on the motorway is not tiring with noise and rolling sound. Nice ride compared to the Original Bridgestone Run Flats that came with the car. Road noise is very noticeable compared to the Bridgestones though. I had to check to make sure they were put on the right way but seems that the F1's are not directional tyres. Cornering is good but sometimes I didn't feel confident at speed on roundabouts. At first I was disappointed with the noise, but this diminished after a while (although they are not quiet, and the width of the 215 probably also influences this). When it comes to grip, which is the most important thing about tyres, I have no reservations. I have driven with the tyres up to 4000 times in Germany and Poland and I can't tell the difference whether it's wet or dry. The tyres work brilliantly. In bends it does not throw off the track and on roundabouts it handles just like on dry pavement. The last tyre I had was a 2 year old japanese tyre and I would not recommend it to anyone. Very solid tyre. After changing the tyres in spring, I was a little scared of their hardness and noise level (previously I used 205/55R16), but they repaid in several emergency situations. They significantly improved driveability of my car: reduced body bends in corners and reduced braking distance. Superb behaviour on wet. Personally, I think it was a succesful and worthy purchase. Very good quality tyres. The car is comfortable to drive and behaves confidently on dry and wet surfaces. Tyre wear after almost 8 000 km is really low. Great tyres, suitable for normal driving in the city as well as on the motorway at "German" speeds, additionally they hold well in corners, so you can have fun on side roads. Very good tyre. I previously had Dunlop SportMaxxGT Run on Flat in the same size, which unfortunately suffered from teething. I do not have this problem with the Goodyears. The tyres grip the road very well, I don't get into "mini-slips" on ruts, which unfortunately was a big problem with my previous tyres (probably because they were much harder). Read more Collapse

Although the load rating for my vehicle is 101, after checking with Mercedes (I don't carry passengers very often and carry heavy loads less often) I opted for the 97 load rating at a significantly cheaper price. Haven't regretted my decision. Also a far better alternative to the Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres I have had for the previous 7 years. Read more Collapse

Bought about 1 year ago, covered about 18,000 km with a very sporty driving style, the consumption is extraordinary on dry roads, they have good grip even when put on the string, a little less on wet roads, which are not always flawless, but for the cost they are really good and I would recommend them to everyone who has a mid-size car. I HAVE TESTED MICHELIN PILOT SPORT3, DUNLOP SP1, CONTINENTAL 5 AND ALL OF THEM HAD SOME DISADVANTAGES AND THESE TYRES GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASSYMETRIC ARE REALLY AWESOME EVEN IN WINTER THEY GRIP THE ROAD VERY WELL BUT OF COURSE YOU NEED TO DEFLATE. The price of the tyres is first and foremost affordable. The appearance is also good, and the rim protection is also useful. Wcześniej używałem opon Michelin Pilot Exalto (zbyt szybkie zużycie bieżnika i hałas) następnie Goodyear Excellence (brak wad) i Pirelli P Zero Nero. Tyres are fitted to a BMW E46 318i (143 HP) and I have to say that they do a great job despite the not so powerful car. So far is I didn't her any squeals of tyres when entering a sharp corner of rush starting. With open windows light humming can be heard but it isn't disruptive. Car grips to the road very well. verall a very good tyre. More than 15,000 km driven - minimal wear (maybe 1-1.5 mm). Very low rolling resistance - definitely noticeable. I bought a car with cheap tyres fitted. After 1 year one of the rear tyre started to step up causing noise and vibrations. I always buy Good year tyres so I invested this time again. Grip is massive, minimum noise, on the wet tyres are brilliant too. Will buy another 2 in the near future to replace last 2 old ones. Read more Collapse

I decided on tyres due to my 'lack of love' for run flat solutions. The choice in sizes 245/45/19 front and 275/40/19 rear is severely limited. The tyres are certainly soft and damping well. These are the best tires I got on the Civic. I recommend them to everyone with a Civic. The Civic journey can be very tedious because of its nature jiggly / closes but the tires certainly made it easier to live. I would definitely buy again. The tyres are excellent on both dry and wet surfaces. Despite their low profile, they absorb bumps well while maintaining good grip. Low noise level - no noise. Reliable handling on both dry and wet roads, excellent cornering grip at higher speeds, low rolling resistance helps reduce consumption. Great tyres for all conditions. I was afraid they would be hard (additionally with reinforced rim), especially as my Civic VIII has a suspension with little comfort. A few words about this tyre. Lateral hold in corners - firm, predictable. Very good comfort - especially important with the 45 profile, the tyre does not "float". Very good tyre for the s2000. Also I got these tyres with the XL side wall. To be honest I can't see or feel any difference with my last set of eagle F1's. Still thou I'm very happy over all. Mileage isn't bad for a rwd. Braking wise these do stop up quickly and give confidence on wet roads. Read more Collapse

I chose my tyres on the basis of the letters and dB on the sticker, as well as the look, price and prestige of the brand. And it was a very good choice. The tyre is indeed quiet and has superb grip. My car weighs over 1600 kg and on these tyres (235/45R17) it drives superbly. Read more Collapse

The tyres pass the test in terms of braking, aquaplaning etc but the noise is very annoying. Technically they are as good as the Continentals Conti sport contact 3 or 5, but the Continentals are more comfortable and do not make so much noise, which becomes a nuisance Read more Collapse

Very Good dry weather performance. Good wet weather performance. Not as noisy as previous continental contact sport 5's. Not good at getting the power down from a standing start. Lots of wheelspin when taking off. Especially in the wet. Car is a standard VW Mk5 GTI. Read more Collapse

I use these tyres on 2 BMW's and truly impressed with them. I bought these 4 months ago and have had no issues on my 5 series. I have a set on a 3 series that have been on for 3 years and 20k miles and they still look like new. Would highly reccommend these tyres Read more Collapse

I did almost 30k, swaped front and back just before 20k. quality very good, oponeo service just perfect, only a bit into harsh ride for me, got sport suspension also, i woul have preffered softer ones; in a word nothing bad about this tyres. i will reccomend. Read more Collapse

For the last 2 years I have used the standard Bridgestone Potenza tyres. The goodyears are excellent in the dry and very good in the wet and are quieter than the bridge stones. I am delighted with these tyres. 80% of my driving is long motorway driving. Read more Collapse

The tyres are average, nothing to complain about apart from the fact that they are too expensive for such properties and that the tyre wobbles (floats) noticeably, more so than the potenza. Nice that it has a rim protection flange, which comes in handy. Read more Collapse
