    Opinion from outside the UK

Another set of Goodyear tyres and another decision to buy Eagle F1. Almost from the beginning I bought Eagle F1 tyres only from this series, but before I had cars with 140-220 HP. This time I originally wanted to buy another brand of tyre because of the 420bhp under the bonnet, but after reviewing the car's performance and other people's opinions, I decided on the Eagle F1. I am convinced that this time it was the right choice as well. These tyres are simply a revelation. First and foremost, my priority is safety in the broad sense of the word when driving fast, i.e. "sticking" the tyre to the asphalt, both when braking and starting. But here many tyres are similar, and the Eagle F1 shows its "claws" only when entering fast corners, especially in the wet, by not even the slightest slip. To paraphrase a saying - straight roads are for fast cars, curvy roads are for Goodyear tyres. The grip is simply excellent. I would also recommend the tyre for normal day-to-day driving, it does a great job of absorbing the bumps that abound in Poland and the protective rim allows you to park safely right up to the kerb. Opinion from outside the UK

Tyres fitted to a BMW 530 d 193 km, 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. Drivers who read these reviews are mostly looking to save money by wondering if it's worth buying premium tyres or a mid-range with similar performance. Well, it is worth buying these tyres.... but.... BUT due to rapid wear I do not recommend them for people who want to show a friend nice tyres, because after two seasons of about 40 thousand wear is significant. Generally speaking, the tyres hold well in corners. Braking in the dry I don't rate because even the budget class has decent performance. In the wet the tyres are excellent. Despite the wide width, float is felt to some extent for sure, but I don't know of any scale in which to describe it. Riding with children; safety is a priority for me and a few hundred more for a set is no expense at all in case of emergencies, emergency braking etc, because that's how you have to look at it for such extreme situations which happen relatively rarely, but still.... they do happen and then what? those few metres of shorter braking distance make a colossal difference AMEN Read more Collapse

These tyres work extremely well on the Fiat Bravo II. As for the noise of these tyres, they are very quiet, practically inaudible regardless of the driving speed, it feels like the car is gliding a few cm above the ground and not rolling on the asphalt. Grip under braking and in corners, with normal and slightly dynamic driving, is excellent. Rolling resistance is low, the car moves easily on even a slight incline. These tyres do not generate higher fuel consumption, on the road with the weakest engine went down to 5L/100 km. They pick up bumps nicely and let you feel what is happening between the tyre and the tarmac. When driving in heavy rain, they shed water very well, which is audible (water hitting the wheel arches). These may not be cheap tyres, but it makes sense to invest in them if you expect a high level of driving comfort and driving confidence. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Due to the rather low profile I wanted to buy a reinforced model, I was advised against this by the seller due to the fact that I was buying a model with a higher load index. I don't know what it would be like with reinforced tyres but the fact is that within three months of last season 2 front tyres were damaged. One time a pothole, the other a deeper one - in both cases the same thing - a bump (damaged sidewall) on the tyre, which means the tyre was trashed. In both cases the impact was not strong enough to damage the aluminium rim. In 3 months 2 x 450 PLN went down the drain. + replacement costs. The tyres had no more than a few thousand km. Before that I put on winter tyres and it was quiet until spring. Now I need to buy something more solid for the front. Read more Collapse

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

The Goodyear Eagle f1 Asymmetric 2 first and foremost ensures short braking distances on wet surfaces, excellent driveability and reduced fuel consumption. Short braking distances are possible thanks to the use of ActiveBraking technology in the tyre's design. This is an excellent solution at times when fractions of a second can make all the difference. Why? This technology guarantees reliable manoeuvrability of the car in any summer conditions. This is due to the increased contact area between the tyre and the road surface. The tyre's performance specifications have been compared with those of rival products. These tests showed that the braking distances of the Goodyear Eagle f1 Asymmetric 2 were 3 metres shorter on wet roads and 2 metres shorter on dry surfaces.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

Another characteristic feature of the tyre, in other words its excellent driveability, is primarily due to the use of a silica-enhanced rubber compound, which improves grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Combined with a rigid structure, this compound significantly improves steerability at high speed. The last of the three most characteristic features of the Goodyear Eagle f1 Asymmetric 2, its reduced fuel consumption, is thanks to the use of FuelSaving technology, which is evident in the tyre's lightweight construction. This means that the tyre requires less energy when moving (lower rolling resistance), and the silica-enhanced compound also reduces the heat generated by the model. These factors guarantee lower fuel consumption, making the tyre more environmentally friendly.

The Goodyear Eagle f1 Asymmetric 2 is used as an original part in car models including: Porsche 911, VW Tiguan, Lancia Delta, Opel Insignia and Saab 9.5.

Goodyear

In 1839 Charles Goodyear developed his rubber production technology. Five years later he also patented the rubber vulcanisation method. He died in 1860, but Frank Seiberling wanted his memory to live on so he named the company after him when it was set up in 1898. Goodyear also produced various rubber materials alongside its tyres. It is interesting to note that the company has been associated with motor sports almost from its very beginning. Competitors have won many titles in various different competitions using Goodyear tyres. The American Goodyear group currently owns brands including: Dębica, Sava, Fulda and Dunlop.
