Size 165/60 R15

When buying tyres for your vehicle, it is important that you know what the individual numbers in the size on the sidewall of a model mean.

With a character string in front of you, e.g. 165/60 R15, it is worth knowing that the first of these values indicates the cross section width measured between the tyre sidewalls in millimetres.

The second number in tyre size is the height of profile (aspect ratio), i.e. a percentage to tyre width, e.g. 65 is 65% of 235. ”R” indicates the tyre type (R - radial, D - diagonal). The last part denotes the width of a rim in inches.
