Technical description:
The Michelin Latitude Sport 3 is a high-performance summer tyre designed for crossover vehicles/SUVs, which is notable for its safety, durability and cost-effectiveness.
One of the key features of the tyre is the rubber compound used to manufacture the tread, which is enhanced with silica and elastomers in order to deliver outstanding mileage performance without loss of safety at the same time as fuel savings. The use of varying groove widths also reduces fuel consumption by preventing tread block deformation, which plays a large part in increasing rolling resistance.
The Michelin Latitude Sport 3 also features an increased number of grooves on the tread pattern. This guarantees outstanding vehicle handling on wet roads, and a high level of safety in challenging weather conditions as a result. The central section of the tread features a continuous rib which improves braking and acceleration performance.
High levels of durability are guaranteed by the two-ply carcass.
Manufacturer details:
Michelin is one of the world's largest tyre manufacturers. The French-owned company, whose mascot has been Bibendum (also known as the Michelin man) almost since its very beginning, supplies a range of premium-end products. The company's history started when the brothers Édouard and André set up business back in 1889. Within a matter of years, Michelin became one of the pioneers of the tyre industry.
The group currently owns brands such as Michelin, Kleber, BFGoodrich, Riken, Taurus, Kormoran, Warrior, Siamtyre, Tigar, Euromaster and Recamic, and it is also actively involved in motor sports. Until 2006, Michelin manufactured tyres for Formula 1 vehicles. It specialises in the production of tyres for passenger cars, lorries, motorbikes, aeroplanes and spaceships, as well as bicycle tyres and inner tubes. The company also publishes maps and tourist guides. The French group has owned Olsztyńskie Zakłady Przemysłu Gumowego "Stomil-Olsztyn", known as Michelin Polska, since 1995.
